Sep 26, 2010So one of the cool things about Froyo is being able to check off Enable Automatic Update for market apps. So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.

Oct 17, 2010I have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.
Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?

Jun 4, 2012I was wondering if it was possible to update an app that was not installed from the market through the market.I've downloaded free apps from the market, unzipped them and swapped out some image files, signed and reinstalled, but these apps no longer show up in the play store--when I try, it says that the app was not signed correctly.

Oct 4, 2010I'm trying to install a new rom, and make it a nice clean fresh install. I wipe the cache, I flash the rom. As soon as I log in with my gmail account during setup, the phone downloads all the apps I had and the wall paper and a bunch of other stuff.
I do not want it to do this. I really really want to restore what I want when I want. Thats why I bought Titanium Backup. Does anyone have any ideas on:
1. Why this happens,
2. How to make it stop?

Nov 18, 2010However... a few weeks ago I was having issues with the Market (downloads were freezing in the "installing" stage) so I "Uninstalled updates" in the Market application under "manage applications". When this happened, it reverted my market back to how it was pre the newer market update.
My question: does anyone know how I can manually update to the new market again? The phone did it automatically before, so now I don't know how to get the "new" market.

Sep 1, 2010I followed the instructions posted on here yesterday to unroot my phone - worked fine. The superuser and and wifi tether are now gone. I went in this morning to try to manually install the froyo update from android and me, and when trying to run it, I get the following:

Oct 7, 2012My current custom ROM includes Youtube v4.0.5. Market shows "installed" and latest avaliabvle is v4.1.23. An update isn't offered. Next I convert it into user app in TiBu. I go to the Youtube entry in market again, re-install and presto I have the shiny new Youtube. I assume the reason an update wasnt offered initially was because the app was a system app. So this makes me wonder if there's any automated solution that scans through systems apps and checks if an updated version is avaliable? I'm aware of the risks involved and I keep backups.

Jun 27, 2010I can not auto update my apps. It tells me is "started downloading" and that is it. It will not actually download the update and just stays like that forever and inturn will suck the battery. If i stop the update and just manually update the app it will download and install just fine. It is kinda weird that it will not download automatically. It even tells me it found updates. Sep 8, 2010With 2.2 we got the market feature to update all which will just update all of the apps that have outstanding updates in the market.
What I cannot figure out is how to stop one particular app from updating, specifically I do not want to update the Facebook app since there are many reviews saying it is a big battery drainer and I do not use the app anyway.
Also, anytime I download a new app from the market, it automatically starts the download of the Facebook update, so I have to cancel it or if I don't catch it in time I have to uninstall the update. For both instances it just appears in my update queue again and I have the same problem next time.
So basic question is: Is there any way to select an app to not automatically update with the update all feature, or can we turn off the update all feature?

Nov 23, 2009I have been loving my Droid and am continuing to learn more about it that I like. There is a ton to be found. That being said, with nearly every app I add, I am adding more time needed to update the phone. If I let it go for a few days it takes a lot of time having to click 2-3 times per app to update. Is there anything out that will allow me to update all apps that have newer versions with a single or at least fewer number of keypresses? I looked through past threads and saw some older ones but nothing recent on this issue.

Nov 19, 2010I've noticed this since I've updated to Froyo (many weeks ago) but I don't know if it's related to Froyo or just some random coincidence. Whenever I update an app that's stored on my SD card I get the "Failed to install application" error. It's easy to fix just move the app to the phone, but it's kind of a pain in the backside. Is there an easier fix? Or should I just keep all apps on the phone and use the SD for photos and music or something?I have a non-rooted HTC Incredible.

May 7, 2009I uploaded the new updates to the application in the market. There was no error message shown. It seemed that the uploading was successful. However, the version name and the app itself were still the old version. FYI: lost the original private key or the keystore file. I generated a new keystore file to sign the app. I also met the minSDK problem and solved it by set the minSDKversion in the manifest file. There must be a way to update the app. I don't want to upload the app as an new application since there is a large base of existing customers.

I can find them in the market, but when I try to use my phone to download, it can not find them. Note: I used Astro to back up most of my apps on the phone, these couldn't be backed up since they were marked private. And they didn't display in my downloads either after the upgrade.
