In the Froyo 2.2 Car Home, we apparently get 2 screens with 6 squares on each. Has anyone determined how to add personalized apps to the 3 empty squares?Is there any way to remove or re-arrange the existing icons? i.e. why is Maps on page 2, but Music on page 1.Any help greatly appreciated.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been reading this thread for a few days now alongside the vodafone one.I have had my phone for almost 2 weeks now and think it is really great, although one or two things annoy me especially trying to get used to the keyboard.I was hoping someone would be kind enough to help me with a few issues please.
1. I am not very techy and dont really understand a lot of the jargon used but would like to know the difference between 3g and wi fi and how do I know what I am using.
2. How do yo know how much memory your phone has and if you can add any more. I am frightened that all the photos, applications, videos, contacts etc etc that I will use too much memory.
3. How do yo delete shortcts that you have placed on your extra home screen.
4. How does this gprs thing work is that like having a sat nav?
5. How do yo get your hotmail to be sent to your phone I cant seem to work it out without have to just go to google type in msn hotmail then sign in that way.
6. My bluetooth doesnt work.
Can "tethering" on the EVO realistically replace a home internet connection on a desktop computer? I have 2 computers at home that rely on AT&T DSL for the internet (which is really slow). If I get an EVO, can I easily drop my DSL and instead use the EVO "tethering" feature? Is it complicated to use? That is, I sometimes just want to quickly check a website, and if it's hard to set up every time I want to use the internet on my desktop, it won't be worth it. Does it cost extra to "tether" the EVO to a home desktop computer?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI setup my Droid mail system with the Yahoo IMAP servers and everything seemed to be working fine.The only issue is when I send an email from the droid.I sent a test mail from the Droid and it worked fine.A couple of hours later, I checked my sent mail folder on Yahoo Mail on the PC and I had like 15 extra sent mails.It seems to add one every time the Droid checks for new mail, until I delete the sent mail of the droid.Any ideas?

I have tried setting, tapping, and holding the screen but none of those give me an option to remove the excess pages.
I have googled this issue but no luck and i am not in favour of installing another launcher.
Anyone plan on buying another battery? or know if VZM will offer a external battery charger similar to what I have for my palm? I use my cell phone a lot, and I would like to have one battery fully charged at all times in case I run out or am going out for the night. This is a fail proof method I have used on my palm for years.

Is there a way to add apps to the extra spaces on the car dock on 2.2? I've tried long-pressing the open space but nothing happens and the menu doesn't allow this either. It seems a waste of space if we can't.
On the car dock the "Car Home" was default to the home key on the Droid. If I backed out of Car Home to get to an app or something, I would just touch the Home key and it would get me back to car home.

Things like, skype, google search, and contacts for example. Any way to keep these from autostarting every 5 seconds... its like they start immediately after I kill them.

In fact, I've removed all beautiful widgets from all my home screens and home screen replacement apps. Yet for some reason I get the weather thing in my status bar as if I had Beautiful Home running. Since the 2.2 update, when I use a home switcher to use one of the replacements, my phone defaults back to the stock home screen when I hit the hardware home button on the bottom of my Moto Droid. Is there a setting I am missing to change this. Even when I select the replacement as "default" using the Home Switcher, it still reverts back to the stock one when I hit that home button.

It usually happens when I'm texting or using the Messaging widget on the home screen and today it has been happening very often!! Starting to get annoying.
While I understand the purpose of the CLIQ is its social networking aspects, I am thinking of buying this phone for my wife who does not use Facebook, etc. The reason for this phone is the keyboard, she is not fan of touch screen and I think the G1 is just too bulky. This brings me to my question: Is there a way I can kill all the networking settings and extra on screen buttons so it will be closer to the MyTouch that I have?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted Droid 2 and the Desk/Home dock. When I first tried it out, it worked as expected-starting the home dock screen when placed in the dock. However, I now find that whenever I dock the droid, the notification bar shows that it is connected to the multimedia dock but it does not start the dock application. I used Astro to browse the /system/apps folder and found the Dock app- clicked on Open App manager and then Launch at which point I get a message saying "Activity not found com.motorola.dlauncher". I don't know if this is why nothing is happening when I dock the Droid but can anyone tell me why this suddenly stopped working and what I can do to get it working again?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter the 2.1 OTA a lot of random photos were thrown in my photo album under separate files, I think one is named something like keyboard...and another one called icons maybe. They are just screen shots of the swype keyboard. I tried to delete them after I dl'd the Nexus Gallery (which is awesome btw thank you Androzoid) but they just came back. Has anyone else had this happen? I haven't tried to delete them yet straight from the SD card to see if that works. Is it okay to delete these or do they serve some purpose?
