Im having a problem with getting individual ringtones set up. I download a few from mabilo ringtones but when i set them to my contacts it only plays the default one. I tried re-writing the download with ringdroid but that didnt work either. Any help or advice.

This question has been tossed around, but not really answered directly for the incredible. It appears that Android on the Incredible is different, so opening a contact, (people) on the Inc is nto the same as the Droid and edit/ringtone is not available.Can anyone give me a step by step of how to assign a specific ringtone to someone in my people/(contact) list?

Now I am trying to link to them and all I get is library. Are the ringtones in the wrong location? The basic process of setting it to a contact (as listed in many places) doesnt seem to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally did a factory reset after installing the froyo update and now have my phone set up just about how it was before. Problem is,I have 180+ Google contacts sorted into 11 different groups and I want to assign a specific ringtone for each group. I did this some time ago before the upgrade for each individual contact but I just don't want to do it again. Yeah I'm lazy but what can I say I thought restoring my contacts would have kept the ringtones synced but it did not.I haven't found an app that will do it (a free app anyway).

Example:
I select February 20, 1982 and press OK
The field now shows February 19, 1982
Interestingly, when you save the contact, the correct date is shown in the field. That is, February 20, 1982
I want to be able to create a favorite contact for voice mail so I don't have to type a password, much like I used to be able to with ATT. I know pauses need added, but not sure how or where.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI got my Nexus a few days ago and now i seem to have found my first problem with it.You apparently cant assign ringtones to contacts.I have a g1 so I know how to do it on there but the option is no longer there on the Nexus one. Am I missing something or does it just not allow it anymore.If not does anyone know an application that will allow me to do this?

When I navigate to the MP3 that I want as my ringtone, I tap the menu button to find the "Set as" option, but that option seems to have been removed altogether! Am I missing something here, or have AT&T and/or Samsung decided that we're not allowed to set our personal MP3's as ringtones and therefore are forced to either do without, or buy them from wherever? Has anyone figured out a workaround and/or fix to this problem?

Is there an app for setting different ringtones for each person on SMS?
I'm looking for an app that sets specific actions (like changing ringtones, volume of notifications, e-mail notifies on/off) according to the SSID/availability of WiFi networks nearby. Pretty much like "locale" does for position, but tied to WiFi availability. The idea is that I can turn off e-mail alarms/notifies when I'm at home/work where I have a PC anyway (WiFi of home/work is detected) while automatically having them turned on when I leave the house (no wifi anymore).

How do we set a text message ringtone? When we text, all we get is a goofy little chime and the phones vibrate. I'll never hear that thing in my purse.I went to settings>notifications and set a soundbite I want to use after transferring it to the media>notifications folder, and when I get e-mails, it worked. But not for texting.
Also, what forum do I use for the double time? What is rooting, and do we need to do it? We got the phones through AT&T and they work fine so far. Also, we have wifi at home- does that still count against our 3g plan when we're using that to access the market while trying to figure this out?
How would one go about doing this with a Droid 2? I'm trying to add them so I can set ringtones for individual contacts, so when they call, I know who is calling me. View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my wife a Hero and everything works appart for this. I have copied my MP3 files into a Music folder on the SD card. I then used ringdroid to pick one of these and convert it into a ringtone and assigned it to a contact.This created the folder /media/audio/ringtones on the SD card which contained my new ringtone. I checked the contact in the People application and the ringtone is correctly assigned to them. This ringtone is also in the dropdown list so I can manually add it to other contacts in the People application.However whenever I ring the Hero from the phone associated with this contact I always get the default ringtone and not the custom one.
I have rebooted the device and this does not make a difference.I can set the new ringtone to be the default ringtone and then it plays, but for all users.I have tried everything here, including doing a factory reset for the phone, but I just cannot get this working and this is something my wife needs.
I had this problem in 2.1v2, I installed v3, and it first, all was well, then yesterday I noticed the same thing...none of my custom set ring tones are being used. phone always rings with the system default.
I can change that, and it rings that tone, but any I assign to a contact don't work.
I haven't installed any ring tone managers or anything, I can't think of what would be messing with it, but it is friggin annoying!
I have a nexus one and I'm looking for an app that will allow me to set my current music as notification and contact ringtones. I used to have one on my G1 a while back. I already have ringroid but don't want to have to create a new ringtone everytime i want another one.
