im looking for a way to control my computer with my droid. i want to be able to sit out on my back deck and control what is playing in the house from the Droid.i do not want to play it on the droid.. i want it to play inside on my computer that is hooked to my stereo.

Cause it's ugly (in my opinion).With Bettercut, I'm aware that you can create your own shortcut, but you have to have the source code or some sort of.androidaction.blah in order to create it. I'm just curious if I could use that or if there's something out there that's better.I don't need to know the artist or the song that's playing, I just, well, I miss the days of double clicking my home button and hitting next or stop with my iPhone. That's what it boils down to. So, if there's a way to get the music controls on the lock screen... well, that would even be better.Anyone have some suggestions? Also, can anyone tell me the difference between voice search and voice dialer? It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
Coming from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.
Does anyone know where to find a media player that would allow you to play streaming videos on Android Browser?
I want to know if you can play streaming videos on your web browser on your android os phone.
I'm looking for a way to convert a .m4b audio book file into something that is playable on my Droid. Keep in mind I'm on a mac and would prefer a way to do this in OS X but Windows is possible if no other option..

I took a video on my Moto Droid, and sent it to my friend on his Eris. He downloaded the file from Gmail and but when goes to play the file, it states that the video is not supported. We have tried converting it to a .mp4 and it will not play either, even with a couple of App's from the Marketplace same result. Yet I thought the droid/Eris both supported .3GP? Works fine on his PC with Quicktime, and the video plays fine on my Droid. Is it because I took it in Hi-Res mode, and the Eris does not support that screen resolution? Or did we screw something up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been having an issue with Google Play Music where when I play a song, it plays for a second then pauses, so I have to press play to get it going again. This occurs repetitively which means I can't listen to music.
It happens on songs that are being streamed and on songs that are on the device.
Funnily enough, if the song is played through ES file explorer and the little play music popup window comes up, it plays fine.
I've got this issue on both my devices, a tf101 running 4.3 and a nexus 5 with stock 4.4 rooted.
Edit: just remembered, I've also got this issue with MX Player and videos. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Streamed videos played through the gallery video player work fine.
I took out the 8GB SD card from my Blackberry Storm and put it the Incredible.
I had a bunch of music saved on my SD Card that I downloaded from VZW Music Media thing.
When I go to music on the Incredible and go over the song (it shows the picture of the album of the song)
it says "unable to play this type of audio"

I have one called Music and one called Playlists, but you can do this however you want. Now launch MediaMonkey, and make sure it shows your phones memory card in the left sidebar (separately from the MyComputer option) In MediaMonkey, click on Tools up top, then choose Options and go down to Portable/Audio Devices Uncheck *all* of the plug-ins except d_USBMass1.dll Highlight d_USBMass1.dll and click on the Configure button to the right Choose the Device Configuration tab in the dialog box that popped up In the middle of this tab, youll see a box called Device Name, which is where youll type the name of your phone (mine is NexusOne)Below this, choose the appropriate drive letter from the drop-down Below this, enter a Drive Label (again, mine is NexusOne)Leave the USB Device ID box empty and dont click the Find Device button While you have this dialog box open, you can tinker with the other tabs, if you want. This is where you can specify a folder hierarchy and adjust your sync settings. I would recommend creating a small playlist (~15-20 tracks from various artists/genres/albums) to test with you dont want to do a full sync only to realize you dont like your sync settings. This guide is better because it allows for the use of smart playlists and has much fewer steps than if you use winamp.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi tried all the apps (doubletwist, isyncr etc.) but i found it to be easier just copying the music folders into my phone ; just like i do on itunes. i was just wondering if i drag a folder in to my phone when its already in there, will it copy twice? i.e i have a folder for singles that i download off sites like hotnewhiphop & when i only download one song i drag it to that folder. so will i be able to constantly drag that folder on to my phone every few days & will it only update the new songs or will it multiply every song - everytime i do this.

I used an app (not the problem because I tried two different ones) to sync my iTunes setlists with the phone. Everything works great but once a day when I try to play a song I get "media player cannot play file".... all the songs are still listed but I have to pull the battery, remove and re-insert the memory card and it works fine...

View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter hours of hit and miss using programs like Double Twist etc. I found that the easiest way to sync music to the iHTC Music player is to use Windows Media Player and buy Album Art Grabber to load the album art. Once you have done the initial sync with WMP you can go back and load individual albums simply by dragging them to the sync area. Connect your phone to the PC and unmount the SD card Open WMP and click the sync tab. Click the drive that represents your SD card (mine was H You will be prompted to sync everything for either this session or all sessions. (I always click this session only). Works great and all I will need in the future!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a ton of music on my SD card in my phone, approx. 6.5GB worth on an 8GB card. The problem is, the music players in Android (I've used the default, RockOn and MixZing, though I want to stay with MixZing) only recognize about 80% of the music, in their libraries. The thing is, the music is there! If I browse to the folder and launch the file it will play, but there's no artist/title data, even though all the files are properly tagged (mp3s), plus, it opens in a weird verion of the default music player that will stop playing if it loses focus.
This has been a issue ever since I got this phone. It's a brand new SD card (my previous one, in addition to this problem, had major corruption issues; I originally thought it was the card but I guess that's not the case). Also, I've gone through two different ROMs (one when I first got the phone, and a second that I upgraded to about a month ago), so I don't think that's the issue. It seems to affect random folders (albums) at different times, whenever the library is refreshed, but I can't refresh the library manually (that I've found) to see if it's just not scanning those files, or if it's a more underlying issue. I'm stumped
I have the Motorola Droid and am using the stock music player. I was looking for alittle help finding something better to use...am sure alot of you are using something much better.
