I keep getting the prompt to install the new 2.2 ota update but ive just rooted my phone and want to put a custom rom on it. but since i already have the ota downloaded im trying the delete the update.zip so i wont have any problems but i cant find it.

Couple of really big issues here that SHOULD be no brainers! But, they aren't. Anyone know what the EXACT name of an application installer on the Market that allows me to install appliations from the memory card? I've been looking for a few weeks now. A search for application installers that allow me to install a .apk file from the memory card turn up mentions about "Apps Installer" and "Application Installer", but I can't find anything with that name in the Android Market. Partial name searches like "Installer" turn up NO results. (That's not very "Google Like", now isn't it? The Android Market website, BTW doesn't allow you to search? Is that right? You can only search the Android Market from the phone? I can understand not allowing us to DOWNLOAD from the market to our PC, but not search so I can find the appliation name I want? For this, I need to locate the Android Model in the SDK. I already searched a while for it, but were not able to find it. Has anyone an idea where it could be?
Is it possible, that it is the AndroidManifest.xml-File in the folder android-sdk-platformsandroid-xandroid.jar? After unpacking this file, I am not able to open that file correctly on Windows XP, because a lot of characters have the wrong character set.
Or is it also possible, that it is only located in the source code?

So, my questions:
a. What is/are the files that are downloaded?
b. Where are files saved to?
c. What happens during installation? Is there just one binary? Or a binary with lots of other files? How can I find out the files that belong to a particular application.
If it is a paid application, how can I save it so that I can reinstall again. I am having so much trouble learning this new phone that I have to restore it to factory state already twice on the first day.
How does one tell it where to put the AVD? by default it is creating it in my windows home directory under a .android folder. i cannot start my avd if its located over a unc path oavd. our sys admins put all of your home directories on another shared server.

Im doing it this way because i only know the name of the class. This works fine but unfortunately, all resource files can't be found while loading the activity from the jar file. at the first occurence of loading a res file there is a ResourceNotFoundException:

I want to test this application first on two emulators running on two different PCs connected via LAN.
The problem is that, the communication is not happening when I run the application on two PCs. The same application works when I run it's non-android version on the same PC's.
I have identified the following problem. Let's say there are two computers C1(192.168.1.101), C2(192.168.1.102) connected in a LAN.
Emulator E1 is running on C1 Emulator E2 is running on C2
The application uses UDP protocol and the port being used is 5060 on both computers.
I have setup port forwarding on both the emulators. This is the command used for that in Android console. redir add udp:5060:5060
When we make a voip call from E1 with the URL 192.168.1.102:5060, then E2 responds to the call, but what ever E2 sends in response is not coming back to E1, and hence E1 is timing out.
When I observed the log files, actually E2 is sending the response to 10.0.2.2:5060, which is the C2's loop back address(127.0.0.1). How do we resolve this issue?
I have gone through the developer guide where they have mentioned about two emulators communicating on single PC. But looks like this concept doesn't work when we run emulators on two different computers.
I tried 'redir' command for port forwarding and added INTERNET permission, still it doesn't work.
My question is, Is it possible to implement this communication on two emulators? and if yes, How to do this?

- It used to be easier back in the day, you would extract and all the images would just be there.
/sdcard/TWRP/ is empty except for a single .twrps file
/storage/emulated/0/ is same as /sdcard/
/storage/emulated/legacy/ is same as /sdcard/
/storage/sdcard0/ is same as /sdcard/
I know the backups exist, as when I'm in TWRP, I can hit RESTORE, and see my backups listed there, but if I goto ES File Explorer, and try to do a search for that same filename, I get no results.
Has anyone gotten any info about the stock headphones that comes with the EVO? I want to know how good is the sound quality and are there any controls on the headset itself? Also, has anyone located a 32GB microSD card for it yet?
View 24 Replies View RelatedQuestion: The EVO 4G plays an audio file whenever you adjust the ringtone volume with the volume rocker buttons. Does anyone know which file this is and where it's located? Why I'm asking (in case you're interested): I'm one of those that does not like to hit the power button everytime I want to sleep/lock or wake up my phone. It's simply an awkward button for me to hit and I'm afraid I'll wear it out over time or accidentally drop the phone. So, I'm using 'Screen Off' to sleep the phone with homescreen shortcut and 'No Lock' to prevent the phone from going entirely into lock mode. This lets me use the volume rocker buttons to wake the phone. The problem is that each time I hit the button it plays the 'plunk' sound indicating the volume level, which is driving me a little nuts (think Chinese water torture). I've been unable to find a solution to this problem, and am now looking at finding the media/audio file for this and simply replacing it with a silent audio clip. But I searched for all media files in /system, played them each, and couldn't find a match.

Ive had a root around looking with Astro but to no avail...
I know the camera saves pictures to the SD card, but I can't find them there using OI File Manager, or plugging it into my laptop!
The pictures are there, because I can view them and see them listed under "Albums". Under "Albums" it shows a folder called "Camera Shots", but when I look on the card, there is no such folder, nor can I find the pictures that are in it, anywhere else!
All I can see is the folder called "Saved photos" via the OI File Manager, under "Albums", and via my computer.
