Motorola Droid 2.2 Froyo rooted Bugless Beast 0.5. Randomly (Maybe 2/5) when I press home from the browser, an application, ending a call, etc. All of my icons will disappear for 4-5 seconds. Please tell me if you know of a fix or anything about this problem, I've seen other topics about this but no solutions that worked.

I just manually updated to 2.01, and everything went fine on the upgrade, no errors. Seems rather zippy, however now when I open the keyboard and the home screen shift to a horizontal layout, all my home screen icons (and widgets) disappear. On all three home screens. Everything is still there in the "all items" menu on the bottom. I'm not getting any kind of crash indicator, or force close or anything. A reboot brings it back, at least until I open the keyboard again. It's pretty consistent, although it seems I can avoid the problem by not opening the keyboard when it's on the home screen (only doing so when in an app). Never saw this with 2.0. I've googled around and seen other folks having similar problems, but no fixes mentioned, and none specifically referring to 2.0.1.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI've done the searching and nothing has solved my problem and the last time this was brought as far as I can tell was back in December. My issue is that there is no consistent time when this happens. Sometimes it happens as I unlock the homescreen, as I'm exiting out of an application, as I rotate the screen, and even as I'm shifting between home screens. It also happens randomly based off of my last reset. Since it started (about a month ago) it has happened as long as 3 days after my last reset and sometimes as soon as 20 minutes after. I've tried installing the Home++ application but that did not solve the problem either. Does anyone know of a setting or way to bring the icons back without having to reset the phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whenever I press the home button when Im in the root task of my application and when I click on the icon of my app again the state of my task (activity) is retained, but when i press the back button on the emulator and when I open my application its state is not retained. I want the state to be retained in both the scenarios.
In the mnifest I have given the below entries,
android:alwaysRetainTaskState="true" for the root activity
android:launchMode="singleTask" for the application
Whenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
I just installed CyanogenMod 10 20130110-NIGHTLY to my Motorola Defy+ and I am experiencing this problem:
3 of 4 dock icons disappear after rebooting the phone. It doesn't happen always, just in approximately 50% cases.
Now, it happened after closing and app and returing to launchscreen, plus one widget was gone too It's becoming really annoying, plus I'm having serious issues with connecting to wifi. I guess I'll just start using again Gingerbread that actually works, instead of this piece of... unfinished, not working ...thing
Ever since I got my phone (January of this year) my contact icons will disappear randomly. I think it has to do with the facebook sync because all the other icons that I took pictures for are fine. My "People" list is just messed up in general - the update status shows up under the wrong contact icon, it never loads properly, really laggy, and the contacts who are facebook linked randomly show up and disappear. My phone is completely optimized for speed and performance. Its been almost one year and I still cant figure it out.

Having to press the power button up top is just an inconvenience.

Here is what is happening with my Droid. I have the official release on my Droid and when I leave and app (Like Dolphin or Handcent) my icons on my home screens take 5-10 secs to refresh and it can take another 5 seconds before my home screen will react to any touches.
Also when I unlock my phone it can take close to 20 secs sometimes (not all the time) for my icons to come in and it takes at least 5 secs no matter what to get my screen to react to any touches.
Is anyone else having this issue? What can I do? Now I almost wish I had never updgraded to 2.2.....
Has anyone else noticed their icons moving around [by themselves] on the home screen? A couple of days ago, the "Phone" icon suddenly appears on the left-most home screen rather than on the center one. Today, I discovered that I had 2 Gmail icons on my home screen. I thought that it was my imagination, but this has happened a couple of other times.

View 2 Replies View RelatedReceived my 2.1 OTA at 1:36 AM last night and ever since, I can't manually lock my phone by short pressing the power button anymore. I thought maybe this was a Spare Parts issue, since I had changed the Power Button behavior on 1.5 using Spare Parts (when I pressed Power from any screen, it would return me Home; pressing from Home would Lock). So, I uninstalled Spare Parts, but this didn't remedy my problem. Any advice?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use Skype Mobile it seems to reset my Home button (as if I had gone to the application manager and reset to defaults) so I have to keep selecting Helix Launcher every single time after using Skype.
Obviously I check the "Use by default for this action" box each time.
Only Skype Mobile seems to do this. I have also tried powering off and back on.
Idk if its a weird mode the phone is set in but all of a sudden today i've noticed a few random things happen...
1. the Home button won't work, it vibrates but does nothing when pressed
2. I have no unlock screen, when i press the power button it just brings me right to where i left off.
3. My ringtones were all set to silent
4. when i hold the power button the only option i have now is to turn the screen off.
I have 2.1 rooted. real hdmi. i can see the hdmi page on my tv, but when i hit the home menu (on my X) to get to an app, my home screen flashes on my tv then closes. and i get no connection. ive watched youtube vids and read the hdmi page. ive tried dock/car/no dock. with the same result...
View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes with the home or back button not responding at times? Kind of like a freeze where u have to press the buttons a couple of times then they will respond. Also, have you noticed that sometimes that pressing the power button will not wake the phone up? And when my phone call ends, it takes a while for the screen to come back from black so I can end the call. Should I get an exchange for my phone or are these issues supposed to be resolved with the update coming?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk one of the weirdest things happened just now. I switched back to UD 8 last night just cause. I had on BB 0.5 b4 if that matters. I didn't wipe data or cache either (Don't know if that matters or not). So for some reason both launcher pro and android system force closed. So I went to UD settings and put fix permissions. I then switched to ADW Launcher to see if that helped.
That helped for a little while but while i was in a call a few minutes later I press the home button and it doesn't even work!!! I pressed back until I hopefully went back to the homescreen. It first of all never went back to the homescreen and second of all just stayed in the browser and another note is that while I tried to go home it didn't work but when I held the home button it showed my recent apps.
So I did a battery pull and all it did was stay in the boot animation for almost ten minutes. Now I just have the battery out to let the droid cool down. The CPU was getting pretty hot. Was this just an overheat or did my droid just flip out on me. Would like to know if something similar to this has happened to anyone else for future reference. I know I'm definitely not bricked but what would be the right steps to get back to my normal droid.
edit: all of this happened after I put the sense theme, keyboard, and revolution theme onto my sdcard. While the files were on my laptop they gave my laptop the blue screen of death. I found these files in another thread on this site. Could they be killer files set out to kill any device that they are on. Perhaps. But idk what to do still.
I'm building a comic strip styled application and I'm trying to make "previous page" and "next page" buttons.
Right now, I have an image that spans 500 x 200 (not really, but it works). Over top of that image, I have two buttons equal to 50% of each side. When you click the left button, I want it to change the image to whatever-x. When you click the right button, I want it to change the image to whatever-y.
Apparently rooting and using custom ROMs hasn't solved this issue. Before I rooted my phone I was having the issue that, despite checking the "Use by default for this action" box, my phone just plain refused to save what homescreen app to go to when I tap the "Home" button.I've tried clearing the cache. I've done factory resets and data wipes (although I did restore "all apps with data" with Titanium Backup). I've tried using the Home Switcher app. Nothing works.Right now my phone is running the current version of BB, ChevyNo1's 1.0Ghz 5 slot update.zip for OC, and am using AdamZ's Smoked glass theme. I want to use the "HelixLauncher" app as my default homescreen, but it's rather obnoxious having to constantly select it when I hit the home button (it'll save my default action for a few clicks, and then I'll have to set it again).
