How can the home screen be customized? and also how can the springboard layout be customized?
I want to make an application which makes a clone of users current theme and allows user to customize content that he wants to view such as phonebook, pics and etc.
I just stumbled across sweeter home and i was wondering if anybody else has used this app as a home screen replacement and how is it working for you? I really wanna customize my droid! it's what separates droid from the iclones.

Arrange/re-arrange the shortcuts in the application tab? I know how to manage them on the home screen, but I want to move the lesser-used applications to the bottom of the app tab and the more frequently-used apps to the top. (btw...this question pertains to a Droid.

Can anyone direct me to somewhere on how to customize the screens? Also, there are a couple of new icons at the top of my home screen - an "E" inside a circle and after a phone call, I get a green circle in the notification bar.

So far, I'm really digging' the home screens that a lot of you guys have posted on this site, and I'm trying to emulate them but it's a little difficult for me to do. I'd really appreciate it if you guys can lead me to the right direction on which apps and customizations I need to employ to get those similar settings. I'm mainly looking to do 2 things:
1.) get my home screen to have the time, date, and weather widget, while putting my favorite icons around it for this I downloaded Home++ and weather forecast widgets v2. However, I really don't like how the default time and date and bottom icons look that comes with the Home++. A lot of you guys have the screen that looks like the HTC Sense UI. It's awesome! How can I get my droid to look like this???
2.) I'm currently employing the 3 screen setting (which I like). I would like to put a full size calendar on the left screen so that I can flick it over whenever I need to take a look. Is this possible? And is there an app/widget that can do this?
I want to customize my home screen(s) but I don't have much of an idea as to which home screen app(s) are the best? I keep running across that GDE has an upper hand. I want something customizable, stable, and efficient.
View 21 Replies View RelatedSo when i either put my droid in my car mount or i press the "car/home" app, my phone goes into car mode. here i have 2 screens to choose from. the first screen has 6 buttons all with applications in them, the second screen has 6 buttons but only 3 have applications in them. question is, is there a way to customize the other 3 buttons and pit an application in them or am i stuck staring at 3 empty buttons forever?

Currectly the tabs are dislayed one row and two columns(for 2 tabs each column as one tab). Now what I require is that when the view changes from portrait to landscape, the tabs should be positioned to the left of the screen like two rows and one column each row with one tab. I bought the dock for the droid the other day and i really like the home screen that comes up when you plug the phone into it, but i was wondering is there was anyway to access that screen with out the dock. the screen that im talking about is the one with the music player, photo viewer, dimming the alarm clock, etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is like a default option but i've found thet my X's entire OS goes into landscape mode, including app tray, browser, apps, everything. I haven't downloaded any apps that do this and while its in this mode it wont rotate back to portrait. The only way I could change it back is by rebooting. I haven't found a way to voluntarily recreate this, it just happens, maybe by a certain combination of keys,but I'd like to know how to recreate this. I'm sure its probably really obvious so forgive me for my obliviousness

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe other day I took a trip, put my X in the car dock, and set Nav to my destination. About an hour into my trip, Nav would intermittently close, and would return to the home screen. However, the app wasn't always completely FC'd, but running in the background, and could be returned to by dragging down the Notification bar and reselecting it. This continued for the last 2 hours of my trip and was extremely annoying. Has anyone else experienced this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIm on the Rom manager 2.1. It's been working for days now and I backup my roms pretty much every day. Today I installed a new app Vlingo and my apps disappeared off my home screen. I restored from 2 days ago, but I'm getting the same thing. The apps load at first, but within 5 minutes, they go away. Then, if I apply some apps on the now empty screens, they will be on top of the old ones when I reboot.

Well none of them worked and I'm pretty sure I uninstalled all of them. However on the most right side of the home screen it still says Problem Loading Widget.. Doesn't seem to be causing a problem but it is just really annoying.

I usually have the map view while driving, but the screen turns-off. Is there a way or app to not turn-off the screen while using the car-home app.
