Android :: Use Open Home Icons With Launcher Pro?
Jun 30, 2010I saw on someone's review of an Open Home icon pack that the icons looked good in Launcher Pro.
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to make them work -- I can't figure out how.

I have been using Open Home for about a day now and I just had the second time where I lose all of my ICONS on all of my screens.. Even my direct dial shortcuts (which is irritating!) ... Any Idea what may be going on here? I am not switching anything of note and am using an Open Home Skin..

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
Ive had open home downloaded for over a month and i only used it for a short period of time before switching back to the default homepage setting. Now, because of the new features added to Open Home i want to switch back, and every time i open 'Open Home' it only opens until i hit the home key. Then it does not ask me what i want to use as my default as it used to. I went to settings>applications>manage applications>open home to clear all defaults but it is not highlighted for me to select it. How can i set Open Home to my default again?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a single Android application that houses a suite of applications. I want each application to install with its own launcher icon, so I have a few activities with the same intent filter. It works just fine if I close out of an application using the back button. Each launcher icon starts a different activity. However, if I simply send the application into the background using the home button and then try to start a different activity, the one I put into the background is brought to the foreground instead of the correct activity starting. Can I make the multiple icons work or do I need to create a central activity as a way to start all the sub-applications?

I've tried Go Launcher EX, but I hated the small dock icons. I'm using Samsung Galaxy Nexus, is there a Launcher that:
1. Don't alter the ICS dock icon size, or that have an option to resize the dock icons?
2. That support swipe gesture in the dock? (Swipe upwards to open shortcut)
3. Where it is easy to swap icons?
Which Launcher can do this?
There are many launchers with the featuring allowing resizing of widgets.
But I have yet to find a launcher that allows scaling of icons. I can't resize my application icons to 2x2 size, then change it to a custom image since the default icon would be blurry by the resizing.
Any launcher that does that?
I have activities A and B. The A is the one with LAUNCHER intent-filter (i.e. the activity that is started when we click the app icon on home screen). A launches B using start Activity(new Intent(A.this, B.class)). When the user has the B activity open, and then put my application into the background, and later my application's process is killed, when the user starts my application again, B is opened instead of A. This caused a force close in my app, because A is the activity that initializes the resources my app needs, and when B tried to access the uninitialized resources, B crashes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm sure that many of you are aware of this, but for those who aren't, you can now have Custom Icons on your Droid X without the use of any special Launchers. The program that allows you to do this is known as Desktop Visualizer. If you have either downloaded any Custom Icon pack, or simply transferred some custom icons over from your Computer, Desktop Visualizer will allow you to choose the Custom icon that you desire, and then choose the Application or task that you want it to replace.
The really neat thing about this is the ability to create several different sizes of your downloaded Custom Icons. Simply long press on an available space on your home screen and choose from one of 4 different Icon sizes.
Please note that the "Small SS" size creates a smaller icon than the "Small" size, even though it comes first in the list. Also, be aware that some of your Custom Icons may appear sharper than others when enlarged. I assume that these were created at a higher resolution, or whatever the terminology might be.
Is there a way to get the icons at the bottom of this launcher, but still keep HTC Sense as your UI?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm testing out Lightning Launcher on my SGS4 and so far, I really like what I see -- especially the ability to "pin" icons in a certain location.
But I've noticed that some icons (not all) have a line above them for some reason. At first, I wanted to get rid of all the lines. But then I realized that I'd like to show them on some icons -- but I want to control which ones.
I want to pin two rows of icons to create sort of a 2-row dock. And I'd like to have a line above the top row.
how to control this line?
I am using adw launcher ex and theme chooser to customize my phones gui.
I have encountered a small problem with icons, i dont want to use the themes icons i want to use the default icons of the phone is this possible i have searched the menu and options but found nothing?
i've installed Nova launcher on my tablets and phone and love it but there's one issue I can't seem to find anything about.
I set my launch screen to have say 7wide*5high icons then this will look good in landscape but when rotating to portrait the amount of icons is rotated also so it's at 7 wide and 5 high even though the aspect ratio has flipped. I don't get why launchers don't just rotate the icons on the spot so that it looks good in one rotation and not the other.
Is there a way to change the icons in the app drawer in ADW Launcher or ADW Launcher EX? Like choose the ones we want.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI must say LP is kinda cool, gives you a different feel of the phone. Right now i'm only using one screen, and 1 dock (not multiple dock screens), but i guess i'm just trying to find out if this is actually any different than the normal senseUI. I see there are limited icons, and we can either use the LP icons, or the default icons, but maybe there is an expansion pack for LP that i'm not understanding? Also, what are you guys using as a clock. With LP, i can only add the analog clock, or other wigdet clocks i've downloaded, but can't load 10 clocks that came with the phone. I'm assuming those are senseUI clocks, and will not work with LP. Should i download clock widgets that will work with LP? Also, since i'm only using 1 screen, and 1 dock, and i really not utilizing LP to the max here ? I should be using the dock more, and using it for more applications to quickly pull up right? Does anyone have any advice on how to customize it a little bit to make the experience more enjoyable, or make it worth the while ?Also, battery life? Any difference? Is it the same? I have ATK that i run every once in a while to kill some buggy apps/games, I noticed that LP is running and taking up a good amount of resources, has anyone reported a really bad battery due to LP being installed?

Okay, sorry about that first paragraph. Short description, This is being released because of another thread where it was requested. These are my personal mods that I made and use for myself but am now sharing with you all. I havent tried/looked into making a "flashable update zip" so for now this comes as a package of APK files that you will push to your phone via ADB. I have made this slightly easier for you as I have provided all the commands needed that can simply be pasted into a terminal window.......................
I'm using the latest version of GO Launcher Theme Factory, and I've made a theme with around 30 icons, but I can't seem to add custom icons for other apps that aren't in GO's list. For example, I want to add a Nexflix icon for my theme, but I can't because when I double click on the add custom icon button, GO wants me to open an .apk file, not an image file. How to add a new icon to the list where it's actually an image file, or .apk file that I could download to my comp that has a bunch of custom icons listed (I'll make my own actual icons).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running Apex Launcher Pro and have started to notice a problem. When I uninstall apps that I have in folders in Apex Launcher Pro, the icons for those apps are not being removed when i uninstall the apps. I uninstalled roughly 30-40 apps not too long ago and they are all still present in my app folders on my desktop. Is there a way to have Apex remove these icons when uninstalling apps? Currently I have to go and test icons to see if the apps are installed or uninstalled in order to test them, which can be quite annoying if you have a large number of apps.
I am running the latest Apex on a Verizon GS3 running Synergy ROM.
