I want to customize my home screen(s) but I don't have much of an idea as to which home screen app(s) are the best? I keep running across that GDE has an upper hand. I want something customizable, stable, and efficient.

I just followed the instructions in the stickies root message and boom - I'm rooted. Flashed with Fresh 1.1. Can anyone direct me to somewhere on how to customize the screens? Also, there are a couple of new icons at the top of my home screen - an "E" inside a circle and after a phone call, I get a green circle in the notification bar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought my droid and LOVIN' IT...but I'm looking to tweak it a little more. So far, I'm really digging' the home screens that a lot of you guys have posted on this site, and I'm trying to emulate them but it's a little difficult for me to do. I'd really appreciate it if you guys can lead me to the right direction on which apps and customizations I need to employ to get those similar settings. I'm mainly looking to do 2 things:
1.) get my home screen to have the time, date, and weather widget, while putting my favorite icons around it for this I downloaded Home++ and weather forecast widgets v2. However, I really don't like how the default time and date and bottom icons look that comes with the Home++. A lot of you guys have the screen that looks like the HTC Sense UI. It's awesome! How can I get my droid to look like this???
2.) I'm currently employing the 3 screen setting (which I like). I would like to put a full size calendar on the left screen so that I can flick it over whenever I need to take a look. Is this possible? And is there an app/widget that can do this?
How can the home screen be customized? and also how can the springboard layout be customized?
I want to make an application which makes a clone of users current theme and allows user to customize content that he wants to view such as phonebook, pics and etc.
What is the screen called when you first turn your phone on. The one that has the icons,
messaging
phone
contacts
browser
maps
and market?
This can be customized correct?
What are some apps, if you call them that, to use here?
where do you find them,and how to arrange/customize?

Two things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.

I mean, they look like they are copies of Sense UI, so I really do not see the benefit if you are on an HTC phone. I could definitely see if for other Android devices, but I am just confused as to what the benefit is.

Instead when I select them I am taken to a screen with uninstall and details as choices. Usually if I tap the widgets they are placed on a home screen where they can be launched.

When I click update it tries to acquire location but can't. I think I've tried everything to get it to locate my location. I've turned it on through google settings. I've turned on GPS on my phone. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm afraid to bring this up as I suspect I might be headed for a replacement phone,For the last week or so, I've noticed my phone seems to be scrolling to the left automatically.The home screen will scroll as well as if I'm in the market for example and trying to enter a search term, the blinking cursor will move to the left. It's more of an annoyance than anything else.The phone still works great, but I'm worried that it might turn into something bigger.

The phone is suppose to be fully customizable but it seems that the one thing I have yet to figure out is how to change where my home screen is located. I would much rather have my home screen set as the left most screen instead of having it directly in the middle of my seven available screens. You know, sort of like how the iphone is and what not. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Incredible. Recently I realized that I cannot add any of the apps that I download from the Android Market to any of my home screens. If I try to add a program to my home scree, none of the apps recently installed (e.g mint.com, yelp, dictionary) show up in the list. But if I go to "All programs", they are there. Has anyone else had such a problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe other day when typing my haptic feedback kinda went clunk. Now I get no feedback whenever I move from one screen to another or select an icon on the home screen. I am sure that I got feedback when I pressed an icon before, I just want to make sure that it is supposed to do that.
So, can anyone confirm that they get the haptic feedback when they press an icon on the home screen?
I still get feedback from the softkeys, but it does not seem as strong, so I think by haptic motor has a problem.
Has anyone else been experiencing this. Sometimes when I click on the Home Screen button, it doesn't always go to the home screen, it might go to the screen to the right or left of it.
also sometimes when I lock the phone and then when I unlock it, it doesn't always go to the home screen. it might jump around.
Sometimes when I hit the home screen or down error right above it, the desk clock appears.
this is all very strange, just wondering what all of your thoughts are. Could it be a particular app that I downloaded.
I don't text and actually have this feature disabled (I was receiving all kinds of spam and was told I'd either have to disable or pay for the spam texts).
Because of this, the text home screen (second from left when scrolling through the home screens) is useless to me. Is there a way to change the screen so that it's not a "text" screen? I tried adding a different widget and was told there was no space.
I recently got my incredible and i love it, I have 2 issues with it, first is battery but you know downloading stuff all day long will tank a battery the other. I cannot put a picture on the wallpaper on my phone. If I do, it changes it to the HTC colors. I can however post any live wallpaper just not any pictures. This is become a great irritation and I am uncertain if this is a software or hardware problem.

(the one of the predator and alien playing chess).Now all 7 home screens are completely blank. No widgets or icons. Somehow everything on the home screens has been wiped. I removed the picture from the internal memory folder.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo last night I went to change my battery and when the phone booted back up, a lot of programs were not installed anymore and I was getting about 3 other programs that were force closing right away when it came on.I tried to reinstall the apps, but I was still getting some force closes and general funny stuff going on.So I factory reset it and started from scratch again today. I got most of my apps reinstalled and thought it was fine. Then just a little while ago, I noticed that I couldn't browse the Internet or use the market. I rebooted and it was fine.A little while later I went to use my phone to make a call and when I unlocked it, all my home screens were blank! Reboot again and that fixed it.
