Does anyone know about ringback tones on the Droid? When I got my Droid the sales Rep stated some benefits over my BB Storm were cheaper data plan, free visual vm, and free ringback tones. where do we get them? You can't thru Verizon site they said you need to use a Droid app , but I can't find any app?

I envy the moto droid's SMS / alert notification tones, and want them on my Pre! I did a search and found the actual droid ringtones, but I'm more into getting the alert tones.
Has anyone extracted these from the phone and bundled them?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have read a few threads about missing contacts but have not seen this mentioned.I set ring tones for a lot of my contacts, not all, maybe I'll get around to it one day.It seems that when I set a new song as a ring tone, one or more of my contacts end up with the new song for a ring tone. I noticed that the default would change to the new song but that is easy enough to reset.The problem with an already set contact is I don't know it until I get a call from them.

Under the main settings tab, the default notification tone is "silent." For some reason when I get a text message, I'm hearing "green tunnel" and "life mushroom" at the same time.

However, fire department and my wife I would like to assign seperate notification tones. In addition I would like to download ringtones other than the standard ones on the phone. View 8 Replies View RelatedHave the phone. Went through all the fun of finding my own prefered ring tone - well I made it from a song, and another ring tone for other uses.
Set them up, set the "Message" tone, set the alarm tone and all was good.
It wasn't long after that I bought a SANDISC8 gig SD card.
Coppied ALL files over and swapped the cards.
I am not sure exactly WHEN the problem started, but it still exists.
Now and then the phone is in my pocket and it starts making a sound. It isn't one I selected, so ignore it until it becomes obvious it is mine as no-one else is talking on their phone.
I look and it is a message/phone call/alarm.
They are NOT the ones I set. So I go through the process of seting them back to what I like.
Someone says it could be a dicky SD card. I shall test that soon by putting back the original one and seeing what happens. The only problem with that is that it is SO INTERMITANT that it is hard to know if it is or not really the problem.
In the root of your SD card create the following folders
Notifications
Ringtones
Alarms
In these folders put your favourite MP3 files. You can now use these MP3 files as per the topic.
Notifications - Message tones and Notification tones
Ringtones - Your phone ringtones
Alarms - Your alarm mp3s
Using these folders there is no need to play the MP3 files first in Music Player.
I just installed motorola media link on to my computer and it is amazing. I think this is a must download for all Motorola owners. It allows you to easily download music, photos, and more either on your phone or onto your computer from your phone. It also allows you to create ring tones and send them to your phone. Its like itunes for the iphone.

Anyways, what I was wondering is if I put all my apps on my SD card, what happens when/if I reflash my ROM? Will I have to wipe the SD card, reinstall the Apps and reback them up top the SD card? Or does it install once the SD card with the programs is inserted?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI go to "Settings" and then "Applications". Once in "Applications", I go to "Running Services" and turn off certain applications I am not using. How long are these applications supposed to stay off: Until I turn my phone back on again? Until I turn my display back on? I am trying to improve my battery life. I have turned off the background data and uninstalled the app killer. My display goes off after 30 seconds and I already have the brightness as low as it goes (I do this on every phone, I see no need to have a crazy bright screen).

I decided to go ahead and make the old droid call quality trick of switching to ERV-B, after which the phone resets. The weird part is that the battery came back to 70% after the reset.
