I have been using Open Home for about a day now and I just had the second time where I lose all of my ICONS on all of my screens.. Even my direct dial shortcuts (which is irritating!) ... Any Idea what may be going on here? I am not switching anything of note and am using an Open Home Skin..

So I use my Eris as a GPS from time to time and when I do, I do not want the screen to shut off automatically. I know how to change this in settings but what I want is a widget that I can keep on my home screen that will disable the screen time out, and then turn it back on again (the way the wifi short cut allows me to turn my wifi receiver on and off without going through settings.
I do not think such a short cut already exists, I would happily write it myself, but not sure how to go about starting.
I couldn't find this while searching these forums but if its already been covered please point me in the right direction. when i receive email from android forums it sends me a link to the forum that a new message was posted to. thats great an i like it doing that.. my problem is sometimes the link is "too long" and g mail cuts it off before sending it to my phone so i cant tap it. the email shows up correctly on my computer at g mail.com so i know it must be a setting in my phone or in g mails interface of what it sends to my phone.

Here is what is happening with my Droid. I have the official release on my Droid and when I leave and app (Like Dolphin or Handcent) my icons on my home screens take 5-10 secs to refresh and it can take another 5 seconds before my home screen will react to any touches.
Also when I unlock my phone it can take close to 20 secs sometimes (not all the time) for my icons to come in and it takes at least 5 secs no matter what to get my screen to react to any touches.
Is anyone else having this issue? What can I do? Now I almost wish I had never updgraded to 2.2.....
Has anyone else noticed their icons moving around [by themselves] on the home screen? A couple of days ago, the "Phone" icon suddenly appears on the left-most home screen rather than on the center one. Today, I discovered that I had 2 Gmail icons on my home screen. I thought that it was my imagination, but this has happened a couple of other times.

Randomly (Maybe 2/5) when I press home from the browser, an application, ending a call, etc. All of my icons will disappear for 4-5 seconds. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just manually updated to 2.01, and everything went fine on the upgrade, no errors. Seems rather zippy, however now when I open the keyboard and the home screen shift to a horizontal layout, all my home screen icons (and widgets) disappear. On all three home screens. Everything is still there in the "all items" menu on the bottom. I'm not getting any kind of crash indicator, or force close or anything. A reboot brings it back, at least until I open the keyboard again. It's pretty consistent, although it seems I can avoid the problem by not opening the keyboard when it's on the home screen (only doing so when in an app). Never saw this with 2.0. I've googled around and seen other folks having similar problems, but no fixes mentioned, and none specifically referring to 2.0.1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open up messaging on my home screen, it's pretty slow and choppy. I have about 10 threads open with about 3,000 txts total. I delete most pictures and animations I receive, to save memory, but I like to keep my text txts. It's slow when I scroll down through my threads, and it takes a second or two to open up a thread, regardless if it has 10 txts in it, or 2,000. Anyone else have this problem? I should add that it did not improve after the update. I wonder if I'm low on memory overall, but I have 87M free according to my advanced task killer app. I get what seems to be a glitch too, when I get a text message and it appears at the status bar at the top, sometimes it shows the same text three or four times, at random intervals. Sometimes it just shows it once, like it should?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend and I both got Droid 2's on launch day and she has been having an issue today that she called me to complain about but I haven't seen it happen yet myself. I am hoping someone can help with my description of it, if not I will come back later with a more thorough description. Basically what she said is happening is randomly every time she tries to unlock the phone to read a text message or something a notification pops up and says something like you are connecting to the home/multimedia dock and then the dock pulls up. She closes it and then it wants to open itself up again. Has anyone else had this happen and know what causes it or how to fix it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedStock Droid 2.2 tethered to Ubuntu 10.04. I can tether it and get good speeds and can surf around with no problem. When I launch Transmission (a bittorrent client) tethering shuts down after a few minutes. It doesn't disconnect but just stops transferring data...web pages won't even load. I have tried to limit the speeds of upload and download but nothing seems to work. I am using the tether option under settings- wi-fi on the Droid. Is there a limit in the droid for data or something like that?

In the midst of customizing my phone I'm trying to make a Short Cut to "Add to Home Screen" but I can't figure it out.
I'm using FolderOrganizerLite to do this btw...and I also have Any Cut and am using LauncherPro.
I would also like a customized icon with this shortcut
Whenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
I just got my eris so i was experimenting with apps. I was reading a thread about Lockbot and decided to see what it was all about.. I messed with it for a few mins and decided i didn't like it so i uninstalled it. When i pushed the home button a menu pushed up that said something along the lines of "Home or Sence" (or something like that) and i chose sence because i was curious. Now my home screen is completely different and lost my custom scene.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell lately my battery life has been horrid. If I am lucky I get 7-8 hours. That's with little to no internet use and just texting. Like now I'm at 70% and my phones been unplugged for 1 hour and all I have done is text a little and browse Facebook via the app for a little. I'm using BB .4 with the stock kernel. I was gettin better battery life than this before.
