How to modify the actual value temperature alert popup (currently 45C) in a MT65xx CPU based phone.
I have this issue because during the recharge of the phone my temps will reach about 40-45C and I receive the alert.
Everytime I send a text over 160 characters I get a response back from Verizon saying either the recipient doesn't support enhanced messaging (even though I'm sending a text to someone with the droid eris) or a different type of error message. Does anyone else have this problem, or is this something that is more a problem with my actual account?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed that google maps does not display anything when at the highest magnification on my droid. This is true when satellite is on or off. Have any of you noticed this? I find it works like this when wifi is on or off.
I see a gray background with a few magnifying glasses instead. I thought it might be because there are no images near my house at this level, so I tried Manhattan near MSG and still did not find anything at the highest mag level.
My phone spent the better part of the day on charge at work. When I got into the car, it was flashing red at me and telling me to plug it into power now. After a 30 minute car ride, it was showing mostly green. This happened once before but I figured if I ignored it, it would go away.

I installed the 2.1 deskclock because the 2.0.1 was just too bright. Last night i put it in my multimedia dock. However there is no weather. It just says "weather temperature unavailable". I went into the settings and the weather settings is defualted for my zip code. it does show my location and temp. I done understand then why it does not display temp in the dock.

Flash tends to make the phone pretty warm and I'd really like to know how hot the CPU is getting. A failsafe profile in SetCPU is essentially useless if it can't read the CPU temp sensor.
What does everyone use for ringtones?
Also how do you get the temperature (weather) in the top area of your phone that I have seen on some screen shots.....
Yesterday I rooted and installed the new Bugles Beast. While using the wifi tether app today, I noticed my processor getting fairly warm. Concerned, I downloaded TempMonitor. Without any overclocking at all, my processor was consistently running at around 44*C/111*F. The battery temperature hovers around 27-38*C.
Why does my phone run so hot? Should I be worried? Some people have said the processor in the droid can handle temps approaching 100*C (!!!), is this correct?
Ok I've read a gazillion threads on battery life and 2.1 etc etc and you have me all waiting anxiously for an update and bigger batteries but what about actual talk time on the phone? didn't see any threads about that. Its not uncommon for my phone to be a toy all week then on the weekend catch up with some buds or family or whatever and yak on the thing for 2 hours straight. Will it hold? I know my old razer with an ext batt would go 4 hours talk time easy, glimmer would do 2.5 hrs easy with stock battery sometimes more. Pearl did well, haven't really talked the Storm out cause its my work phone and I tend to shun that thing on the weekends ....so let me know how long you've talked on it! Battery life does seem to stink but I can't put the damn thing down so I'm sure that has something to do with it and all my other smartphones sucked battery wise too the first week or so, so I'm not passing judgment yet, just want to know how long i can talk on the thing before it dies....I will do my own testing soon but would like some ideas.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSince I got the original 2.2 update for my Droid, whenever I get a new text message and slide down the notification bar and select the new message, it takes me to the main text message window rather than the actual thread to reply to the person. It is really annoying because it requires an extra step. I figured it would be fixed with the second 2.2 update but it didn't. I called Verizon and they called Motorola and nobody knew of the problem so they shipped me out a new phone and it still does it! I am not sure if I am the only one experiencing this or if its normal. It doesn't do it 100% of the time but closer to 90% probably.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy battery seems to do alright but one thing that has really been bugging me is that every time my battery gets to 30/20% it dies almost instantly lasting no more than 15 minutes from normal usage (texting, checking email).
Is this normal or is mine a bad battery or a battery gone bad rather? Thing is the battery lasts a long except for the last quarter of the battery. I've never seen my battery hit any values below 20% except 5% which is when it turns off immediately after.Call for a replacement battery or is this normal? I've been dealing with it so far by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This morning Google Voice started crashing and I was unable to make a call, so I uninstalled Google Voice, made the call I needed to make, and then reinstalled Voice. While going through the setup, the app crashes and force closes when attempting to sign in. This is not the only app I have problems with. The Amazon MP3 service force closes at random times, and it seems every app I install eventually has to be reinstalled because it starts force closing after a period of time. I do all the normal troubleshooting like clearing the cache and restarting the phone, and it usually doesn't fix it. Is this normal for this phone or do I have a bad one? It's really becoming an annoyance...

I got up this morning with a "charged" battery. I used the phone a little today but not alot. By 7 pm CST my battery was at 30%. As of now, I seem to be out of luck as to find a charger that will properly charge my phone when away from the normal means of charging. Has anyone used any portable batteries with their Droid? Right now, I have an APC Universal Battery 10WH and it doesn't charge my Droid at all. I am looking at the Just Mobile Gum Pro 4400mAh.
I have found that the Droids are very picky about where they get their charges from. I have a wall to usb and a car usb converter that doesn't work with mine or 3 other Moto Droids but will work with any other device that will charge via USB (iPod, GPS, other phones, etc.) Also, I have seen that the Minty Boost will charge the Droid, but their kits are backordered right now.
Is your red camera button loose. Mine wiggles and if you hold it and move it it will go up and down left and right. My other buttons are solid. Is your camera buttons loose. Is this normal.

During that time, my battery went from 100% down to 60%. Is this normal? This was with a phone I pulled fresh off the charger. When I make calls just using the phone without Bluetooth, it barely drains at all. Anyone else experiencing this?
I went to the Verizon store and the guy there basically said that this phone only had 3 hours of talk time and that is why it drained so much and that with the Bluetooth on it would make it worse. I've used other phones with Bluetooth and not seen battery drain like this.
Is there a way to get notifications from facebook instead of getting normal emails?
