HTC Incredible :: Disappearing Contact - Replicated 3x

If anyone experienced this issue� I have this 1 contact with a horrible Facebook picture, so I have created a new contact for her and linked her Facebook etc., and then changed her picture to a different picture. The new picture has updated in my favorite list as well as my overall contact list. A few days later I get a text from her and she is an unknown contact. Only a number shows no picture or name. So, I go to look for her and she is no longer there under my people's contact list. She is under my favorites still with the old Facebook picture and no number or email, just the Facebook account. I have re-entered her twice since then and the same thing keeps happening. For the time being I just gave up and kept the other picture, but this is definitely a bug imo.

I have my email, calendar, and contacts set up through activesync exchange. So when you add someone from your phone, it gets pushed to your outlook as well as vice versa.
I've been adding this one contact on my phone for the last few times, and after few days his contact simply disappears.
I've tried adding his contact both on the phone as well as on Outlook, and when he calls, his name would show, but after few days, it stops showing the name but just the number, and when i go back to my contact, he's no longer listed there.

Three times in the last week contact info has disappeared from my google contacts/phone (Incredible). Twice, with different contacts, the home phone numbers just disappeared from both the phone and my google account. Last Saturday I entered a completely new contact info for a friend (incl. a picture) and on Sunday the contact was gone both from my phone and my google account. I always enter this information on my computer via google contacts and then it does get successfully synced to my Incredible and is available for a while.
When the contact disappears it's gone both from my phone and my google account info, it doesn't show in "all contacts" either - it's gone for good. I have created a groupd called "New Friends" where these contacts were placed. I belive they are still also automatically part of "My Contacts". It's been easy to notice the disappearance since I only have a few contacts in this "New Friends" group. I worry about this happening, esp if it's not easy to notice. I've seen other threads with this type of problem over the years when I searched, but there doesn't seem to be a solution for this rather serious problem.

For my closest contacts, I use the People widget that shows a "big" thumbnail photo for each contact. Most of my contacts are set to display their Facebook profile photo, and yes I'm one of the ones who has complained to HTC about it not updating.
However, a couple of days ago I noticed my Dad's picture had gone missing. He's not on Facebook, but his photo is synced to his Google Account picture. But now there's just the standard grey "no photo" icon. He definitely hasn't updated his photo, it's still there in Google Talk.
Just today I've noticed that 4 more people on this small contact list have also lost their photos. Weirder still, those contacts all have their picture set to Facebook ...
I've just run a "sync all" on my Desire and only one of those contact photos came back. A few still show the "no photo" icon.
Even weirder, is that other contact photos on the list did update to the most recent Facebook photo! Weird. I'll keep track to see if they update automatically. I don't have high hopes. (and my own profile pic still hasn't updated from a month ago)
(the sync all has also reset heaps of my contacts names back from their Google contact name to their Facebook or Google Account name.

I have managed to set up my HTC Desire with my POP Yahoo account with no problems but when I delete a mail from either Yahoo or HTC the action is not replicated on the other.

Does anyone know why my emails, with the HTC mail client, keep disappearing? They only stay for about a day or 2 then disappearing. It is set to ask before deleting and no limit size. I cannot find any other option that would change this. Does anyone know why my emails delete on me?

I want to know if anyone is experiencing the same issue and if they have any fixes. I lost all of my text messages three times since getting the phone last Wednesday. The first time, someone was trying to send me an MMS. It didn't go through, and caused a Force Close (for which you have no choice but to select OK). After the error, all my previous text messages were gone. I immediately installed SMS Backup and SMS Backup and Restore. I like that SMS Backup is almost instantaneous back-up (to your Google account), but you cannot restore the messages to the phone. SMS Backup and Restore will back up your messages to your SDcard and restore, but it only runs at a pre-selected time (unless you manually sync before the selected time). Twice after the first error, I've been in the middle of texting and received the Force Close due to "Message Download Failure"; and after both times I lost all messages again. I was able to restore the older messages, but not the ones sent and received after the backup schedule. The only thing I've done is used SWYPE instead of the stock keyboard. But this seems like a network error.

How come every time I reboot my phone, my ringtones that I have created and set disappear? I use rings extended to change my notification ringtone and I use the stock ringtone maker in the music app that comes with the phone.

I've saved some contacts (from a text message and the other from a phone call), and linked them to my Google account. They'll stay for a day or two, then the contact will just disappear (not in phone or Gmail online). I've tried re-saving numerous times, same result. Then I decided to just enter them in my contacts in Gmail, and it worked for only one.

My Email is deleting itself off my Inc. Both pop3 and Exchange I have it set to leave mail on server from my computer but after a few days it disappears from my phone. It is still on my computer and on the mail server but not the phone.

Anyone else having issues with widgets disappearing after the Froyo update? It's not that they disappear off of the home screen; but that they are just gone. For example, PDANet, it's installed and working. I used to have the widget option and had it on my screen. Now, the app is still installed, but I no longer have the option to add the widget. It's not listed in the available widgets. This has also happened with the Mint.com widget.

So last night I went to change my battery and when the phone booted back up, a lot of programs were not installed anymore and I was getting about 3 other programs that were force closing right away when it came on.I tried to reinstall the apps, but I was still getting some force closes and general funny stuff going on.So I factory reset it and started from scratch again today. I got most of my apps reinstalled and thought it was fine. Then just a little while ago, I noticed that I couldn't browse the Internet or use the market. I rebooted and it was fine.A little while later I went to use my phone to make a call and when I unlocked it, all my home screens were blank! Reboot again and that fixed it.

When Froyo came in, I noticed the Exchange calendar became `combined' with the Google calendar. This was a bit alarming, as I don't use the Google calendar and the Exchange account completely disappeared.
I re-setup the Exchange account and spent some time coaxing it to sync the calendar.
Every few days I get a notice that the email service requires a FC and the Exchange account disappears. Start again from Go.
I have Sync turned off, as well as auto app sync. I do not pull mail unless I need it. Calendar and Contacts are set to sync when I turn on Sync. Not sure if this impacts anything but this only started after Froyo. Getting tired of replacing the Exchange acct.

I recently changed the storage location on my Incredible's camera from Phone Storage to Storage Card (i.e., my SD card). Yesterday I decided to move the previsouly taken photos "IMAG*.jpg" from the phone storage to the SD card and used the Astro app to perform this move. I made the mistake of using "move" rather than "copy-paste". Something went wrong and somehow none of the "imag*.jpg" that were previously on my phone's internal storage are neither there nor on the SD card.
Where could these files have disappeared to? Is there a "Trash" folder in Android like in Windows where these jpg files could be still hidden? Anyway to recover them? Using the search feature on Astro didn't reveal any of the newly disappeared jpg files.
Here's what I did using the Astro app:
step 1: navigated to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA
step 2: clicked on multi and selected all the jpg files there (about 15 or so), i.e., all file names turned orange.
step 3: clicked on Edit, selected Move.
step 4: navigated to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA which already had a few images that I had taken since changing the default storage location in my camera.
step 5: clicked on EDIT, selected Paste.
That's when I got a message saying "unable to move" or some such error - I don't recall the exact words and I had to click ok only for the same error to appear again some 15 more times. I guess it appeared once per image.
I went back to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA (the phone storage location) and to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA (SD card location) but the files aren't there in either location. Please note that I'm a noob to Android having only used Windows Mobile OS phones in the past. I appreciate any help and insight in this matter so that I don't loose files more important than some randomly taken pics.

I have done a search for this and I have not found answer. I have inadvertently created some of my contacts as phone contacts instead of google contacts. The main negative of this is that I can not sync these contacts. Does anyone know of way to change the contact type? My phone is rooted if that makes a difference.In another thread relating to this someone mentioned an app that fixes this but I could not find it. Does anyone know of the app?

I am some facebook contacts that don't have phone numbers on their fb accounts so I go to People and then click Add Contact, I enter their name and number and then I hit save. I then have to search for the contact and then edit and link them. Is there a more efficient way to do this? For instance, is there a way to link a contact from the "Add contact" form instead of hitting save and then searching for the contact you just saved?

How do I set a contact ringtone?The manual makes it seem like you pull up the ringtone in the music app and then hit menu->set ringtone.I can't find my sdcard/ringtone files when I go through the music app. If I go through astro and load the ringtone in music, I don't get that option.I even tried this for the ringtone that is my default ringer and that doesn't give me the option either, but I know it's a valid to be used as a ringtone, since it is my default ringtone.

I've backed up my contacts and phone numbers and all that stuff in like 5 different ways BUT is there a way to back up the pictures I've saved for each of my contacts? If not, does anyone know where the folder is located that saves those thumbnails so i can just copy it to my computer?

I couldn't find a thread in the Incredible forum, so here goes. I'm loving my phone, and I love how it pulls photos and contacts from Facebook, Gmail, etc.However, A lot of my friends are already changing their pictures, and the phone isn't updating them on my favorites, or in my actual phonebook/contact list. I know how to manually set the picture, but I want it to re-pull new photos from Facebook. Any ideas?

I added a few numbers and names to my contacts and a few hours later when I went to view the contact list one of the names was on the screen inside a transparent black box and wouldn't clear even though i could scroll through the list. Has anyone had this happen? I want to know how or why it was there. It took restarting the phone to clear it.

I have an issue where someone in my favorites group of contacts and is not showing up when I got to "People" and select "ALL".This is the second time this has happened to me and the only way I know how to fix it is to delete the contact and then add them back. Anybody else run into this isssue and know a better way to fix it?I'm on stock 2.2 but this happened in stock 2.1 also.

Im having a problem with getting individual ringtones set up. I download a few from mabilo ringtones but when i set them to my contacts it only plays the default one. I tried re-writing the download with ringdroid but that didnt work either. Any help or advice.

This question has been tossed around, but not really answered directly for the incredible. It appears that Android on the Incredible is different, so opening a contact, (people) on the Inc is nto the same as the Droid and edit/ringtone is not available.Can anyone give me a step by step of how to assign a specific ringtone to someone in my people/(contact) list?

I was wondering how I can place a contact that was synced to my phone through facebook into a group.When I click these contacts the only options available are "All" "Link" and "Set Speed Dial".I have a large number of contacts from facebook (close to 500) and I want to separate those people into groups, for example: college, favorites, family, etc.I've searched the forum and can't seem to find the answer so if it has been asked before I apologize.
