Is it possible to do this on the Droid like it was with Cryanogen? I'd like to keep SH in memory constantly. Just rooted / installed Sholes / overclocked.I checked spare parts and saw nothing. Anyone?

Is there a checkbox somewhere that I've missed that will keep the standard launcher in memory? Each time I leave the home screen for another app and come back I'm having to wait for icons and widgets to load. I know cyanogen has a checkbox somewhere but this is the first time I've tried one of Pete's ROMS.

The application Home (process com.motorola.blur.home) has stopped unexpectedly.
and gives me the Force Quit button.
It usually happens when I'm texting or using the Messaging widget on the home screen and today it has been happening very often!! Starting to get annoying.

I'm looking for some "streaming application" that will allow me to watch any of these movies on my phone over the internet.
Is there such a thing? I know I have to have a dedicated computer (gateway) to access the movies, but after searching Google for the past hour, I've given up.
The only thing I can find is Orb, but the reviews aren't the greatest.
Has anyone done this successfully, and willing to share how they did it?
I would like to see an app or widget that would scroll ESPN news and sports scores across your home screen. Any thoughts, or does this already exist in some capacity somewhere?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThere are certain apps that will not let your phone sleep as I noticed yesterday (TRAPSTER) and so I ended up uninstaling it because it kept my home screen up and it never went to black. I didn't want my battery to run down so I got rid of it but as I sit here thinking about it, couldn't I have gone into my Application settings and turned that app off until I wanted to use it again?

In fact, I've removed all beautiful widgets from all my home screens and home screen replacement apps. Yet for some reason I get the weather thing in my status bar as if I had Beautiful Home running. Which means it's somehow being run without being told to. And it only does this with Sweeter Home.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a replacement for the stock Car Home app for a bit, and I am completely stumped on how to override the Home button so that my app will be brought back to the foreground whenever the phone is docked. This is the way that Car Home works, so there must be a way. It seems that BroadcastReceivers won't work, because the intent that is broadcast whenever the Home button is pressed will still cause the default homescreen app to launch; I cannot prevent it. I can override the Home button from within my app, but that does me no good since this needs to work when the user is outside my app. Car Home also does not do anything weird like set itself as the default homescreen app while it's running (I checked the logcat to make sure).
I've been really beating my head against the wall on this. Does anyone have any ideas, or can you at least point me in the right direction?
I like switching between the stock home and Launcher Pro and ADW. Since the 2.2 update, when I use a home switcher to use one of the replacements, my phone defaults back to the stock home screen when I hit the hardware home button on the bottom of my Moto Droid. Is there a setting I am missing to change this. Even when I select the replacement as "default" using the Home Switcher, it still reverts back to the stock one when I hit that home button.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?

One problem I've ran into is memory. Everyday it says that I'm sort on memory, but I don't have a lot of applications. I have maybe... 8. I've deleted most of them because it says I need room. My question is.. what can I do to get memory back? does rooting help with memory? Should I restart my whole phone, if so, how do i do that?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted Droid 2 and the Desk/Home dock. When I first tried it out, it worked as expected-starting the home dock screen when placed in the dock. However, I now find that whenever I dock the droid, the notification bar shows that it is connected to the multimedia dock but it does not start the dock application. I used Astro to browse the /system/apps folder and found the Dock app- clicked on Open App manager and then Launch at which point I get a message saying "Activity not found com.motorola.dlauncher". I don't know if this is why nothing is happening when I dock the Droid but can anyone tell me why this suddenly stopped working and what I can do to get it working again?

A couple of days ago, I was suddenly unable to play Slacker, Pandora or my regular MP3 music files. Slacker would load, but the songs would not play. Pandora would give me an error message and my regular music player suddenly would not recognize my music files. This all happened suddenly after working fine the day before.I did some online research, but nothing seemed to match all my symptoms. I went to the local Verizon store tonight and they said I had too many apps running. They installed Advanced Task Killer for me, killed my "open" apps and everything works fine now. They recommended that I run it at least once a day.Does this make any sense? I keep reading that we don't need app killers.

I admit I have a lot of apps on my phone since I'm still trying to decide on best apps for my use so I have a couple similar apps that will eventually be widdled down to just one of each type but in the mean time I'm wondering how much available memory is ideal to ensure fast efficient use of resources.
I am afraid to root so until my courage is up I can't get rid of the unused stock apps which take up a boat load of space ie twitter and I hate that unused apps load even though not in use but I believe in the efficiency of android so I don't use task killers. I guess I'm wondering how many self installed on board apps I should strive to get rid of?
