I have downloaded Mabilo sounds and assign a certain ringtone to my girl.It says it is assigned, but when she calls it goes to the default ringer.How do I keep that ringer assigned to her?

I got my Nexus a few days ago and now i seem to have found my first problem with it.You apparently cant assign ringtones to contacts.I have a g1 so I know how to do it on there but the option is no longer there on the Nexus one. Am I missing something or does it just not allow it anymore.If not does anyone know an application that will allow me to do this?

It appears that Android on the Incredible is different, so opening a contact, (people) on the Inc is nto the same as the Droid and edit/ringtone is not available.Can anyone give me a step by step of how to assign a specific ringtone to someone in my people/(contact) list?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having problems with setting MP3's as ringtones? I sure am! When I navigate to the MP3 that I want as my ringtone, I tap the menu button to find the "Set as" option, but that option seems to have been removed altogether! Am I missing something here, or have AT&T and/or Samsung decided that we're not allowed to set our personal MP3's as ringtones and therefore are forced to either do without, or buy them from wherever? Has anyone figured out a workaround and/or fix to this problem?

Is there an app for setting different ringtones for each person on SMS?
I'm looking for an app that sets specific actions (like changing ringtones, volume of notifications, e-mail notifies on/off) according to the SSID/availability of WiFi networks nearby. Pretty much like "locale" does for position, but tied to WiFi availability. The idea is that I can turn off e-mail alarms/notifies when I'm at home/work where I have a PC anyway (WiFi of home/work is detected) while automatically having them turned on when I leave the house (no wifi anymore).

How do we set a text message ringtone? When we text, all we get is a goofy little chime and the phones vibrate. I'll never hear that thing in my purse.I went to settings>notifications and set a soundbite I want to use after transferring it to the media>notifications folder, and when I get e-mails, it worked. But not for texting.
Also, what forum do I use for the double time? What is rooting, and do we need to do it? We got the phones through AT&T and they work fine so far. Also, we have wifi at home- does that still count against our 3g plan when we're using that to access the market while trying to figure this out?
In my previous phone I could set different ringtones for those in my contacts list and then another ringtone for those numbers not in my contacts list so I could tell by the ringtone if someone was calling that was in my contacts list or not.On the Hero there doesn't seem to be any way to do this.I was also able to set different volume levels for various notifications (ie, louder for phone calls and quieter for email and sms notifications).Does anyone know if this is possible on the hero?

I have tones already picked out and saved to my Gmail account. I thought I would be able to set them from there, but it turns out that's not possible. I can set the default ringtone to something different and that works, but when I try to change it for one specific contact it still play the default one. I have tried changing it in the contact it self, i changed it from the app i downloaded, and i even set it using the music player. I don't know if it is something wrong with the phone or if its is something with 2.1. I went back to best buy where i got it and the one of the workers said the same thing happened to his hero and incredible when he updated to 2.1.

For some reason it wants me to create yet another ringtone from the already created one if I want to assign it to a contact again.I cant seem to find the option to just assign a ringtone to a contact.I think installing Zedge as well may have wiped my existing custom ones I did.Is there not a way in the system to assign ringtones to contacts without an app? I've googled and done searches and manually looked through the threads here on AF I even checked the documentation the X came with. My Fiancee just got the X and was setting it up and she was looking for a way to set up individual ringtones for certain contacts the way she had them set up on her Droid but there doesn't seem to be an option to do it on the X. I did go to People -> click contact name that I want to change -> under Information tap, click Ringtone -> change ringtone. But, it doesn't work. I have two cell phones so I did try. I thought that ringtone that I made was wrong, but I go to Setting -> Personalize -> change default ringtone for same MP3 file. it works! However, I couldn't make it for specific contact. Is there any thing that I did it wrong or should I turn on or off something?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a new member; I've had my Fascinate for about 2 weeks.Last night I tried to do something that seems simple: set a song as a ringtone for a specific contact. The procedure is given on page 75 of the manual. But it doesn't work.When I try it, I get a screen that says to press Menu and touch "Get friends" or "Accounts". But pressing Menu does nothing.I've gone through and activated sync for all accounts (and run sync multiple times), and my contacts DO all show up when I select "Contacts" from the home screen, but the manual's procedure still fails as described above.
