I am new to Android so I hope someone can help, I would like to customize my home screen on my Hero. Is it possible to remove these buttons? (The phone button, the + sign and the menu icon).

I just followed the instructions in the stickies root message and boom - I'm rooted. Flashed with Fresh 1.1. Can anyone direct me to somewhere on how to customize the screens? Also, there are a couple of new icons at the top of my home screen - an "E" inside a circle and after a phone call, I get a green circle in the notification bar.

So far, I'm really digging' the home screens that a lot of you guys have posted on this site, and I'm trying to emulate them but it's a little difficult for me to do. I'd really appreciate it if you guys can lead me to the right direction on which apps and customizations I need to employ to get those similar settings. I'm mainly looking to do 2 things:
1.) get my home screen to have the time, date, and weather widget, while putting my favorite icons around it for this I downloaded Home++ and weather forecast widgets v2. However, I really don't like how the default time and date and bottom icons look that comes with the Home++. A lot of you guys have the screen that looks like the HTC Sense UI. It's awesome! How can I get my droid to look like this???
2.) I'm currently employing the 3 screen setting (which I like). I would like to put a full size calendar on the left screen so that I can flick it over whenever I need to take a look. Is this possible? And is there an app/widget that can do this?
I want to customize my home screen(s) but I don't have much of an idea as to which home screen app(s) are the best? I keep running across that GDE has an upper hand. I want something customizable, stable, and efficient.

I would like to customize my lock screen, and after a little research I found an app called Lock bot. However, several reviews say that it doesn't work very well, at least not the free version (I live in Sweden and we can't buy apps yet). Is there another way to customize the lock screen?

I know you can customize and add pages of icons but can any of those become the default page your phone powers up to? View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had a look around this site but can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem as me.I downloaded an application that changed the unlock screen to the same as the iPhone.For some reason this changed my home-screen was well as my unlock screen.My HTC Hero had the same home screen as this:

But now it has changed back to the G1 (T-Mobile G1) and looks like this:

The long bar across the bottom with call etc has disappeared and changed to one square box. I have uninstalled the application but there is nothing to change it back. Can anyone help?
I am getting a Hero on Monday from Orange with the 500mb deal. I have seen on adverts that the Hero has a home screen with updated weather on it etc? To get this feature does the phone have to be constantly online? If so wouldnt this be pointless and use the allowance very fast?

This is referring to the homescreen and the default home is what the defualt android home screen looks like and HTC sence is what i need. I clicked on the Defualt home and now my home screen looks different. How do i get that option to pop up again so I can choose HTC sence?
I was wondering if anyone has a cure for this. The phone is rooted and on Villain 5.x. I've recently started using the camera and noticed that it will abruptly close on me - no force close message or anything - just back to the Home screen. A reboot seems to fix it for a few snaps, then the same again.

I have just got my hero back from RMA with a new screen. (the old one was fubar). But now the back button is bringing me the homescreen. And not the last screen. So if I browse my settings, and go 4 screens in. I want the back button to bring me to screen 3 (like it used to), and not to the home screen.

I'm not interested in Twitter and I haven't found the stock text or email widgets to be that useful because I can only see one at a time and usually have to link to the full program. The icons with unread number are working well enough.I'm looking for any cool widget or folder ideas that I may have passed over on the market, or creative layout ideas.
I have a small htc weather widget on one screen that I cant delete. Long press just opens the alp.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have it set up update hourly, and it will show it to be sunny, even until 8PM sometimes 9PM.It's not exactly sunny at that time of day, I'd more expect to see the moon by that time of evening.Is this just weird, or is it just using the "official" sunset time of 8 something and calling it sunny until then?
