how are you guys using the phone for speed dial.. i used any cut and pasted a bunch on the first home screen problem is i am having a problem as i accidently hit the screen and am not aware.same problem if i use contacts or log to dial.it stays on the scrren after the call and if i dont lock the screen i have the same problem.i am accidently calling.

I couldn't find this while searching these forums but if its already been covered please point me in the right direction. when i receive email from android forums it sends me a link to the forum that a new message was posted to. thats great an i like it doing that.. my problem is sometimes the link is "too long" and g mail cuts it off before sending it to my phone so i cant tap it. the email shows up correctly on my computer at g mail.com so i know it must be a setting in my phone or in g mails interface of what it sends to my phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I use my Eris as a GPS from time to time and when I do, I do not want the screen to shut off automatically. I know how to change this in settings but what I want is a widget that I can keep on my home screen that will disable the screen time out, and then turn it back on again (the way the wifi short cut allows me to turn my wifi receiver on and off without going through settings.
I do not think such a short cut already exists, I would happily write it myself, but not sure how to go about starting.
I have been using Open Home for about a day now and I just had the second time where I lose all of my ICONS on all of my screens.. Even my direct dial shortcuts (which is irritating!) ... Any Idea what may be going on here? I am not switching anything of note and am using an Open Home Skin..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this is a rooted issue because it never happened on stock. I have had this problem on Fresh and Baked Snack. Whenever the screen is off and I'm listening to anything that requires mobile data (pandora, streaming radio), it cuts out after about 5 minutes. When I turn the screen on, I can see 3G kick back in and the stream starts again. Is this a known problem with a known solution?
View 3 Replies View RelatedReceived my 2.1 OTA at 1:36 AM last night and ever since, I can't manually lock my phone by short pressing the power button anymore. I thought maybe this was a Spare Parts issue, since I had changed the Power Button behavior on 1.5 using Spare Parts (when I pressed Power from any screen, it would return me Home; pressing from Home would Lock). So, I uninstalled Spare Parts, but this didn't remedy my problem. Any advice?

In the midst of customizing my phone I'm trying to make a Short Cut to "Add to Home Screen" but I can't figure it out.
I'm using FolderOrganizerLite to do this btw...and I also have Any Cut and am using LauncherPro.
I would also like a customized icon with this shortcut
Anyone have issues where the touch screen and the buttons become unresponsive for a period for short bursts. I think my phone has had it. I tried restoring it to see if certain apps maybe causing it but that is not the issue. Restored still same problem. it happens about every 5 minutes.
View 16 Replies View Related1st time poster long time lurker. I have done a search on Google trying to find a solution or at least a reason as to why my phone is behaving this way. Search produces nothing. This week my phone started behaving strange. I will get a call, but the caller ID no longer displays. Suddenly the screen starts to flash and I have to unlock the screen in order to see who is calling. By the time the screen is unlocked the person has already hung up. I have not done anything (add new programs) in the last 2 weeks and I am not sure why this is happening.

It doesn't do that if i plug,it,in a computer usb, it doesn't,do that and charges normally. Is that a wide spread issue.

I am plan B and AVG security installed, both don't always work, I have pattern lock on the phone but even in pattern lock mode when i press and hold power button the phone gives me option to shutdown.
If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?

What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). I know the best thing is to have a secured access but I was just wandering if it was possible to do seomething different?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a cheap (all I could afford) jelly bean Chinese Star N9776 phone 6" and on the whole have to report its great for the money. The only problem is that when I make a call or receive a call the ALS_PS sensor I think turns the screen off and it will not come back on until the call ends.
I have searched for answers and have found that this is a common problem. One thread suggested that if you enter the boot menu with the volume and power key you can sellect an option to disable this feature. However the menu is in Chinese !!
