I just followed the instructions in the stickies root message and boom - I'm rooted. Flashed with Fresh 1.1. Can anyone direct me to somewhere on how to customize the screens? Also, there are a couple of new icons at the top of my home screen - an "E" inside a circle and after a phone call, I get a green circle in the notification bar.

I am new to Android so I hope someone can help, I would like to customize my home screen on my Hero. Is it possible to remove these buttons? (The phone button, the + sign and the menu icon).

I know you can customize and add pages of icons but can any of those become the default page your phone powers up to? So far, I'm really digging' the home screens that a lot of you guys have posted on this site, and I'm trying to emulate them but it's a little difficult for me to do. I'd really appreciate it if you guys can lead me to the right direction on which apps and customizations I need to employ to get those similar settings. I'm mainly looking to do 2 things:
1.) get my home screen to have the time, date, and weather widget, while putting my favorite icons around it for this I downloaded Home++ and weather forecast widgets v2. However, I really don't like how the default time and date and bottom icons look that comes with the Home++. A lot of you guys have the screen that looks like the HTC Sense UI. It's awesome! How can I get my droid to look like this???
2.) I'm currently employing the 3 screen setting (which I like). I would like to put a full size calendar on the left screen so that I can flick it over whenever I need to take a look. Is this possible? And is there an app/widget that can do this?
I want to customize my home screen(s) but I don't have much of an idea as to which home screen app(s) are the best? I keep running across that GDE has an upper hand. I want something customizable, stable, and efficient.

I want to make an application which makes a clone of users current theme and allows user to customize content that he wants to view such as phonebook, pics and etc.
Whenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.

This is referring to the homescreen and the default home is what the defualt android home screen looks like and HTC sence is what i need. I clicked on the Defualt home and now my home screen looks different. How do i get that option to pop up again so I can choose HTC sence?
I have a small htc weather widget on one screen that I cant delete. Long press just opens the alp.

Underneath the clock it just goes blank and i have to go into weather and refresh for it to come back. Then a little while later it will be blank again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have it set up update hourly, and it will show it to be sunny, even until 8PM sometimes 9PM.It's not exactly sunny at that time of day, I'd more expect to see the moon by that time of evening.Is this just weird, or is it just using the "official" sunset time of 8 something and calling it sunny until then? But it has shown me that I am not nearly as tech savy as I liked to think I was. I am a little overwhelmed with this phone.

I've seen some other Android Phones/Tablets doing this and would like to be able to do so. Or does anyone know if this will be an option in the 2.1 update? I heard that the Droid used to do this, and then some update messed it up, but then saw it going into landscape mode on the video they posted today of the Droid running 2.1.

I was on my main Home screen and just trying to figure stuff out and when I long press the menu key it brings up the onscreen keyboard. I figured it was for contact search or something, but it did nothing when I typed...or so I thought. Now everytime I back out to the Home screen a little transparent "window" displays with letters i first typed. I cant type new letters to display or even use the backspace key to erase. When I use LauncherPro my home screen (and other screens) are not set up the way I currently have them. I spent a lot of time setting my current screens so they are exactly the way I want them.
