If people who have naked droids could just humor me for a second...when holding your droid sideways (keyboard side facing down), is there a minuscule gap between the two parts in that when you push down on the top part, it hits the bottom or is yours flush? I ask because after trying a myriad of clip on cases, I think i may have /stretched, widened the gap.

Anyone else notice that the space key on the hard-keyboard is indented, or is this something wrong with mine? I like the keyboard in general, but the space is really annoying. The other keys are all essentially flat, or very slightly curved upwards. The space though is really pretty depressed inwards. I don't think it's worn out, as I really haven't used it much yet.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'

- Added option to disable notification icon

Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.

Guys I find my self constantly hitting the period instead of the space bar and half of my texts/emails all have . laced all throughout them. Is there anyway to change the keyboard to where the space bar is bigger? I don't care about voice search so if I could get rid of that and make the space bar icon bigger that would be great.. is it possible?
I am coming from an iPhone where I could type like crazy quick on there. I can do the same on the Evo and love the bigger keys but for some reason the poisitioning of the space bar is killing me.
When using the keyboard, is it possible to change the default characters shown after entering a space in Froyo? For example, the current options are ! ? , @ _ Ideally, I'd like to change the @ for an & as I use it more. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Dont get me wrong, the QWERTY keyboard is sick, and I love it. But after typing on the keyboard for while, I wanted to switch it up, so I tried the on screen key pad. And to my surprise, the on screen keyboard appears to be much quicker than using the QWERTY!

The Inc has an 8gb flash, but 6.6gb is for media and 748mb is allocated for app storage.
I know the Droid X has 8gb internal, but is all of it allocated for apps or just some of it?
Also, do people run into the infamous "Low on space" error, even if plenty of space still free? I run into the error on the Inc with 380mb still free, so technically, I really only have 368mb for apps.
I'm running Rooted Android 2.1 rooted with P3 1Ghz kernel and TI backup. I want to be able to run flash, Apps to SD, and restore my original apps I have backed up with TI back up. I've read a lot about options but cant decide on the safest path.
Stock 2.2 will eliminate my root correct?
I'm low on space and Apps to SD is my main concern. I'm happy with 2.1 at 1gz.
Let me know what you guys think the best route would be.
Is it worth buying BK over using the API from Sense UI? As a side note, can anyone direct me on how to get the API and install it? I am a relative newbie to Android.

Mine seem to not like being butted up close together, and when I attempt to resize them with LPP, I notice they like to have a lot of blank space around them. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Droid is stock 2.1, rooted with P3 1000 kernel. I have had the issues with stock kernel as well.
Basically, some apps keep telling me I have insufficient space available when I try to update them. The main culprits are Shopper, Space Physics, and NESoid. Sometimes, uninstalling/reinstalling works, but the latest updates of Space Physics and Shopper keep telling me insufficient space. Settings, Memory says I have 91.54 MB of internal space left. Also, uninstalling and doing Titanium restores dont seem to work either...but just for those apps.
When on Google or other pages where I can enter text, the keyboard will not display. Just noticed this a little while ago, but it used to work. For example, I can browse to Google using the standard browser, but when I select the text box, the keyboard will not display for me. It happens with other similar websites as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf you have been like me flashing and unflashing ROMs (sometime 3 or 4 times a day) keep and eye on your free space. My 16gb sd card was down to about 100mb (I do have lots of music and photos loaded up but a week ago I had almost 4 gigs free). I took a look in my Nandroid folder and there was the culprit. Every once in a while do a little house cleaning and clean out unneeded backups. I wish there was a way to name a Nandroid backup at the time of the backup to make it a little easier to sort out which is which. As new ROM releases come out (and I am drawn to try every one of them) it is amazing how fast you can fill your card.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAlright.. I had a Motoq9M for a couple of years.. and such a bad experience.. I was skeptical about EVER buying another motorola again.. Alas.. I refuse to give up my verizon coverage.. and bought a Droid.. aand Im ALMOST hopeless with some of this stuff. The first week everything worked great, then as I started adding apps, things have gotten hinky.
Problem 1:
I set up a "lock pattern" and my screen's timeout time is 30sec. Whenever I'd make a call even after I'd unlock it.. or I've answered the phone and unlocked it.. literally 2-3 secs later.. the phone would blackout and lock again.. WTF? soo.. i disabled the lock option.. problem solved.. but now I don't want to re-lock it if it's going to bug up again.
Problem 2:
I seem to have an unremovable facebook app... can't delete it from settings, and I can't delete it with an un-install app it doesn't even show up to look at in app management in settings.. uhh Help.. because
I USED to be able to go to a friends photos, and choose the "set as" option as a contact photo or a wallpaper.. it started to only do it once in a while .. and now I can't do it at all.. I REALLY want that ability back.
Problem 3:
half the time I go into my task killer, and apps I've never even touched to activate are randomly running in the background.. and when i go to look at my SD card space availability and its says unavailable..
