View 17 RepliesI was just wondering if the Droid can handle voice commands such as "Play Music", "Party Shuffle", "Play (Artist)", "Play (Song)", "Play (Album)", "Open Email", "Play (Video)", etc, etc; or if there are plans for this in the future firmware? I personally could make use of this, especially "Play (Artist)". I tried to make it play a song and it called my grandma ):
Also, can anyone tell me the difference between voice search and voice dialer? It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
Liking the music sound quality (out of the 3.5mm) on your Droid X. Since I use my phone as my primary music playing device, SQ is critical. (I typically listen with super high quality in-ear monitors - Shure SE530;s.) I haven't had a chance yet to A/B with my iPhone 3G (which sounded pretty damn good!) but so far, I'm reasonably impressed with the DX audio.

View 49 Replies View RelatedHere lately everytime I want to play my music I have to power down my droid X and back on.It reads this "This player doesnt support this music" or something like that.Once I shut down and back on it plays fine every time.Any ideas on why I have to power down all the time?
Coming from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.
My car has factory I Pod & USB connectors to play music. But when I connect Droid X to the USB port, my car stereo will not play any music. Anyone know how to fix it.

I noticed that google maps does not display anything when at the highest magnification on my droid. This is true when satellite is on or off. Have any of you noticed this? I find it works like this when wifi is on or off.
I see a gray background with a few magnifying glasses instead. I thought it might be because there are no images near my house at this level, so I tried Manhattan near MSG and still did not find anything at the highest mag level.
I finally got around to putting some music files on the phone, sounds great, but the player plays the tracks of an album in alphabetical order, not in normal track order. Does anyone know of a solution to this? Right now all my music files (28 gigs worth) are wma files....could this be the problem? I want to convert all of them to mp3, anyone know of a quick way to do this. I know there are several programs I can use to do this, it just sounds rather time consuming. Hoping someone might have some tip for quick conversion.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAm I the only one who thinks the sound quality of the Eris SUCKS? No matter what player I use (stock player, TuneWiki, MixZing, DroidLive, Last, LastFM, Pandora (to a slightly lesser degree)), music comes out incredibly muddled, like I'm listening through pillows over my ears. True of any of 5 pairs of headphones I use (and I'm not about to go out and buy $100 headphones), including through my car adapter.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI went to use my Eris as a music player for the first time. I plugged in my headphones and tested it out by playing a song. The song plays loud and clear through the headphones, but also plays loud and clear through the phone speaker/earpiece. I could not figure out why it would not just play through the headphones. (I have tried a pair of apple earbuds, as well as basic Sony ones).

call quality been on the X? I have spent a lot of time in the forums here learning about the phone's capabilities and havent once thought about the phone being used as a. However, that is a good thing, because I have had great clear calls which was in contrast to my previous phone, so since the phone has been working as it should, I havent thought about it. But my calls (listening to the person on the other end, and how they say I sound) have been pretty near perfect.

Anyway, I am having a slight - yet frustrating - issue. Sometimes when I'm using the browser, or more prominently, downloading an app, the 3G seems to come to a stand still for about 5-10 minutes (or until I restart the phone).
It can be very frustrating. Has anyone else noticed this problem? I was thinking maybe it was a hardware issue with my particular phone.
