View 5 Replies View RelatedI originally had an incredible but my fiance like it so much I swapped with her for the original moto droid. Well before that I had no problem putting custom alerts for email and text messages. Well now I have my own Incredible and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it again. Was something changed when the update to froyo went through or something? Someone help me out...I can't stand the preinstalled sounds.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to change the sound I hear when receiving a SMS message. I have successfully downloaded the BB sonar sound that I want to use.
I can't find the place to set the custom tone.
I see the list that the dx provides but no custom option.
I saw a link for this site on precentral.net and figured I'd stop on by, but while I was here I figured I'd ask a question
I envy the moto droid's SMS / alert notification tones, and want them on my Pre! I did a search and found the actual droid ringtones, but I'm more into getting the alert tones.
Has anyone extracted these from the phone and bundled them?
I am new to this community and to the lg spirit 4g phone. My calendar, email and text all have the same ringtone. I miss a lot of things because I can't hear the alert go off no matter what tone I use from the phone's memory.
Do you know how I change alert tones?.
Can you set custom tones for contacts calls and sms?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know you can change and have separate ringtones for separate contacts and separate notification tones for text vs email but can you have separate notifications for text messages? I would like to have my twitter messages as silent but all other text messages have an alert.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have a different tone for each contact on the stock android or with sense? I had a dumbphone back in the day that could do that, but my current lg versa doesn't and I have always wanted it. This is my first dive into android so I don't really know what comes stock and what doesn't.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been a Blackberry user for years, and finally ditched my old berry friend, for a Galaxy Nexus. Thus far, I have had to Google how to's for everything I've wanted to customize: ie ringtones, changing default tones, even the colour of my sms window. I've been able to figure everything out, but am stuck on creating custom tones for emails from specific contacts. With my trusted berry, custom tones for email and sms were linked together for my contacts. So whether I received a txt, or an email from "John", I would hear the specific tone I'd set for him. With my Nexus, I've learned the same is not true. I can only customize contact sounds for sms (and of course, only with an App, I really like Ringo btw). Emails, not so much. They all come in under the one tone, regardless of who it was from.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way I can backup my contacts/groups sms tones and ringtones settings?
I have assigned individual ringtones and sms tones to many contacts and groups on my S4 and sometimes after a restart, the phone reverts to default tones, so what I need is an app or utility to backup just these settings for me so I can restore them easily.
Have the phone. Went through all the fun of finding my own prefered ring tone - well I made it from a song, and another ring tone for other uses.
Set them up, set the "Message" tone, set the alarm tone and all was good.
It wasn't long after that I bought a SANDISC8 gig SD card.
Coppied ALL files over and swapped the cards.
I am not sure exactly WHEN the problem started, but it still exists.
Now and then the phone is in my pocket and it starts making a sound. It isn't one I selected, so ignore it until it becomes obvious it is mine as no-one else is talking on their phone.
I look and it is a message/phone call/alarm.
They are NOT the ones I set. So I go through the process of seting them back to what I like.
Someone says it could be a dicky SD card. I shall test that soon by putting back the original one and seeing what happens. The only problem with that is that it is SO INTERMITANT that it is hard to know if it is or not really the problem.
In the root of your SD card create the following folders
Notifications
Ringtones
Alarms
In these folders put your favourite MP3 files. You can now use these MP3 files as per the topic.
Notifications - Message tones and Notification tones
Ringtones - Your phone ringtones
Alarms - Your alarm mp3s
Using these folders there is no need to play the MP3 files first in Music Player.
I have just bought a HTC Desire. I was wondering if it is possible to have a different message alert tone for individual contacts?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for some better ring tones. I don't like songs as ring tones, I prefer more professional sounding effects. I've tried zedge, but just not getting anything I like out of it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried searching, but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Is there an app/or way to set different tones for different notifications? Like, a different sound for a text, different sound for a voicemail, different sound for an e-mail, etc.?
On my windows mobile phones this was possible...the EVO being my first android phone, it doesn't seem like it is. That stinks.
Was wondering if anyone knew a good place or a easy way to set a mp3 as a text message notification. When I select one now it plays to long so was wondering if there was a easy way or a site to go to that I can some how shorten a mp3 as a notification for text?

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody have the default ringtones for the Mytouch, or I suppose any Android phone would be the same, but does anyone have them? And the SMS tones? View 2 Replies View RelatedHTC Hero, 2.1 firmware, Handcent.I had Handcent installed even before the upgrade to 2.1 and when receiving an SMS message, there would be two notification tones. No problem at all on Email just the one notification tone but SMS seems to be the buggy object here. After the 2.1 upgrade, I'm still getting two notifications on SMS messages. And the two notifications thing still occurs WITHOUT Handcent its obviously because I have two different alerts set one for email and a different one for SMS and on receiving an SMS, BOTH tones play.is there a way to set up the notifications so that one tone plays for SMS notifications only, and the other plays for Email notifications only?

Everything works okay unless the number contains commas or hash signs, in which case the Uri gets truncated after the digits.
