Does anyone know why my emails, with the HTC mail client, keep disappearing? They only stay for about a day or 2 then disappearing. It is set to ask before deleting and no limit size. I cannot find any other option that would change this. Does anyone know why my emails delete on me?

My Email is deleting itself off my Inc. Both pop3 and Exchange I have it set to leave mail on server from my computer but after a few days it disappears from my phone. It is still on my computer and on the mail server but not the phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have started to have e-mails disappear on my HTC EVO. I've exhaustively looked at the settings on the EVO and in Outlook. Those appear to be okay; although I'm not certain. I also suspect perhaps a setting in Mailwasher Pro could be involved.The e-mails on the EVO seem to go away after I have successfully downloaded and viewed in Outlook and on the handheld. They disappear on the EVO after I then mark, and execute, all e-mails for deletion in Mailwasher.By the way, this started happening after I installed K-9 e-mail client on the EVO.However, I have gone back to using the standard EVO e-mail program. Having same problem with both programs.Wondering if maybe I should uninstall K-9. One test I did was to send an e-mail from one of my pop accounts to my gmail account. I allowed it to pass through Mailwasher downloaded and viewed it in Gmail on PC. Then, marked it for deletion in Mailwasher ran it through and it disappeared in Gmail on PC.
Any ideas?
I have the Sprint EVO and also have att as an internet provider. My phone goes out and gets my email from both att and gmail. (Phone is set to leave email on server) The messages one the phone are there to read, reply, delete...normal stuff. But when I turn on my desktop using Outlook (which is set to delete the emails AFTER retrieving them), all the emails are gone from my phone. It didn't use to do that. Is there a way to fix this?

2. I get the notification OK.
3. The email applications says "RedMist________________(1)"
4. So I click on RedMist, and then Inbox
5. It shows the email subject and then, within 1 or 2 seconds, the email disappears. without me clicking to view the email.
6. No matter what i do i cannot view this email again.
My emails constantly disappear. Gmail works fine, but I need my work emails too. My work does not use exchange server it is imap. I use the default android email and k9 email and they both disappear. I also notice that I get only 1 email then when I check my laptop I may have 10 in the inbox. What's up with androids email? I love my epic but coming from a blackberry I can honestly say android email is crap. Does anyone know what to do or have this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just move from the Iphone 4 to the S4 and am trying to set it up. I'm failing miserably with email.
I use Virgin.net email but have it downloaded to Outlook and it is deleted from the server when I do this.
I want to access the same emails on my phone - well, those emails that have not yet been downloaded from the server. So for example, if I'm not at home and laptop is switched off (not accessing Outlook) then I can get the emails to my phone until I get home and download them to laptop. When I download them to my phone I want to leave a copy on the server for Outlook to get.
So............... I've manually set up email using pop3 settings on S4.
An email will download to my inbox on the phone...... but then when I next go in to check emails on phone those that have been downloaded just disappear?
Delete email from server is set as never in the settings. And outlook on my laptop is turned off so emails are not being downloaded there.
Why are my emails auto deleting and where re they going. How do I stop this?

I had a very very very vitally important email sent to me yesterday, and after viewing it, it just vanished. Gone for good. I can't find it. I've checked every folder, I've checked All Mail, I've checked trash, I've checked spam, drafts, everywhere. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've had an email vanish in the past 3 months. Completely gone, as if it never existed, without me deleting it.Has anyone else experienced this with Gmail? I know a few people who don't use Gmail for this very reason, but I thought they were crazy, now it's happening to me. HELP! I need that email back
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally got my email up and running. Now two different times my mailbox simply emptied. The account was still there and fine, bu tthe emails just went back to 0/0. They are not in Trash, they are gone. I am not sure what I am doing to make the mailbox empty. I tried switching to K-9 but for some reason when I was using K-9 any attachments came in as dat files and I was unoable to view pdf's or Word docs etc when using K-9. Anyone deal with this yet?
View 2 Replies View RelatedInteresting problem that I seem to have had out of the box (and which has started when I traded my old treo in for this android device): emails regularly disappear both from my Note, the exchange server and thus everywhere else as well, without any intervention on my part. My Note notifies me of new email, I glance at the overview, and sometimes no more than a few minutes later, that new email is completely gone.
Another interesting feature that popped up during testing is that emails sent from the device to this very account do appear in the sent items list both on the device and on the exchange server, but *only* at the inbox on the android device. And as with some of the regular incoming emails, these too disappear. As external emails (i.e. sent from for example gmail) thus far seem to stick, I am suspecting an issue with either activesync itself or exchange and activesync, but I can't be sure.
Noticed a few other threads both here and elsewhere about disappearing emails, but most (if not all) of these seem to be about POP3 where part of the default routine is of course deleting from the server. apps at issue:
- Android 2.3.6 and 4.0 (problem stayed after the upgrade)
- Default mail client on both versions (this particular exchange account has thus far proven a bit troublesome to configure with for example k-9 and touchdown)
- Exchange Server 2007 server / activesync
I want to know if anyone is experiencing the same issue and if they have any fixes. I lost all of my text messages three times since getting the phone last Wednesday. The first time, someone was trying to send me an MMS. It didn't go through, and caused a Force Close (for which you have no choice but to select OK). After the error, all my previous text messages were gone. I immediately installed SMS Backup and SMS Backup and Restore. I like that SMS Backup is almost instantaneous back-up (to your Google account), but you cannot restore the messages to the phone. SMS Backup and Restore will back up your messages to your SDcard and restore, but it only runs at a pre-selected time (unless you manually sync before the selected time). Twice after the first error, I've been in the middle of texting and received the Force Close due to "Message Download Failure"; and after both times I lost all messages again. I was able to restore the older messages, but not the ones sent and received after the backup schedule. The only thing I've done is used SWYPE instead of the stock keyboard. But this seems like a network error.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have my email, calendar, and contacts set up through activesync exchange. So when you add someone from your phone, it gets pushed to your outlook as well as vice versa.
I've been adding this one contact on my phone for the last few times, and after few days his contact simply disappears.
I've tried adding his contact both on the phone as well as on Outlook, and when he calls, his name would show, but after few days, it stops showing the name but just the number, and when i go back to my contact, he's no longer listed there.
How come every time I reboot my phone, my ringtones that I have created and set disappear? I use rings extended to change my notification ringtone and I use the stock ringtone maker in the music app that comes with the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf anyone experienced this issue� I have this 1 contact with a horrible Facebook picture, so I have created a new contact for her and linked her Facebook etc., and then changed her picture to a different picture. The new picture has updated in my favorite list as well as my overall contact list. A few days later I get a text from her and she is an unknown contact. Only a number shows no picture or name. So, I go to look for her and she is no longer there under my people's contact list. She is under my favorites still with the old Facebook picture and no number or email, just the Facebook account. I have re-entered her twice since then and the same thing keeps happening. For the time being I just gave up and kept the other picture, but this is definitely a bug imo.

They'll stay for a day or two, then the contact will just disappear (not in phone or Gmail online). I've tried re-saving numerous times, same result. Then I decided to just enter them in my contacts in Gmail, and it worked for only one.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThree times in the last week contact info has disappeared from my google contacts/phone (Incredible). Twice, with different contacts, the home phone numbers just disappeared from both the phone and my google account. Last Saturday I entered a completely new contact info for a friend (incl. a picture) and on Sunday the contact was gone both from my phone and my google account. I always enter this information on my computer via google contacts and then it does get successfully synced to my Incredible and is available for a while.
When the contact disappears it's gone both from my phone and my google account info, it doesn't show in "all contacts" either - it's gone for good. I have created a groupd called "New Friends" where these contacts were placed. I belive they are still also automatically part of "My Contacts". It's been easy to notice the disappearance since I only have a few contacts in this "New Friends" group. I worry about this happening, esp if it's not easy to notice. I've seen other threads with this type of problem over the years when I searched, but there doesn't seem to be a solution for this rather serious problem.
why do my contacts disappear from the all category when added to my other categories like friends, vendors, family? it is driving me nuts.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having issues with widgets disappearing after the Froyo update? It's not that they disappear off of the home screen; but that they are just gone. For example, PDANet, it's installed and working. I used to have the widget option and had it on my screen. Now, the app is still installed, but I no longer have the option to add the widget. It's not listed in the available widgets. This has also happened with the Mint.com widget.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo last night I went to change my battery and when the phone booted back up, a lot of programs were not installed anymore and I was getting about 3 other programs that were force closing right away when it came on.I tried to reinstall the apps, but I was still getting some force closes and general funny stuff going on.So I factory reset it and started from scratch again today. I got most of my apps reinstalled and thought it was fine. Then just a little while ago, I noticed that I couldn't browse the Internet or use the market. I rebooted and it was fine.A little while later I went to use my phone to make a call and when I unlocked it, all my home screens were blank! Reboot again and that fixed it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen Froyo came in, I noticed the Exchange calendar became `combined' with the Google calendar. This was a bit alarming, as I don't use the Google calendar and the Exchange account completely disappeared.
I re-setup the Exchange account and spent some time coaxing it to sync the calendar.
Every few days I get a notice that the email service requires a FC and the Exchange account disappears. Start again from Go.
I have Sync turned off, as well as auto app sync. I do not pull mail unless I need it. Calendar and Contacts are set to sync when I turn on Sync. Not sure if this impacts anything but this only started after Froyo. Getting tired of replacing the Exchange acct.
I recently changed the storage location on my Incredible's camera from Phone Storage to Storage Card (i.e., my SD card). Yesterday I decided to move the previsouly taken photos "IMAG*.jpg" from the phone storage to the SD card and used the Astro app to perform this move. I made the mistake of using "move" rather than "copy-paste". Something went wrong and somehow none of the "imag*.jpg" that were previously on my phone's internal storage are neither there nor on the SD card.
Where could these files have disappeared to? Is there a "Trash" folder in Android like in Windows where these jpg files could be still hidden? Anyway to recover them? Using the search feature on Astro didn't reveal any of the newly disappeared jpg files.
Here's what I did using the Astro app:
step 1: navigated to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA
step 2: clicked on multi and selected all the jpg files there (about 15 or so), i.e., all file names turned orange.
step 3: clicked on Edit, selected Move.
step 4: navigated to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA which already had a few images that I had taken since changing the default storage location in my camera.
step 5: clicked on EDIT, selected Paste.
That's when I got a message saying "unable to move" or some such error - I don't recall the exact words and I had to click ok only for the same error to appear again some 15 more times. I guess it appeared once per image.
I went back to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA (the phone storage location) and to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA (SD card location) but the files aren't there in either location. Please note that I'm a noob to Android having only used Windows Mobile OS phones in the past. I appreciate any help and insight in this matter so that I don't loose files more important than some randomly taken pics.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI use outlook 2003 for my email. If outlook is closed on my computer, I get all of my email to my phone. If outlook is open on my computer, I do not get my emails on my phone. Does anyone know how to fix this so I can always get my emails whether outlook is open or not? I think when my local computer receives an email, it removes it from my ISP server. I don't know if this makes any difference or not.
