Does anyone have any suggestions for a keyboard alternative for my Behold2 that will automatically place a space after a word selection? I am playing around with swype but I would like to have an alternate keyboard for inputting things like website addresses etc

Ive just got the G2 on a tmobile contract and am looking for applications to allow me to view word documents on my device. Ive seen DataViz's Documents to Go which Dataviz say are in the android market but on searching the android market im coming up with a blank i.e. its saying no app by that name can be found. Can anyone help or suggest an alternative to viewing word andor other MS files.

When entering in text and using the predictive text entry, when you select the word it always enters a space...if you're saving something it will append that space to the end of the filename making you have to hit the "X" Delete key to erase it. Is there any easy way to not have it input the space automatically (didn't see it in settings?).
Also how do you tell it to automatically put a period at the end of the word etc? I've done it by accident before but no idea how I did it!
I'm looking for a good alternative keyboard, for my Nexus one, I'm currently using the stock keyboard and its a bit annoying to use.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I was using my x10 when it was only 1.6, when you typed a letter using the android keyboard, it would give multiple word suggestions (ie. i - is, it, in, etc.) which helped a lot. But with 2.1, if I turn it's word suggestions, it only provides me with proper names or contact names. Any way to allow 2.1 to use word suggestions other than these proper/contact names? I don't like the default keyboard. Can no one help? I don't think I'm the only one with this problem.

The Spinner happily accepts icon image as drawable background. Unfortunately when I select a value the text overlays the background. Is it possible to set selection text color as a transparent? View 1 Replies View RelatedAt some point early on in my SF ownership, I accidentally pushed something that gave me a keyboard and word prediction that I like SO MUCH more than the little black box word prediction with Swype. I didn't download a 3rd party keyboard or anything. Problem is, I've somehow hit something again that has brought the black box popup word prediction and a different keyboard back. I've messed with every combination I can think of in Language and Keyboard, but can't seem to get the other keyboard back.
The keyboard I currently have is the one that has the letters and symbols on the same key. The one I like has just the letters on the keys and a symbol button to push to get just the symbols. The word recognition I want has a bar right about where you type that gives you suggestions and you can touch the suggestion you want and it will insert (it has the most likely suggestion in red, I think).
I make so many more typing mistakes with the black box prediction/current keyboard. Can someone tell me how to get the other way back?
I want to remove the word 'yo' from the keyboard because I don't use 'yo' and I hate whenever it accidentally autocorrects to 'yo' when I type in 'you'.
I know how to add words to the dictionary, but I can't seem to find the option to delete pre-inserted words from the keyboard.
i don't use the slider keyboard often, but found recently that a double space will automatically changed to a period. is this a common feature for a slider? is there anyway to turn that option off/on?

But I cant figure out how to get it every time the physical keyboard is open. Most of the time I get nothing but this is the second time I have seen this at the bottom. Anyone know what going on with this. There isn't a setting for it for built in keyboard settings page. I wish it would work all the time because it is a nice feature.

I currently pop up a custom dialog with an EditText in it. Currently the keyboard will only pop up when the user clicks "into" the EditText.
Is it possible to get the keyboard to pop up for the EditText as soon as the Dialog loads?
I have tried:

But it hasn't worked. Has anyone any ideas?
If people who have naked droids could just humor me for a second...when holding your droid sideways (keyboard side facing down), is there a minuscule gap between the two parts in that when you push down on the top part, it hits the bottom or is yours flush? I ask because after trying a myriad of clip on cases, I think i may have /stretched, widened the gap.

The EditText inside the dialog itself is automatically focused when I call AlertDialog.show(), but the soft keyboard is not automatically shown. How do I make the soft keyboard automatically show when the dialog is shown? (and there is no physical/hardware keyboard). Similar to how when I press the Search button to invoke the global search, the soft keyboard is automatically shown.
