I have noticed this with HandBrake in the past, but why does it take so long to encode a video? I have an .AVI file of Edge of Darkness and it is going to take over 3 hours to encode. Why is that? I can take a movie DVD, rip and burn it in less than an hour.

I have tried both handbrake and xvidtopsp and with both programs I am just getting audio with a black screen. Can anyone help me figure out what I am doing wrong. I used the handbrake settings that someone had posted in a thread in here but that gave me the black screen as well.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have "The Hangover" sitting on my computer. I converted it to .MP4 using handbrake, and it plays back just fine on my computer. However, when I put it on my phone, I hear the audio, and the player is playing (it shows the correct movie length and lets me jump from part to part of the video) but all I see is a BLACK SCREEN! Does anyone know what might cause this? I used the "Regular - Normal"" preset on the right side in Handbrake (my first time using it). Size is 672x272, Anamorphic is "Strict", Cropping is "Automatic", video filters are all OFF, Video Codec is H.264(x264), Framerate is same as source, and I chose constant quality 60.78% RF:20.Anyone have any idea what's going on? I just ordered an HDMI cable online so I really want to get this working.

I just received my phone today, so I'm still a noob when it comes to all of this, so please forgive my ignorance.I just downloaded my digital copies of UP and WALL-E onto my Mac with the intention of putting them on my Evo to watch. I can watch them fine through itunes in .m4v format. Through research, I have found that m4v's are basically the same as mp4's and that the Evo should be able to playback m4v files.However, when I transfer to my SD card (I made a "Videos" folder in my SD card) the video shows up in the native Video player, but I get an error saying it's unable to play. Additionally, I have tried downloading Real Player and mVideoPlayer and those too can see the file, but can not play it back.So I decided to try to convert the m4v files to mp4 via Handbrake. Problem is, Handbrake crashes every single time I try to convert a video. I followed this step by step tutorial, but to no avail.

Works fine but the file size is like 1.5GB, does anyone know if there is a way to make the file smaller? I'm not hugely concerned that the quality is the best, but hopefully not too pixally, I just want something to watch while I'm at the gym.

1. Plug phone in
2. Turn Phone Off
3. Wait 5 seconds
4. Turn Phone On
Voila! But i still do the turning the phone off to get the full charge thing. Hope this helps you all!
I'm trying to email a few pics and a video i took on my phone to myself and it just shows up in my outbox. How long does it take to email attachments like this? I even turned on wifi cause i thought it might require wifi like youtube does

When I was talking to Tech Support when my first Inc was having problems he told me it was best to charge a full 24 hours the first time. I noticed that in a long threaded email with friends, when it got too long, it was stuck retrieving the email and I had to stop it and then try and download it all again (get remaining) and it never was able to retrieve it. When I finally got home to check the thread they were asking why I wasn't responding. Any tips on how to resolve long email threads not being retrievable?

Is there away for it to download it better instead of stopping every few seconds to buffer more. This way it can be smoother. There has to be some way to do it my storm that didnt have no where near as much memory played them better.

1) Is there a way to avoid notification sounds to take place during media playback, mainly music player, without having to change my sounds profile to silent, or vibrate?
2) All of a sudden my phone is taking a little long to load SMS conversations. Is there a way to fix that? I feel as though my Snapdragon shouldn't lag when I open a text.
i exchanged my phone today do to a faulty microphone. now i got this evo and for example when i text and i wanna hold for a question mark it just puts down the letter and wont let me hold and alot of other things are very unresponsive or move slowly. I actually got the notification bar to stay halfway down which never happen to me cause i think it automatically goes all the way down. I did install a invisible sheild but i dont think that has any effect since most of the water is gone.it was working fine before i installed it tho. i had to turn the device off when the bottom buttons wouldnt respond until i would put it to sleep and then shortly after it go back to not responding then the screen stopped responding. is this faulty hardware?
