Android :: My Emails Are Disappearing From My Gmail Inbox

Oct 21, 2010

I've heard this happening with Gmail to other people, but I didn't believe it, now it's happening to me. I had a very very very vitally important email sent to me yesterday, and after viewing it, it just vanished. Gone for good. I can't find it. I've checked every folder, I've checked All Mail, I've checked trash, I've checked spam, drafts, everywhere. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've had an email vanish in the past 3 months. Completely gone, as if it never existed, without me deleting it.Has anyone else experienced this with Gmail? I know a few people who don't use Gmail for this very reason, but I thought they were crazy, now it's happening to me. HELP! I need that email back

HTC Wildfire :: Mail Disappearing From Inbox

Sep 21, 2010

I've had my phone for a month now (Vodafone in UK) and have pretty well mastered most things except my email.I set up the gmail account as required and access that via an app no problem. The main email account I set up to access my Messenger Live email account. This was a doddle as I just entered my address and password and it set up immediately. I should have known it wouldn't be that simple! It downloads and sends my mail just fine but after a few days all mail disappears so that I have no record of it's ever having been there. It's still all there on my Live account when I log in via my computer.

What am I doing wrong? I've checked every setting I can but no joy and no reference to this problem on any fora.Another clue may be that despite deleting emails I've received on my Wildfire they are still on my Live account as though nothing has happend. Sounds as though it's not syncing properly but what settings can I check?

1. I send an email to my G1 (not Gmail... just ordinary pop3 email)
2. I get the notification OK.
3. The email applications says "RedMist________________(1)"
4. So I click on RedMist, and then Inbox
5. It shows the email subject and then, within 1 or 2 seconds, the email disappears. without me clicking to view the email.
6. No matter what i do i cannot view this email again.

General :: S4 - New To Android And Emails Disappearing

Jun 21, 2013

I've just move from the Iphone 4 to the S4 and am trying to set it up. I'm failing miserably with email.

I use Virgin.net email but have it downloaded to Outlook and it is deleted from the server when I do this.
I want to access the same emails on my phone - well, those emails that have not yet been downloaded from the server. So for example, if I'm not at home and laptop is switched off (not accessing Outlook) then I can get the emails to my phone until I get home and download them to laptop. When I download them to my phone I want to leave a copy on the server for Outlook to get.

So............... I've manually set up email using pop3 settings on S4.

An email will download to my inbox on the phone...... but then when I next go in to check emails on phone those that have been downloaded just disappear?

Delete email from server is set as never in the settings. And outlook on my laptop is turned off so emails are not being downloaded there.

Why are my emails auto deleting and where re they going. How do I stop this?

HTC EVO 4G :: Disappearing Emails On EVO

Aug 4, 2010

I have started to have e-mails disappear on my HTC EVO. I've exhaustively looked at the settings on the EVO and in Outlook. Those appear to be okay; although I'm not certain. I also suspect perhaps a setting in Mailwasher Pro could be involved. The e-mails on the EVO seem to go away after I have successfully downloaded and viewed in Outlook and on the handheld. They disappear on the EVO after I then mark, and execute, all e-mails for deletion in Mailwasher.By the way, this started happening after I installed K-9 e-mail client on the EVO.However, I have gone back to using the standard EVO e-mail program. Having same problem with both programs.Wondering if maybe I should uninstall K-9. One test I did was to send an e-mail from one of my pop accounts to my gmail account. I allowed it to pass through Mailwasher downloaded and viewed it in Gmail on PC. Then, marked it for deletion in Mailwasher ran it through and it disappeared in Gmail on PC.
Any ideas?

But when I turn on my desktop using Outlook (which is set to delete the emails AFTER retrieving them), all the emails are gone from my phone. It didn't use to do that. Is there a way to fix this?

Android :: IMAP - Deleted Emails Reappear Again Inbox

Apr 17, 2010

I'm having an issue with deleting emails from the generic email client on Android 1.5. I use the gmail app for dedicated gmail stuff, works like a dream. However, my uni email address (IMAP) using the normal 'email' app is a different story. It will receive emails no problem, but if I delete them they disappear for 2 seconds, then reappear in the inbox again (in the same place) with a line through them, they don't even move into the trash folder. However, what does happen is that they disappear off my webmail server. Is there a way of actually removing something from the inbox once it's been received, or is it there forever? It's a LG Gw620 (eve/intouch max) running android 1.5.

I have entered my account details, I can send emails but I don't get a notification when I receive an email to my Gmail Inbox. I have checked the settings and I have setup a ringtone and selected the option to flag up an icon in the notification bar. However the only way I know I have an email is if I open the app. I have a task manager and Gmail is on the ignore list.

General :: Exchange 2007 / Activesync / Disappearing Emails?

Jul 5, 2012

Interesting problem that I seem to have had out of the box (and which has started when I traded my old treo in for this android device): emails regularly disappear both from my Note, the exchange server and thus everywhere else as well, without any intervention on my part. My Note notifies me of new email, I glance at the overview, and sometimes no more than a few minutes later, that new email is completely gone.

Another interesting feature that popped up during testing is that emails sent from the device to this very account do appear in the sent items list both on the device and on the exchange server, but *only* at the inbox on the android device. And as with some of the regular incoming emails, these too disappear. As external emails (i.e. sent from for example gmail) thus far seem to stick, I am suspecting an issue with either activesync itself or exchange and activesync, but I can't be sure.

Noticed a few other threads both here and elsewhere about disappearing emails, but most (if not all) of these seem to be about POP3 where part of the default routine is of course deleting from the server. apps at issue:

- Android 2.3.6 and 4.0 (problem stayed after the upgrade)
- Default mail client on both versions (this particular exchange account has thus far proven a bit troublesome to configure with for example k-9 and touchdown)
- Exchange Server 2007 server / activesync

HTC Desire :: Cannot Get Any Hotmail Emails Into The Inbox

Aug 23, 2010

He's set up his gmail and work mail on the phone just fine, but his hotmail is playing silly buggers. The gmail is through that app, the work and hotmail through the desire mail app.

Anyway - he cannot get any hotmail emails into the inbox. When you first set up the account, he gets two 'welcome' mails - the kind you get when you set up the mail account online, welcoming you to your inbox. No other emails ever come through.
However - he can send from it. And it appears in his outbox online.

I looked in the syncing sections and under the exchange active sync - which works for his work - there is no hotmail. Except somehow it must sync somehow as it's sending his hotmail fine...

HTC EVO 4G :: Emails Not Automatically Deleting From Inbox?

My Roadrunner account is setup on my EVO and receives email, sends email, no problems there. Issue is that emails that I've already downloaded to my pc Outlook are still showing up in my inbox on my EVO. I've looked through all of the settings and cannot find one similar to what I had for my Windows Mobile mail, which deleted mail that it didn't see was on the mail server anymore. Is this a possible bug or maybe an intentional design, or am I missing a setting?

Samsung Galaxy S : Unable To View Exchange Emails - Keep Them In Inbox

Oct 18, 2010

I've been working on this and searching for a few days now and this is how far I got.

I can send and receive email through Exchange and I can see emails in my Inbox, the problem is I never keep any emails in my inbox, they always go into separate folders and those ones I can't see. I can see and switch to the different folders but there appears to be nothing in them.

I'm using Samsung Email simply because it came on the phone and seems to be able to do gmail, hotmail and exchange all in one.

Android 2.1, unrooted. Anyone come across this issue or have any ideas?
