My Email is deleting itself off my Inc. Both pop3 and Exchange I have it set to leave mail on server from my computer but after a few days it disappears from my phone. It is still on my computer and on the mail server but not the phone.

Does anyone know why my emails, with the HTC mail client, keep disappearing? They only stay for about a day or 2 then disappearing. It is set to ask before deleting and no limit size. I cannot find any other option that would change this. Does anyone know why my emails delete on me?
View 3 Replies View Relatedevery time I have looked at the market comments for my app over the last few days some more comments have disappeared. This is whether I look on the phone or on the developer console.Unfortunately the comments that Google has chosen to 'lose' are my most favourable comments leaving several "This app suxss" type comments by the usual Neanderthals who like to be abusive. I have checked with a helpful user who left a positive comment and they have not removed them themselves or de-installed so what is going on? It is seriously hurting my downloads/sales and the impression that potential users of my app see when they look on the market. I have emailed Google but no reply yet.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with my emails in the native Eris email app deleting after a few days. I have tried every setting that I can think of to get this to stop but no luck. The Gmail app does not delte the messages like the nmative app does. I have the native app set up with my work email and I need to keep messages around until I delete them. Just to stress have no problems with Gmail deleting just the native app which I have set up exclusively to my work email.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have started to have e-mails disappear on my HTC EVO. I've exhaustively looked at the settings on the EVO and in Outlook. Those appear to be okay; although I'm not certain. I also suspect perhaps a setting in Mailwasher Pro could be involved.The e-mails on the EVO seem to go away after I have successfully downloaded and viewed in Outlook and on the handheld. They disappear on the EVO after I then mark, and execute, all e-mails for deletion in Mailwasher.By the way, this started happening after I installed K-9 e-mail client on the EVO.However, I have gone back to using the standard EVO e-mail program. Having same problem with both programs.Wondering if maybe I should uninstall K-9. One test I did was to send an e-mail from one of my pop accounts to my gmail account. I allowed it to pass through Mailwasher downloaded and viewed it in Gmail on PC. Then, marked it for deletion in Mailwasher ran it through and it disappeared in Gmail on PC.
Any ideas?
I have the Sprint EVO and also have att as an internet provider. My phone goes out and gets my email from both att and gmail. (Phone is set to leave email on server) The messages one the phone are there to read, reply, delete...normal stuff. But when I turn on my desktop using Outlook (which is set to delete the emails AFTER retrieving them), all the emails are gone from my phone. It didn't use to do that. Is there a way to fix this?

2. I get the notification OK.
3. The email applications says "RedMist________________(1)"
4. So I click on RedMist, and then Inbox
5. It shows the email subject and then, within 1 or 2 seconds, the email disappears. without me clicking to view the email.
6. No matter what i do i cannot view this email again.
My emails constantly disappear. Gmail works fine, but I need my work emails too. My work does not use exchange server it is imap. I use the default android email and k9 email and they both disappear. I also notice that I get only 1 email then when I check my laptop I may have 10 in the inbox. What's up with androids email? I love my epic but coming from a blackberry I can honestly say android email is crap. Does anyone know what to do or have this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just move from the Iphone 4 to the S4 and am trying to set it up. I'm failing miserably with email.
I use Virgin.net email but have it downloaded to Outlook and it is deleted from the server when I do this.
I want to access the same emails on my phone - well, those emails that have not yet been downloaded from the server. So for example, if I'm not at home and laptop is switched off (not accessing Outlook) then I can get the emails to my phone until I get home and download them to laptop. When I download them to my phone I want to leave a copy on the server for Outlook to get.
So............... I've manually set up email using pop3 settings on S4.
An email will download to my inbox on the phone...... but then when I next go in to check emails on phone those that have been downloaded just disappear?
Delete email from server is set as never in the settings. And outlook on my laptop is turned off so emails are not being downloaded there.
Why are my emails auto deleting and where re they going. How do I stop this?

I had a very very very vitally important email sent to me yesterday, and after viewing it, it just vanished. Gone for good. I can't find it. I've checked every folder, I've checked All Mail, I've checked trash, I've checked spam, drafts, everywhere. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've had an email vanish in the past 3 months. Completely gone, as if it never existed, without me deleting it.Has anyone else experienced this with Gmail? I know a few people who don't use Gmail for this very reason, but I thought they were crazy, now it's happening to me. HELP! I need that email back
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally got my email up and running. Now two different times my mailbox simply emptied. The account was still there and fine, bu tthe emails just went back to 0/0. They are not in Trash, they are gone. I am not sure what I am doing to make the mailbox empty. I tried switching to K-9 but for some reason when I was using K-9 any attachments came in as dat files and I was unoable to view pdf's or Word docs etc when using K-9. Anyone deal with this yet?
View 2 Replies View RelatedInteresting problem that I seem to have had out of the box (and which has started when I traded my old treo in for this android device): emails regularly disappear both from my Note, the exchange server and thus everywhere else as well, without any intervention on my part. My Note notifies me of new email, I glance at the overview, and sometimes no more than a few minutes later, that new email is completely gone.
Another interesting feature that popped up during testing is that emails sent from the device to this very account do appear in the sent items list both on the device and on the exchange server, but *only* at the inbox on the android device. And as with some of the regular incoming emails, these too disappear. As external emails (i.e. sent from for example gmail) thus far seem to stick, I am suspecting an issue with either activesync itself or exchange and activesync, but I can't be sure.
Noticed a few other threads both here and elsewhere about disappearing emails, but most (if not all) of these seem to be about POP3 where part of the default routine is of course deleting from the server. apps at issue:
- Android 2.3.6 and 4.0 (problem stayed after the upgrade)
- Default mail client on both versions (this particular exchange account has thus far proven a bit troublesome to configure with for example k-9 and touchdown)
- Exchange Server 2007 server / activesync
I recently changed the storage location on my Incredible's camera from Phone Storage to Storage Card (i.e., my SD card). Yesterday I decided to move the previsouly taken photos "IMAG*.jpg" from the phone storage to the SD card and used the Astro app to perform this move. I made the mistake of using "move" rather than "copy-paste". Something went wrong and somehow none of the "imag*.jpg" that were previously on my phone's internal storage are neither there nor on the SD card.
Where could these files have disappeared to? Is there a "Trash" folder in Android like in Windows where these jpg files could be still hidden? Anyway to recover them? Using the search feature on Astro didn't reveal any of the newly disappeared jpg files.
Here's what I did using the Astro app:
step 1: navigated to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA
step 2: clicked on multi and selected all the jpg files there (about 15 or so), i.e., all file names turned orange.
step 3: clicked on Edit, selected Move.
step 4: navigated to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA which already had a few images that I had taken since changing the default storage location in my camera.
step 5: clicked on EDIT, selected Paste.
That's when I got a message saying "unable to move" or some such error - I don't recall the exact words and I had to click ok only for the same error to appear again some 15 more times. I guess it appeared once per image.
I went back to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA (the phone storage location) and to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA (SD card location) but the files aren't there in either location. Please note that I'm a noob to Android having only used Windows Mobile OS phones in the past. I appreciate any help and insight in this matter so that I don't loose files more important than some randomly taken pics.
I get maybe 1 out of every 50 emails sent to my phone. Coming from a blackberry this blows. I have my yahoo account link to it and tried to do my schools but it wouldnt let me

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with my Gmail push feature. I opted for the Gmail app instead of the HTC mail app. The only issue is my emails aren't being pushed to my phone. When I go into the Gmail app and click on accounts & check the settings it has Auto Sync checked and also the correct Gmail account. When I go to settings>Accounts & Sync> Auto Sync is checked there as well along with my Gmail account. I have sent numerous test emails from my work PC to my personal Gmail account but the emails aren't popping up as new notifications or even in the Gmail app until I actually open the Gmail app several minutes later. What is going on here? I thought Gmail was supposed to be a true "Push" mail client that worked on the Incredible.

If I re-install, it will work again, but only for a few days. I always install after killing tasks/widgets like it says, but hasn't helped the longer-term problem.
Initially, I thought I just needed to change my Outlook settings so it would leave a copy of messages on the server, which I did. But still, only around half my emails actually come to my phone.Has anyone else had this problem?

I was surprised that I didn't receive any emails today, then I checked my computer and saw that I had several. So I hit refresh on my phone a they popped up in my inbox. I sent a test email after that and didn't receive it until I hit refresh. Can someone guide me through getting it working again?

The phone doesn't show my flagged emails and if I flag an email using the phone they don't show up in Outlook. Everything else seems to be syncing just fine for me (read/unread, deleting, calendars etc).

Tried opening files from email with pdf reader program and quickoffice or whatever its called. Neither type of file would open. Tried to download then open files with same problem. Files are definitely .pdf and .doc, just opened and rad them on laptop now. Also confused...is there any way to look at my SD card folders and files through a phone app? Can't figure out how to see anything other then my music and photos.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to know if anyone is experiencing the same issue and if they have any fixes. I lost all of my text messages three times since getting the phone last Wednesday. The first time, someone was trying to send me an MMS. It didn't go through, and caused a Force Close (for which you have no choice but to select OK). After the error, all my previous text messages were gone. I immediately installed SMS Backup and SMS Backup and Restore. I like that SMS Backup is almost instantaneous back-up (to your Google account), but you cannot restore the messages to the phone. SMS Backup and Restore will back up your messages to your SDcard and restore, but it only runs at a pre-selected time (unless you manually sync before the selected time). Twice after the first error, I've been in the middle of texting and received the Force Close due to "Message Download Failure"; and after both times I lost all messages again. I was able to restore the older messages, but not the ones sent and received after the backup schedule. The only thing I've done is used SWYPE instead of the stock keyboard. But this seems like a network error.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have my email, calendar, and contacts set up through activesync exchange. So when you add someone from your phone, it gets pushed to your outlook as well as vice versa.
I've been adding this one contact on my phone for the last few times, and after few days his contact simply disappears.
I've tried adding his contact both on the phone as well as on Outlook, and when he calls, his name would show, but after few days, it stops showing the name but just the number, and when i go back to my contact, he's no longer listed there.
How come every time I reboot my phone, my ringtones that I have created and set disappear? I use rings extended to change my notification ringtone and I use the stock ringtone maker in the music app that comes with the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf anyone experienced this issue� I have this 1 contact with a horrible Facebook picture, so I have created a new contact for her and linked her Facebook etc., and then changed her picture to a different picture. The new picture has updated in my favorite list as well as my overall contact list. A few days later I get a text from her and she is an unknown contact. Only a number shows no picture or name. So, I go to look for her and she is no longer there under my people's contact list. She is under my favorites still with the old Facebook picture and no number or email, just the Facebook account. I have re-entered her twice since then and the same thing keeps happening. For the time being I just gave up and kept the other picture, but this is definitely a bug imo.
