Sep 5, 2010I keep getting the prompt to install the new 2.2 ota update but ive just rooted my phone and want to put a custom rom on it. but since i already have the ota downloaded im trying the delete the update.zip so i wont have any problems but i cant find it.

Jun 22, 2010I was curious where the cell phone antenna for the 1x/3G coverage was located.I live in an area with excellent verizon service and when phone is in standby, the incredible gets one bar.When I make a call, it miraculously gets full coverage.I think its on the bottom of the phone, but is it on the very bottom edge (like where the microphone is) or is it along the back side of the phone.How is the best way to hold the phone to maximize service?

Menu>more>History>Clear History says my history is cleared but when I go back to my browser and tap the navigation field it's all still there - every site I've visited for days! Ditto if I go to Menu>More>Settings and clear the forms, history, cache, and cookies. So how do I clear the browser navigation history?

Jul 5, 2010So i asked this question before, but it was about the time everyone was getting their D-Inc's and it was chaos in this forum, and no one quite understood my question. How do we delete a mail address from history. For example, i emailed JoeSmith @aol.com (who is not in my contact list), and realized that it should be JoeSmith @yahoo.com, now everytime i go to send an email, starting with the letter J, i see both the yahoo and aol email addresses and it says "history" to the right. I tried the "history cleaner" app, and also looked everywhere, but i can't find out how to delete email history anywhere. This happened about 5 times so far, so each time i go to email one of these 5 people, both email addresses come up and 50% of the time i'm choosing the wrong address because i forget that it was input wrong the very first time. Since it says history on the right of the email address, i can only assume there is a history marker somewhere showing me all the emails i've sent, but i cant seem to find it. I want to get these email addresses out of there because i'm always choosing the wrong one, and because i have OCD and can't STAND the fact that there is a wrong email address there. I tried to LONG press, and thought maybe i can delete from there like long pressing a text, or a full conversation, but no luck. Anyone have any info on this?

Jun 3, 2010I had this problem with my Eris too (problem or new addition?) with 2.1v3. When I had a missed call, if I didn't clear my call history, when I turn my phone off and then back on again later, I still get the missed call notification on my lock screen. Is that a new feature they added or something messed up? If there's a way to turn it off, can somebody please tell me?

Jun 29, 2010My friend doesn't want the browser to keep any history. He's tired of clearing it!. I think he may use this phone for pron sometimes and when the GF reaches for the phone in the morning to check the weather, fooking autocomplete gives him away. Then he has to deal with being in the doghouse until next morning when she sees it again.

HTC Incredible :: How To Delete Recent Email History From Yahoo Account?
Jul 16, 2010Does anyone know how to clear historical contacts from the Email application. I'm using yahoo, I don't have Gmail set up on this phone because yahoo is my primary email. I've sent emails to 3 wrong emails. For example JoeSmith@aol.com, JSmith@aol.com, JoeS@aol.com but really his email is JoeSmith@yahoo.com. Now everytime I go to send this person an email, all 4 emails come up, the 3 in history, and the 1 in his contact information. When I type in J in the email recipient, all 4 come up, 3 say "history" next to the line of the email. I tried to add those emails into the contact, and then delete the emails, but that doesn't work.
I've went to yahoo to see if those contacts are showing up in history and they are not, so I know the historical email history is on the phone only. I haven't found a way to remove these items in history, but it's starting to cause problems because if I don't pay attention, I am choosing one of the wrong emails. Same thing is happening when I hit reply to ALL, 1 time about 2 months ago, and now i have about 40 emails in history and I don't even know who these people are, they are not in my contacts, and the phone is holding them hostage because I sent an email once. Does anyone know of a sure way to remove these historical emails?
If you don't know what I mean, give it a try, send an email to JOE@yahoo.com, and when you get it kicked back, the next time you try to send an email and hit "J", that JOE@yahoo.com will show up every single time, without fail. I've checked all historical settings on the phone, and even removed and re-added the yahoo account, but it does no good, the historical emails still stay in history. It's getting very annoying to have 45+ emails that you dont even know show up everytime you try to email someone something. Someone must have an answer for this, I can't be the only one that has sent the wrong email to someone.
HTC Incredible :: Load A 2.2 Rom ?
Aug 14, 2010This is probably a stupid question, but I have looked through a majority of threads both here and XDA and can't find a concise answer for it.
I have my incredible rooted (did it the original way), recovery is installed (first from unrevoked2, then I updated to the newest CWM using 3.1), and I have an older hydra kernel.
I want to load a 2.2 rom, but I haven't updated my radio yet, today I did the s-off unlock.
Do I need to just drop the new radio image on my sdcard and let it do its thing in hboot, then install the 2.2 rom?
My main concern is the old hydra kernel, I don't know if it is incompatible with 2.2, for the record the version listed on the phone is "2.6.29-cc1c2268 root@laptopone #7".
Android :: Load Single App During Load And Not Allowing The User To Step Out Of It

Ideally, when one switches on the tablet this app should be loaded perhaps during startup and the user need not step out of this app. The app logic itself is rather easy but I am wondering if it is at all possible to load a single app during load and not allowing the user to step out of it.

Jun 7, 2010I currently use the SenseUI Messaging App for SMS. I had tried HandscentSMS but ultimately decided to go back to the SenseUI implementation, due to the way the app displayed the notification when I unlocked the phone (under the unlock slide bar). I've been texting the a certain special someone quite often, somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000+ messages at this point. I notice, that when I want to bring up her thread, the phone slows down and it takes a 10-20 seconds to come up. Other threads, take only a second or two to load. I assume this is because the HTC app is effectively trying to load all 1000+ messages. Is there a way to limit the amount of messages viewable or a way to archive the messages to my sd card?

Aug 12, 2010First and for most I just want to say, I love my Driod Incredible. Its lighting fast and puts my friends iPhone to shame every time he want to have a web page loading contest lol. But as of last night, my phone has been acting really awful and strange. I updated a few apps that I use and then tried to go into "handcent SMS" and it would force close every time and wouldn't open at all. I try to click my "phone button" to dial a number and it just says "Loading" forever and I get the same "Loading" screen with my contacts. I have no idea what to do and would really appreciate any help I can get.

Jun 13, 2010I have a Thinkpad Laptop running XP Pro. I haven't been able to load the HTC Sync application.
I have downloaded the current version HTC_Sync_2.0.33.
Here is what happens:
Language message opens, selected english
Preparing to install window box opens. Starts decompressing HTC PC Suite.msi.
Then the installation stops and I get a Windows installer message window. It lists all of the install and display options. Clicking OK at the bottom stops the install.
I have all of the windows updates. Any ideas what setting on my laptop is crashing the install? I have loaded it successfully on other computers.
HTC Incredible :: 2.2 - Can Not Load A Stock Recovery
Sep 11, 2010My wifes phone needs to go back. It was rooted, with S-Off. I ran S-On, but can not load a stock recovery. I tried using the one posted by adrynalyne, which I think was for 2.1, and it would do it check but not ask me to update.
I then opened the leaked ruu and took the recovery image and created a new PB31IMG file (with the txt file from adrynalyne's recovery) but again it didn't take.
Is it because I have S-On back on? If so, what are the steps to get this thing back to stock so I can send it back? I have been trying different things for the last 4+ hours and not sure what else to do.
