Im thinking about buying an Alpine car stereo with bluetooth support. Will I be able to stream music from my Droid through my car speakers without an aux cable?

It does not find bluetooth stereo. Do I need to download a bluetooth audio player or should I check to make sure my stereo supports it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was looking for a bluetooth device that I can connect to my Home theater receiver. Size is not an issue as it will sit in the closet and will be running on AC power all the time. I saw this real cheap device on deal extreme but reviews aren't great. DealExtreme: $12.99 Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP AVRCP Stereo Music Receiver and Handsfree (Black)
I also found this. Amazon.com: BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo Gateway: Cell Phones & Service . It is made for BB but will work with any A2DP device. A mini usb AC adapter is required for power source. Also found a motorola device for this. Motorola 89015J Dc800 Bluetooth Stereo Gateway | Discounted prices on all Bluetooth Headsets for the All All - shopcell.com
I have a HTC Hero and want to be able to play music though my car stereo system, however I want to do this with no trailing cables, good audio quality, the ability to use the phone for it's sat nav software and to take calls.
Ive been looking at the Parrot MKi9200 kit, anyone use this with their hero?
I was just wondering if the Droid can handle voice commands such as "Play Music", "Party Shuffle", "Play (Artist)", "Play (Song)", "Play (Album)", "Open Email", "Play (Video)", etc, etc; or if there are plans for this in the future firmware? I personally could make use of this, especially "Play (Artist)". I tried to make it play a song and it called my grandma ):
Also, can anyone tell me the difference between voice search and voice dialer? It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
Saw an interesting post the other day that said the Droid supposedly can only play 128 kbp/s as the higest quality of music? Can anyone confirm this?
View 17 Replies View RelatedHere lately everytime I want to play my music I have to power down my droid X and back on.It reads this "This player doesnt support this music" or something like that.Once I shut down and back on it plays fine every time.Any ideas on why I have to power down all the time?
Coming from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.
My car has factory I Pod & USB connectors to play music. But when I connect Droid X to the USB port, my car stereo will not play any music. Anyone know how to fix it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI finally got around to putting some music files on the phone, sounds great, but the player plays the tracks of an album in alphabetical order, not in normal track order. Does anyone know of a solution to this? Right now all my music files (28 gigs worth) are wma files....could this be the problem? I want to convert all of them to mp3, anyone know of a quick way to do this. I know there are several programs I can use to do this, it just sounds rather time consuming. Hoping someone might have some tip for quick conversion.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with audio through my bluetooth stereo headset. I have an old Logitech FreePulse Wireless that I use and have tested it with my old samsung p2 mp3 player, no problems there. I also dont have a problem using a bluetooth earpiece for calls. However, I can't get any sound through the headset. It connects fine, shows "media playing through bluetooth" or whatever it says when I change the volume, yet nothing but silence comes out. Also I am on leaked 2.2, dont know if it worked on 2.1 because I never tried.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm probably going to be picking up some BT headphones, mostly for at work. I don't really care if it does voice too, and I don't want to spend a ton of money. I saw these at Verizon, anyone use them? Enter your location (Motorokr S305) Any other recommendations? I want good sound quality and over the ear (not buds). Also, and this may be a really stupid question, but is there a way to tell if songs I bought from iTunes are protected before I move them over to my Droid, or is just a 'try to play it' thing?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted 2.2 and it has been flawless until I noticed today that I am barely getting any sound out of one channel. I do not want to return the phone since it is just about perfect and I dont want to mess with SBF.
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan somebody give me a straight answer on Bluetooth on the Droid and car stereo's.I've tried using the droid on a sony mex-bt3700u, a pioneer I don't remember the name of and a jvc kd-r800 on display in various stores. It will pair and work fine (Stream A Online Radio, GPS Navigation, and hands free phone conversations) except 2 things. My understanding is that the stereo should not come up as headphones. It does. The second thing is, shouldn't you be able to browse, pick, and choose (AVRCP) the phones music content in the Droid from the stereo?I can't do it on any of these stereos.I'm at my witts end.I really want to replace this beater stereo in my late model Porsche, but want to do it right the first time and not be pulling and replacing it multiple times.

So when I get an incoming call, my droid-X rings instead of my car stereo. I have the car stereo set to ring, but it does not. So I constantly miss calls in my car to the point where I may as well not even have a bluetooth stereo. In California, we can't talk on the phone and drive so it's killing me that this does not work after investing money into the system.
Never had a problem on my blackberry. Basically if I have the stereo on, I'm not going to hear my phone ringing, I guess I could set it to auto answer (not sure if that works yet either) but I like to see the number from who is calling first on my CD Player's face.
Anyone know a stereo headset that will allow me to skip a song when squeezing a button? So far I been using the cliq's headset but it only allows to play and pause a song. I need to SKIP to the next song so I dont have to trun the phone on to do that.
