Nov 3, 2009Anyone plan on buying another battery? or know if VZM will offer a external battery charger similar to what I have for my palm? I use my cell phone a lot, and I would like to have one battery fully charged at all times in case I run out or am going out for the night. This is a fail proof method I have used on my palm for years.

Aug 15, 2010Interesting....I start at 80% battery...insert the Dx into the official moto car dock and car charger...drive using nav for 3hrs and my battery is down to 50%. I also stream pandora simultaneously. I would expect the charger to keep up but it is a losing battle....

Jul 20, 2010My girlfriend and I both bought this phone from Verizon last Friday. We both let the battery run down completely before charging it up (which I was told by the Verizon rep was the "way to go"), and we have both been experiencing GOD AWFUL battery life. Strange battery behavior has included (but has not been limited to):
- Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours straight of browsing, playing games, etc., followed by the Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours of idle (with light texting and a few quick phone calls mixed in). Seemingly no consistency.
- Battery draining down to around 30% after about 8 hours off-charger with light to moderate use (a few web pages, a few apps downloaded, and about half a dozen texts). If this wasn't annoying enough, shortly after reaching 30%, the phone suddenly took a nosedive into the red, and warned me that I had 5% battery remaining.................
Motorola Droid :: Spare Battery - Solar Charger Or Powerpack?
Mar 3, 2010Looking forward to warmer weather in the NE US and thinking about nice long bike rides. I am psyched to have such a cool little GPS/computer/map system and plan to take the Droid on long rides. Some will be 3+ hours and I don't want to worry about running out of juice. Researching it looks like I have a few options and wanted to know what you all think. Mostly I think the droid will just sit in my Jersey pocket with screen off but tracking GPS. Occasionally I will check maps.
1- buy a spare battery - weight- not much, 1300 mAh - Downside, sometime during the ride I will need to swap batteries and restart GPS apps that I might be running. This would be really annoying so I think this is out as an option.
2- battery extender like Satechi iCel 4400 mAh Battery Extender. Pricey but would certainly give me enough ride time & gets excellent reviews
3 - Solio H1000 Universal Hybrid Charger Not as much power as the battery extender but I really like the idea of charging while I am out riding, although it seems to charge pretty slowly and needs direct sunlight. Even without serious sun it would probably provide enough of a charge for all but the longest rides. Gets "ok" reviews

I'd like to get a second battery and an external charger, this seems like a cheap solution while keeping OEM parts. The only thing I'm really questioning is the voltage output of the external charger to the battery. Any way to tell if it will charger correctly? If you know the answer, please provide reasoning.

My Droid was sitting on my desk next to me, it had about 80% battery life left, I get a few txt messages, and then its giving me the warning that my battery life is 15% and to plug it into the charger. Well I put it on the charger, and not even 30 seconds go by, and its fully charged. This has only happened once so far, but I am concerned is the battery slowly dying out, or is it just a glitch in the phone?

I've tried a car charger/battery unit by Wireless Gear that said it was compatible with all Samsung phones, it came with 5 power tips and a USB outlet that still would not work, even using the OEM USB cable. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will go with OEM Samsung if necessary, but there selection is limited.

Dec 21, 2009Hey, does anyone know if, or think that, they'll make a collapsible butterfly keyboard for the Droid? Sitting in it's dock it looks great If I could hook a "full-size" keyboard to it I'd use it as a bit of an emergency laptop when needed. It'd make handling e-mails much easier at the airport, etc. I used to use one all the time on my Palm PDA. With the much bigger screen here it makes much more sense.

As of now, I seem to be out of luck as to find a charger that will properly charge my phone when away from the normal means of charging. Has anyone used any portable batteries with their Droid? Right now, I have an APC Universal Battery 10WH and it doesn't charge my Droid at all. I am looking at the Just Mobile Gum Pro 4400mAh.
I have found that the Droids are very picky about where they get their charges from. I have a wall to usb and a car usb converter that doesn't work with mine or 3 other Moto Droids but will work with any other device that will charge via USB (iPod, GPS, other phones, etc.) Also, I have seen that the Minty Boost will charge the Droid, but their kits are backordered right now.
HTC Droid Eris :: Wall Charger - After Charging Battery Still Red
Dec 24, 2009My phone was dying so i charged it. Plug it in, 30 mins past so i went to check on it.
So i looked at it and battery is still red. And i am wonder what the heck. Everything is plug in where it should be.
Low and behold the chord connecting at the mini usb well let's just say the casing is ripping apart and the wire is exposed. I've had this phone for 3 weeks and this happens.
Verizon better give me a new charger. Also i've notice i always get Sense UI force closed and other apps force closed but if i close and start again it works.

I've seen the 3500mah seidio coming out, and I don't see how that would work because I NEED a case to protect my phone.I'm not trying to break the bank, looking to spend between 20-30, a regular battery same mAh as the regular would be fine, and preferably the OEM, but I can't seem to really find the OEM anywhere. I even looked for Touch Pro 2 OEM batteries but couldn't find any from quality sellers (sites I recognize and trust).I looked on Ebay and found two batteries and a dock charger for 10 bucks, and I've researched it and they seem to get generally positive reviews, but I'm still no sure about those, as I've heard horror stories about cheap batteries.So can anyone help me with my search for a battery, or possibly suggest some other ideas or give me some other advice? Nov 8, 2009I setup my Droid mail system with the Yahoo IMAP servers and everything seemed to be working fine.The only issue is when I send an email from the droid.I sent a test mail from the Droid and it worked fine.A couple of hours later, I checked my sent mail folder on Yahoo Mail on the PC and I had like 15 extra sent mails.It seems to add one every time the Droid checks for new mail, until I delete the sent mail of the droid.Any ideas?

To my surprise I got 2 extra bars of service right after I did *228, watched the bars go up while sitting in the same seat. Amazing, never thought it did much, but I am very surprised.
