May 4, 2010Dl the apk for high res HTC IMEkeyboard, find using androzip or astro. Install after checking allow unknown apps in the settings. Seems to be the same keyboard as stock with the auto space inserted. Only issue that it seems to be a tad slower than stock

Jun 16, 2010Guys I find my self constantly hitting the period instead of the space bar and half of my texts/emails all have . laced all throughout them. Is there anyway to change the keyboard to where the space bar is bigger? I don't care about voice search so if I could get rid of that and make the space bar icon bigger that would be great.. is it possible?
I am coming from an iPhone where I could type like crazy quick on there. I can do the same on the Evo and love the bigger keys but for some reason the poisitioning of the space bar is killing me.

2.each button has its own "pressed" View, and that View is set to visible (flashing) during keypress event (so no redraw needed but need more memory)
I know its trade-off between speed and memory usage, but I just want to know what you will do under this situation.
Android : How Can I Close Virtual Keyboard On Button Press?
Aug 3, 2010I have an Activity with an EditText, a button and a ListView. The purpose is to type a search screen in the EditText, press the button and have the search results populate this list. This is all working perfectly, but the virtual keyboard is behaving strange. If I click the EditText, I get the virtual keyboard. If I click the "Done" button on the virtual keyboard, it goes away. However, if I click my search button before clicking "Done" on the virtual keyboard, the virtual keyboard stays and I can't get rid of it. Clicking the "Done" button does not close the keyboard. It changes the "Done" button from "Done" to an arrow and remains visible.

Nov 30, 2009When you press the 'google search button' on your Hero it takes you to the Browser.. I then turn it in landscape mode to get a bigger keyboard. As soon as I press any of the keyboard buttons the keyboard bounces up and down..thus you can't type properly..

Apr 23, 2010It is difficult to test a game with the mouse pointer on android buttons. I would like to control those buttons with the hardware keyboard. Actually I don't want to control the buttons itself but I want to control the behavior the buttons would also do. For example I have 4 buttons in the android application with "arrow up, down, left, right". I'd like to use the arrow buttons of my hardware keyboard to control the same. How can I do that? Actually the question is, where can I set the Listener? I tried something in my activity.

Oct 30, 2010I was wondering. Is there an app for changing the soft keys on my Samsung Vibrant to only activate when pressed long or double clicked? I am just sick and tired of accidentally pressing them because they are so damn sensitive, and unlike the Fascinate or Epic 4g, so close to the touch screen that pressing spacebar on the onscreen keyboard half the time results in hitting the soft keys by accident. I don't understand why we can't customize what the soft keys do and how long or many times activates them, because if you got even normal sized finger tips, it's so annoying to be typing into the search bar and then press back right below and have to retype everything again.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Stop Keyboard From Entering Circles Everytime When Press Next?
Sep 7, 2010when im typing and its suggesting a word if i click the next key it draws a small circle. if i want to move to the next word i need to either click on the suggested word; press space; or press the back key then go front again. any way to fix this? i know alot of you will say get the htc but i gave it a try and surprisingly (dont bash me) i liked the original more. i would have stuck to htc but when i tried changing key sizes (height or width) it wouldnt let me. my only problem with the keyboard is having big fingers i missclick alot, something i never had an issue with on the iphone (once again dont bash me). so in conclusion i guess what im asking is 1. can i stop the keyboard from entering circles everytime i press next. 2. how can i change key type on htc (i know its in setting but it didnt work). 3. anyone know of another keyboard that has larger/spaced out keys like the iphone?

Jun 30, 2010On my UK Milestone (rooted), long press on the search button only works when the hardware keyboard is shut, when the keyboard is open, long press works the same as a short press.
While looking for a fix for this, I found very little information on the net, so I'm wondering if it's a problem with only selected devices. Can anyone confirm for me if theirs works or not?
I have OpenSearch assigned to long press search, and since I always use the hardware keyboard, I need to close it, long press search, then open the keyboard. It's annoying.
I've looked at editing the qwerty.kl file in /system/user/keylayout, my idea was to try to redefine to search key on the keyboard (between left alt and @) to launch OpenSearch, but it apears that I can only redefine keys to other keys that way, not launch apps.

The other keys are all essentially flat, or very slightly curved upwards. The space though is really pretty depressed inwards. I don't think it's worn out, as I really haven't used it much yet.

Aug 3, 2010On Sunday I started getting the message "Low on space Phone Storage space is getting low." on the status bar. When I tap it, I'm taken to the "Manage Applications" screen, so it's clear that the message refers to the "Phone Memory," where apps are stored But when I go to Settings > SD card & phone storage here's what I see:
SD Card Total Space: 14.83GB
SD Card Available Space: 6.15GB
Internal Phone Storage Total Space: 6.60GB
Internal Phone Storage Available Space: 6.51GB
Phone Memory Total Space: 748MB
Phone Memory Available Space: 332MB
I've googled looking for solutions and it's obvious that this is a fairly common problem - especially on HTC phones. But the only possible solutions I've found are:
Too many apps are installed & space really is running low
A "bad" app was recently installed causing this error
Clear the cache for HTC Mail and HTC Message apps
Perform a Factory Reset We can rule this out since there is more than 44% of the Phone Memory available.
I didn't install any apps immediately before getting the message, but to be sure I uninstalled the 10 most recently added apps. No luck.
I've gone to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications, but the cache for these apps is already zero. The "Data" for Mail is 2.22MB and for Messages is 812KB.
This isn't fixing the problem, it's just a way to eliminate whatever condition has caused the symptom. But without an explanation of the actual problem I see no reason to think the problem won't come back in another two months.

The notification will not go away, I have tried rebooting my phone. I can't not stand it, its just one of my things, but it makes me want to not use my phone.
