I have the camera open and I long touch an object and the little box turns green and it makes a noise but no picture is taken...how can i make it take the picture using a long touch

My touch screen stopped working whe I tried to load a custom rom on it. Are there any ideas i can try to fix it? Ive even tried wiping it back to factory settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated my Evo to 2.2 when it came out, but I just noticed something about flash in the browser: I cannot interact with any of the buttons. For example, when browsing the youtube full site in the browser (not the youtube app) you can hit the button to turn on captions, and hit the other button to switch to HD resolution. For some reason, I cant figure out how to hit those buttons. I tried zooming in all the way, and I hit the resolution button, and the resolutions popped up for about .5 of a second, then went away, its too quick to hit it. I tried double tapping the flash to make it full screen and that doesnt work either. The only thing I can get to work is the slider bar, which seems to work fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince my 2.2 update last week, my wifi doesn't seem to work. It recognizes the SSID, connects, but I have no internet. The status bar shows that it is connected, but data wont load. Everything else that runs on wireless in my house works fine. Is anyone else having this problem or would anyone have a solution to this?

I have done 6 factory resets since getting it and after the last two I have added no apps to it. I have plenty of memory left but the message still pops up and GMAIL sent and Trash is empty, I have 29mb in use out of 7486mb in Gmail in use and i am about to walk into a Verizon store and beat someone senseless with this piece of crap phone. The INC is the only Android+Sense phone doing this right? Now my Bluetooth wont turn on or off. The widget and menu+settings doesn't work.

Does Anyone have multiples contacts being created and linked every single time the app initiates a sync. So for example under Joe smith it would create a contact named com.facebook.auth.login under joe smith. And this is created everytime it syncs, so overnight i had about 5 for each contact. It also doesnt pull the picture for each contact.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI got my htc desire about a month ago and it was no bother connecting it to the internet...worked great....then a few days ago i dropped my phone in a puddle top first and it covered 3 quarters of my phone i dried it off best i could and it work straight away then went all funny and the touch screen wouldnt even work ...but now after leaving it for a few days its fine works all the same apart from the wifi whenever i try to connect to it it says turning on then 30 seconds later error! yet if i connect to my mobile network internet it works.

i bought the evo a few weeks after it came out and its always had a problem with the power button. i was told that it would be replaced but at the time the evo was at such a high demand i had to wait. so in that time the button worked great and i forgot about it. well no its to the point that i cant even get it out of standby without using the usb cable. and i don't have the 30 days on it anymore or insurance..

Like the the post says my wireless tether no longer works( at leat not fast ) with any of my 2.2 nandroid backup I have all the wireless thether downloads ( the 2.0.2 and all the 2.0.5 versions ) and they just stoped transfering or transfer really slow. By slow I mean it will take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute sometimes longer for a page to load. This is the case with all my 2.2 roms Damage Control 3.5, Baked Snack 1.0 and 1.5, Fresh 3.something and even my stock 2.2 rooted rom. This is the case with any kernel and I have been using various Kings, (but tend to stick with Netarchy's kernels) All with the same problem. Everything else works flawlessly.
This wouldnt be a big deal except I use wireless tether everyday for homework so it is a must have for me. I had to use the tether feature on my wifes Palm Pre (you know how that made me feel) I have her phone overclocked to 800mhz and it felt as if her battery was going to melt or explode, which usuall happens if you use it for too long. I had to get an Ice pack and put a towel on it to keep the phone cool while tethering.
I even tried it with flashing new room and kernel and the only app being all the versions of the wireless tether. That still was a no/go.
I however did find a solution but not a good one. I had a nandroid back up of a HTC 2.1 stock rooted rom with Nand unlocked and with the FPS un capped. This however when I look for wireless networks to connect to on my computer, it shows up as 3computer connected together instead of the 5 escalating bars like in the att comercials (dont ban me for that)
but it works perfectly and lightning fast. The version I'm usuing is the 2.0.2 version not any of the 2.0.5 versions.
I know this is a bit drawn out but can anyone explain why this happened? I mean it worked one night and the next it didnt. Or can someone can someone explain why it works on 2.1 and not on 2.2?
I miss some of my 2.2 feature but there are none that I can't live without but I would like to be on the latest software version.

Ive had my moment for approx. 9 months now and I have taken very good care of it, never dropped it and ive had a case and screen protector on it the whole time and now i am losing my touchscreen. on the top right of the screen when you touch it it either doesnt do anything or it will think that i touched something on the left upper side. so you all know where im talking about when you pull down the notifications bar and you hit the clear button it doesnt work at all. is this phone just done or can it be fixed? anybody else have this problem? I just don't understand i took so good care of this phone!

Right now I use simple onclick events for the buttons, every click changes the seekbar 1 unit.What I would like to do is use a long press to quickly scroll, so if a user holds down a button for say 800 millis it will start adding ten units per second. What I'm thinking my approach should be is to use onKeyDown and onKeyUp events, but is there a better way? OnLongClickListener won't work as far as I can tell because it doesn't detect key-up.Is my approach correct?

View 6 Replies View RelatedOkay so all of a sudden yesterday the lock button on my Samsung Moment kind of stopped working. When you press the hang up button on the phone, its supposed to lock. If you hold the hang up button it brings up a menu for power off, sounds off and airplane mode.
For some reason when I press the hang up button to lock the phone, it doesnt work but when I press and hold the hang up button, the menu thats supposed to pop up does.
If the button semi works I cant see it being a problem with the button. My friend says its a software glitch but it worked fine for months and then all of a sudden yesterday morning it stopped working. I HAVE NOT updated the phone or anything recently.
Did the Moment 2.1 Update and installed the old HTC Keyboard and it doesnt work. Is there an updated version for the 2.1 moment?

Cell near<scanned cells near my house> ---> wifi set on
Wifi near<my SSId>
<-- wifi set off
Now i did this thinking if in my area using scanned cells plus in range of my wifi----> it should turn on
And if the above criteria doesnt match then it should go off
Please advise if i am doing it wrong
I was also thinking when i reach back home phone should say welcome home or something ( was trying just for fun) but that doesnt work properly either i was using it with my wifi profile but the it keeps on reading the message few times i was thinking everytime phone changes the cell it reads the message to me.
On my HTC Hero, when typing messages, I could always easily access characters like "?" and "!" and numerals by simply "long touching" that button. Very convenient. However, recently, that featured stopped working. I can no longer "long touch" the K-key and get a question mark like I used to.
Is this a setting that has been inadvertently turned off? If so, I can't find it.

So for my Eris i flashed the new kayos v38 rom and add the conap cfs v8 for the camera and battery drain fix.
Now heres a new problem that I notice! The vibrate for the incoming phone doesnt work It worked last time a install the exact same thing. but now it's like total silence when i put my phone on vibrate.
Is there a way to get rid of the loud "bling" on the Telstra start up screen?I got "silent boot" from the App store, , but it doesn't work.I dont want to have to put the phone to silent every time I turn it off.

One picture took around 10 minutes to send. My apartment has bad reception, but when I sent these messages I had 3g and 3 reception bars. Is this normal?
