Mar 2, 2012i can sync it easily with GB and froyo, but now ICS email app wants a PKCS#12 certificate in order for me to connect to outlook server.

Jul 16, 2012My exchange email has stopped. All of a sudden it stopped syncing and gave me an error. I removed the account and then re added the account and it says couldn't open connection to server. I am running paranoid android rom. I wiped cache and davlaich cache as well.

General :: Samsung Galaxy S - How To Connect To Exchange Email Server
Dec 17, 2012I have a co-worker who suddenly can not connect to her Exchange account via her phone. It mysteriously stopped syncing emails on Dec. 5, and since then the phone can not connect to the server. Error message reported is "Unable to connect to server." I even completely deleted the Exchange account from the phone and attempted to re-add it, but adding a new account failed with the same error message.
The weird thing is that the account worked perfectly fine before Dec. 5, and we can't think of anything that changed on the phone or on the server at that time. Meanwhile, other Android phones in our workplace continue to receive messages from the Exchange server, including my own Nexus 4 with the exact same server settings and another co-worker's Droid Razr.
The problem phone is a Samsung Galaxy S on US Cellular, running Android 2.3.6.

Is there some way to prevent it from syncing email? I only want the calendar to sync, but I can't find an option to disable email syncing. Any apps that can accomplish this?
Constantly syncing email all day is really draining on my battery.

Jan 2, 2013I started using Android 4.1.2 with its E-Mail App 4.1 and Exchange Services 5.0 (hope it is called like this, in German it is "Austauschdienste").
After setting up the connection to the Exchange server (works perfectly), I responded to an Email. Unfortunately, the Email didn't get marked with the tag/arrow answered in Outlook (in the app itself it got marked...). Before I used the app MailDroid. There it worked. Is there any possibility/explanation/wrong configuration, why the answered status is not synced?
General :: Unable To Configure 2 Exchange Accounts In Stock Email Client
Jun 6, 2012I have a Galaxy Nexus with Stock 4.0.4 ROM and a Transformer Prime also with the stock ASUS firmware (4.0.3), The company where I work has a mail server that supports exchange (Kerio Connect) At that server I have (because I need it that way) 2 different accounts, I need one of those accounts to synchronize everything; contacts, mail, calendar, and the other one to synchronize only calendar appointments.
If I configure the first account everything works just fine. But, when I configure the second account, I start receiving login errors for both accounts every certain time, the apps shows me the option to update my account credentials and when I do it works for the moment but after a while it fails again. If I delete whichever of the two accounts the other works fine.
I have not tested this scenario against other email servers, so I'm not sure if this a problem with my server or if this is an Android problem.
Both accounts are configured as Exchange accounts from Settings menu.

Oct 11, 2013Android default email client when connected to office wifi doesn't sync my e-mails while if i configures my exchange account in enhanced email it works absolutely fine and all my emails starts syncing on same office wifi.
I was having an offline chat with my system administrator and he told me that they have blocked something to avoid IP pool full issue ( new users were not able to connect to office wifi as almost everyone was using two IP, one on smartphone and one on laptop).
Question is how enhanced email client is able to sync? Can i make some changes in default android email client to make it sync.? My Edge connection is too slow to download emails and can't switch to 3g as it is a company provided connection.

Sep 8, 2010I notice my exchange email account does not allow folder sync other than the inbox. I see an app called Touchdown, but it appears to be a demo unless you shell out the cash for the app. Am I missing anything or is this the only avenue to get full exchange support?

Aug 21, 2010I succeeded in setting up exchange email on my nexus one.The things that bothers me a bit is that I can only select to sync emails from the last week/month/etc.In some cases I want to look at an old email to perform my work.It's great how with IMAP email you can scroll down and just press a button to read more emails. Is there anything similar for exchange? Or at least some workaround?

So I've been using my corporate Blackberry.. I rarely surf on the phone - if ever to just use it to quickly prove a point or get some basic GPS navigation. Basically I use it as a phone, email device and calendar. Occasionaly to take a picture too.
I've not been too excited to change until now.
I understand the Evo can be used as a mobile hotspot at 4g? WOW! Anybody using it to serve wifi for a PS3 online game from it ? does it really work?
What about corporate push email? Will it work with Exchange ActiveSync to keep my Outlook email and calendars current on the phone? What about Gmail and yahoo push email? Will pushing emails from these three servers drain my battery?
How widespread is the Sprint 4g network? Any chance of getting 4g in places like Gainesville, FL, Macon, GA, Helen, Georgia?

Some people say that the only way to get push notifications is to use the gmail app or a 3rd party app, and some people say you can use the stock HTC app and set things up through Exchange. Then some more people say that even setting it up through Exchange is a "pull" account as well, not push.However, what I don't see is hard core proof to back any of this up. I would imagine that there is documentation out there somewhere of what exactly is driving the email collection in the HTC Sense email app, and whether or not it is different for Exchange accounts.

May 25, 2010I have an HTC Incredible - all set up for the past two weeks without any issues with Microsoft Exchange and company email. All of a sudden, nothing is working. My yahoo account works - I can send and receive with out a problem. I just can't receive. I can send email from the droid (company email) back to my Microsoft Exchange account without any issues. Something isn't in sync. I have tried pulling the battery and trying to resync.

Aug 26, 2010I was just tinkering with my Droid Incredible's "Accounts & Sync" and I am confused about something. With the Gmail app, there is no option to designate how often to check do for messages because it's a push email client, good. But when I check my settings for Exchange, I am given options to select how often to sync. I was under the impression that Exchange ActiveSync is a push email service, meaning I shouldn't need to designate when I want it to sync because it pushes vs. pulling. Am I missing something here?

When forwarding an email the recepient receives the forwarded email as a .eml attachment. Aug 22, 2010Second time this has happened since I installed Froyo. For no apparent reaason, the Evo will just stop getting email from my Exchange account. No settings were changed or anything. The only way to get it back is to reset the phone to factory settings.

Jun 22, 2010When I first got my Evo, I had no problems setting up the HTC mail client with my work email, using Exchange. Due to random restarts, I had to do a hard reset, and now I keep getting "Failed to create the account. Please try again later." This has been happening for the past few days since I did the hard reset.
When I initially set it up, I just put in my work email and password and had no problems. Now, I've tried every configuration possible in both normal and manual setup. Anyone got any other ideas?

Jul 24, 2010Just notice that when I use the provided email app with exchange it forwards emails as attachment. So when I go to read the email in lets say yahoo all I see is an attachment file. Is there any way to make it forward the message in-line? If not is there an app that will allow me to do this? Does touchdown do this? Any other apps that are cheaper or free?
