Hey guys, I just bought the Jabra BT8040 and I have it paired up with my Droid, however I can't figure out how to pause/play music with it. I can hear the music fine but the end/answer button doesn't pause or play the music

Currently android devices play/pause on audio cable plugin. But I need it to do the exact same thing with the charge cable. Mainly because I use a dock for music playback on one of my stereo's and would like to just drop it into the dock and it will start playing, or pull it and it will pause

Cause it's ugly (in my opinion).With Bettercut, I'm aware that you can create your own shortcut, but you have to have the source code or some sort of.androidaction.blah in order to create it. I'm just curious if I could use that or if there's something out there that's better.I don't need to know the artist or the song that's playing, I just, well, I miss the days of double clicking my home button and hitting next or stop with my iPhone. That's what it boils down to. So, if there's a way to get the music controls on the lock screen... well, that would even be better.Anyone have some suggestions? I have searched and searched for some sort of resolution, but it's been to no avail. Or, I could have just been searching for the wrong thing.

Personally, I would like to be able to use it as a Pause/Play toggle. When I am out and about listening to music, I very often need to pause. Currently, this requires pulling out the phone, pressing the power button, swiping it open, and (if the music screen is up) pressing pause. That is WAY too long, and a simple hardware button would be perfect.

Also, can anyone tell me the difference between voice search and voice dialer? It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
Coming from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.
This is starting to get on my nerves. is there ANY music app that you can search for music? and in the 2.1 ported music app (nexus or droid i think) how do you pause the music?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI finally got around to putting some music files on the phone, sounds great, but the player plays the tracks of an album in alphabetical order, not in normal track order. Does anyone know of a solution to this? Right now all my music files (28 gigs worth) are wma files....could this be the problem? I want to convert all of them to mp3, anyone know of a quick way to do this. I know there are several programs I can use to do this, it just sounds rather time consuming. Hoping someone might have some tip for quick conversion.

For some reason.. my stock htc headphones wont forward rewind.play or pause.. the default music player! they do work cuz they play/pause mspot and double twist... i unistalled both restarted my phone.. took out the battery.. im about too reset it soon.. but just wondering if any other HTC desire Z owners have experienced a similar problem and found a solution (i've searched and found no1 with a similar problem.. must be in my settings or something).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my Hero yesterday (coming from an iPhone 3GS). I have a major issue with the fact that if I am listening to music through the headphones and I receive a call, the music pauses. But when I remove the headphones to answer the call (I don't like using the headphones or any other bluetooth device to talk into) and am done my convo, as soon as I hang up the music starts blaring (leading to embarrassing moments etc).
Is there any way to make it so that it pauses after a call until I press play again? I tried every music player in the app store I could find but nothing did this, other than Astro Player which is not what I want in a music player (no organization by album, artist, playlists etc.)
I have an application that is playing audio, and I would like to allow the listener to toggle between pause and play while the screen is locked, as it is a hassle to have to unlock the screen in order to pause the audio playback. Is there any way to monitor for KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_CENTER while the the screen is locked? I have been looking through the documentation but have not found any information on how to do this.
View 12 Replies View RelatedIn the past, when listening to music on my Incredible, if I locked the phone the music would continue to play just fine. If I wanted to pause/play/skip a song, all I had to do was hit the power button and above the "Slide to unlock" bar there was a music control bar.
Now, my music still plays, but those buttons are gone from the lock screen. This is a pain because in order to pause my music when someone comes to my desk at work I have to hit the power button, unlock the phone, slide down the notifications window, wait for the music app to load then hit pause.
Anyone know how to get these buttons back?
Anyways, whenever i'm listening to music, and I press the play/pause button on my headset to control my music tracks, my phone turns on. This get's really annoying because every time my phone turns on, it stays on for a few seconds, and this really kills battery life. I've tried lurking around my phone's settings and even my launcher settings.
My phone is a rooted HTC Wildfire S running AOKP custom rom with Nova Launcher Prime. And if it makes any difference, I'm using the "Start" lock screen from the Play Store.
Everything works fine but when a phone call comes while a song is playing the app does not pause the media player and you can hear the song during the phone call. Please tell me how to pause media player on a phone call and again resume it after call is ended.

Either making it louder and the music playing quieter, or even pausing the music and notifcation sounds or ringtone playing would be good. I cant seem to find a fix. I am missing many calls like this.
My Droid and the Eris I could put a 2sec pause so my password would automatically input every time. is there a way to do this on the X i tried to input it under contact edit and on settings screen with no luck.Any ideas or walk-through?
