Jul 28, 2010I am concerned my phone isnt going fully to sleep. My battery seems to drop about 20% in about 4 hours of just sitting there not doing anything. It also takes a long time before the phone idle shows up on my battery use screen. Is there anyway to check awake vs asleep times like you can on the evo?

Is there a way on my Droid X to see everything running in the back ground ? On my Blackberry Storm to close an app I press the menu button, a window opens up and I can press an actual "close" icon. How do I completely close an app on my Droid X?

Have 11G of 14 on SD card, but only 25MB free on internal phone storage.
Just got a text message that wouldnt come thru, and it said 'no text message space left'.
Just uninstalled somethings that were 10MB, now giving me 35MB free but
I keep getting texts, the phone vibrates , which it wasn't set to do, and says 'text memory full'. I am assuming it is vibrating to give me a warning.
Can I clear some of the text memory, or must I clear all of it. And if so for either, how do I do this.
I have moved apps to sd card that makes sense.
How can I free up more space.

May 21, 2010How can I find how much free space / memory I have left on my phone? RAM, MB, etc? I just rooted, installed a ROM and learned how to delete bloatware. Now I want to learn how to monitor my usage of space, and try to make my phone faster.

Samsung Moment :: Notification "Low On Space Phone Storage Space Is Getting Low"
Dec 16, 2009Had my Samsung Moment for about a month. LOVE IT. Few issues (same as everyone else has noticed), but nothing terrible. Until: Randomly today TWO Notifications popped up that said "Low on space Phone storage space is getting low." One was what seemed to be from the "hardware" and the other was from the "Work Mail" app (which I don't use, haven't used, haven't even opened). When I click it, it takes me to the Manager screen. So, I began uninstalling some apps I don't really use (I didn't have that many anyway...a couple of games [Solitaire, etc], Facebook, Notes). It started running really slowly and random Force Close messages would appear for things like android.process, messaging--things that have never Force Closed before. I turned it off (pressed and held the red button), waited a few seconds, then turned it back on again. Immediately after the "Sprint" logo lights show finished, I got another Force Close message. When the Home Screen showed up, I had the two notifications again "Low on space". When I cleared the notifications, only the "Work Mail" one would clear. I went through and deleted some more apps that I don't use. Got on my computer & Googled the issue. Found a couple of random forums that suggested cleaning out the Cache in the Browser. I did that. Cleaned the History & Cookies in the Browser, too. Then, I did a soft reset (took out the battery). Started it up again, SAME notifications. Less Force Close messages. But, it's running VERY slowly.
After a few hours, I noticed that I hadn't received any text messages or Gmail notifications. I had my sister text me about 2 hours ago. Still have not received it.
I really don't want to hard reset. I haven't synced my contacts (I have over 400 & the Sprint store had trouble moving them from my Centro to the Moment) to Google yet, nor have I hooked my Moment up to my Mac yet (the Sprint guys had no idea if it would work or not with Snow Leopard & I hadn't had time to check yet) and I'm worried to try it now that my Moment has gone crazy...I really don't want to lose 400 contacts.I don't download a lot of apps. Most are reputable (Pandora, MotherTED, Shazam, Movies, Jewels). The last one I remember downloading was Google Voice three days ago (which I haven't really used because I've had the flu). I don't know if this is a Malware/Virus issue or if I'm just an idiot & did something wrong. But, it's running REALLY slowly right now. Still not receiving texts or emails (though my Twitter app has notified me of a couple of @ replies).I'm going to call Sprint & Samsung tomorrow, then go to a Sprint tech store if they can't help. But, I'm just hoping one of you have come across this & can help before I have to deal with hours of hold music & techies who tell me to soft reset over & over again.
BTW:
After awhile, I finally checked the storage space:
External SD care: Total: 1.89; Available: 1.85
Internal: About 2 hours ago when I first checked, after I had deleted a bunch of apps it said I had 7.something MB, now (after not downloading ANYTHING or barely even TOUCHING the damn thing) it says 1.95MB. Which leads me to believe that the 7.whatever was not necessarily accurate.
Motorola Droid X :: How Much App Space Does Really Have
Oct 11, 2010I can not find a post, but sure it has been asked. How much space does the Droid X have available installing apps? Not counting apps2sd, of course.
The Inc has an 8gb flash, but 6.6gb is for media and 748mb is allocated for app storage.
I know the Droid X has 8gb internal, but is all of it allocated for apps or just some of it?
Also, do people run into the infamous "Low on space" error, even if plenty of space still free? I run into the error on the Inc with 380mb still free, so technically, I really only have 368mb for apps.
Motorola Droid :: No More App Space?
Jun 19, 2010I'm running Rooted Android 2.1 rooted with P3 1Ghz kernel and TI backup. I want to be able to run flash, Apps to SD, and restore my original apps I have backed up with TI back up. I've read a lot about options but cant decide on the safest path.
Stock 2.2 will eliminate my root correct?
I'm low on space and Apps to SD is my main concern. I'm happy with 2.1 at 1gz.
Let me know what you guys think the best route would be.

Oct 20, 2010I've seen various screenshots of people's phones that have shown their widgets to be pretty close to each other. Mine seem to not like being butted up close together, and when I attempt to resize them with LPP, I notice they like to have a lot of blank space around them. I thought maybe a LCD density change would help with this, but it doesn't. If you understand what I'm talking about, any advice? If you're confused, I'll provide a picture later.

I cleared all of the cache from the applications and it still remains. I have a decent amount of apps downloaded but I used to have a lot more downloaded and never had this problem before.

Sep 26, 2013I have free space on the internal memory of my phone that is not recognized for things like installing an app.
This is my phone:
Model: Motorola XT919
Android version: jelly bean 4.1.2
Internal memory: 4gb (really 2,2 gb free since the rest is used by the OS)
Rooted: Yes
I found out about this problem because I was running out of internal space so I inmediately checked the storage settings and I found this:
In the installed apps settings it shows 766 mb free of internal space But in the storage settings the things are different: As you can see, this time I only have 127 mb free of internal storage....
Just to be sure, I downloaded the app Storage Analyser and once again checked the internal storage free space: And this time shows 1,52 gb free...
Well the thing is that my phone considers as free space just the 127mb shown on storage settings, and I want the phone also uses the free space shown on the app settings or the one shown by storage analyser.

Oct 30, 2010I have a DX running the 2.2 OTA. I rooted my phone but did nothing else (no deodex, no custom anything.) I did rename some of the default apps to disable them but backed up before. Now, here is my question. I want to check for updates (I know where are none, but I keep hoping there will be to fix all the little bugs Froyo seems to have) and I get a "Check for update was not available at this time." I get this EVERY TIME.
Could this be a problem from rooting? Is anyone else having this issue? And yes, I did disable the wifi only updating in settings, so it isn't that.

Nov 29, 2009Anyone else notice that the space key on the hard-keyboard is indented, or is this something wrong with mine? I like the keyboard in general, but the space is really annoying. The other keys are all essentially flat, or very slightly curved upwards. The space though is really pretty depressed inwards. I don't think it's worn out, as I really haven't used it much yet.

Apr 28, 2010My Droid is stock 2.1, rooted with P3 1000 kernel. I have had the issues with stock kernel as well.
Basically, some apps keep telling me I have insufficient space available when I try to update them. The main culprits are Shopper, Space Physics, and NESoid. Sometimes, uninstalling/reinstalling works, but the latest updates of Space Physics and Shopper keep telling me insufficient space. Settings, Memory says I have 91.54 MB of internal space left. Also, uninstalling and doing Titanium restores dont seem to work either...but just for those apps.

Dec 14, 2009on my old phone (palm treo 755) i had a checkbook app that i used daily. i have tried several finance apps on the market, but none seem to do what i want. i have tried the following:
checkbook genius
easymoney
checkbook
dgmoney
with the old program i could create budgets, set up future payments/deposits, show & hide transactions from the transaction list (ie hide cleared items) and display acct balance on a specific day the apps i've tried so far do make decent checkbook registers, but i miss the flexibility of my old app. anyone know of or have experience with another app that could do all this? i have no problem paying for an app that does all this.

Jul 16, 2010I just upgraded from the Droid to the Droid X and am now having a problem. The email I receive through gmail works fine with emails arriving automatically and the notification settings working. The problem is with the regular email program that comes with the phone and my Yahoo account. Even though I believe I have it set up to automatically check email and to receive notification when it arrives, I only get new email when I manually open the app.

Oct 1, 2010So I added a "corp" email to my X. However, when i compose a new message, or reply to one, in the TO: field, there is a "+" icon, click it and it will bring up names. NOW - If you SEARCH for someone, say Mike. when it finds them all, there are no check boxes. you can only select the contact. When you Do, it drops you back to the new message, but the contact is NOT in the To: field. Its just blank. If i Scroll to Mike, and select him, I get a set of 2 emails for him, which check boxes. I select the one i want and press done. Now i get dropped back to the email, and Mike is in the to: field. WHAT am I doing wrong, that I cant Search for someone and add him to the to: field. Long press just brings up delete. Is this why BB still wins corp email?
