View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do you delete factory installed apps. I know how to delete downloaded apps, but I don't know about Amazon mp3 and about five other factory apps. Want them gone! How do you do that?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to back up all the free and paid apps in my Moto Droid, but can't seem to find where they're located using Astro. Are they in the phone memory? On the SD card? Regardless, I can't find any of them.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIt's not a huge deal, but it would be nice if I could clean up the app page and get rid of some of the crap I will never use and only have the apps I want in there.
View 10 Replies View RelatedOk coming from the droid and I always wondered how do I get all the stuff that is pre installed deleted. I have numerous things I want gone. I have noticed on this x that it seems there is so much running. I have stopped it and somehow it seems to want to run again. Those are the things I want gone. I will never get any battery life with all this running all the time. There is a news thingy that runs any way to disable this stuff.

View 12 Replies View RelatedFor those lucky few with the X, could you tell me if the phone is preloaded with any cool media? For example, some phones come with Avatar or Transformers and even books. Is there anything cool that can be used to demo how amazing the phone is?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been viewing this forum for months and I'm surprised that I haven't joined until now lol... I'm currently a tmobile customer and will be getting the X in November. I've read in a few places and from a few people in person that the 2.2 froyo update was a tad buggy in small ways after the update. My question here is... Are any of you who recently bought a droid x PRELOADED with 2.2 have any problems too? Are is it primarily those who came from 2.1? I am honestly hoping to find a droid x with 2.1 so I can hold out on the update until the kinks are fixed but I was just curious if there was a difference for those who updated and those who got there's preloaded.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk, so this is for the people that just got a new Droid X from the newer batches that come with 2.2 loaded in them.
I know there was some talk of early Droid Xs coming with the loose row of keys...here and there I heard! However, the new batch of Droid X's that I checked out all had very loose keys, Like both rows had alot of play? IMO thats a big no no, because with heavy use they can only get worse. Also new Droid x's are coming with the newer screens that were on back order, what I saw on two of them was pretty bizzare, the screen when turned off had alot of weird haze to it, hard to explain, but it looked almost blurry. When turned on you cant really tell, but when off, the wiggly lines are there? Also on board was a slightly yellow screen while in a White page like Google. WTF with these companies, it's enough that they release a new Android phone every single month, but phone quality is just not up to snuff IMO, that goes for Samsung, HTC, and yes YOU MOTO! Anyway, anyone else with a new X seeing any of these issues
Can anyone comment on how the live wallpapers work on the D2. I have the D1 and I don't use them because it makes the home screen laggy. Just wondering if the "faster" D2 has that same issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to share some LWP that I have made. Been hogging these for a while so I figured I should share. I have only run them on BB1.0 and NexBeast 1.0.1. So I doubt they work for CM but you can try .

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a droid eris, stock version 1.5 updated to 2.1. I want live wallpapers but have no idea how to get them and also if possible a step by step root process would be nice.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI came from the curve and I loved crackberry because you can get a ton of free ringtones and wallpapers. Can someone recommend where to get ringtones and wallpapers for the droid?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo live wallpapers have been on the droid for a little while now, how often do you guys have them running on your phone? I personally always am using it, but I actually didn't use them today and I noticed a big performance increase.. wow. But I love the look of them so I guess they're staying!
View 24 Replies View RelatedI know there are plenty of Apps that can do this for you, but I enjoy putting my own content on the phones without having to go through a 3rd party, no offense to those Flickie devs But I use to use this method for my iPhone 3G and it's even easier to accomplish on your DX.The only requirement is you must have photo editing software to do this effectively. Something like Photoshop or GIMP (which is a free alternative). Both PS and GIMP work in a very similar way, so the steps should be the same, but I'll be talking from a PS perspective.
1. Open PS and start a new image with the dimensions 960x854 and a color mode of RGB 8-bit.
2. Save these settings as a preset called "Droid X Wallpaper" or simply save the PSD file as "template.psd" and load that up everytime.
3. Search the vast ocean of images on the internet or use your own and place it in the template we've just created. Resize the image so it fits the entire template, but do try to maintain the dimensions. The last thing you want is a squashed picture as your background on such a beautiful device!
4. Now click save-as and save your new wallpaper as a .png file somewhere. I find png's offer the best clarity and look really crisp on the DX as opposed to JPEGs. But this also is very dependent on the original image and how much degredation was suffered during the resizing!
5. Plug your DX into your computer and switch it to the USB mode so you can access the SD card. On the main directory create a new folder and call this "Wallpapers". Place all your created wallpapers here.
6. Eject the SD card go into your DX. In your Gallery app, you now should see your newly created Wallpapers folder unter the title...well, folders!
7. Open the folder in Gallery, find the picture you want as your wallpaper, long press the picture until a menu pops up and choose "set as" and then select wallpaper. Resize the box so it fits the ENTIRE picture and save.
8. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and drink plenty of Tang.
I'm looking for some with my fav sports teams Atlanta Braves, Miami dolphins, Clemson Tigers or one with the Droix x eye. thats not "live".

View 26 Replies View RelatedI was able to get the animated live wallpapers working on the 2.1 ROM (only Nexus does not work). Disclaimer: This can brick your phone and should only be done if you know what you are doing and are willing to take the risk, I bear no responsibility for your actions. Directions.
1. Download this zip file, it contains the necessary lib files and the live wallpaper files. wallpaper files - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service lib files - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
2. Unzip these files and place on your SDCARD. (I created 2 folders one named libs and the other app). You need to place the four Live wallpaper files in the app folder and the lib files need to be in the lib folder.
3. Restart your phone in the recover console.
4. Select mount sub-menu
5. mount sdcard and system
6. type busybox cp /sdcard/libs/* /system/lib
7. type busybox cp /sdcard/app/* /system/app
8. unmount both sdcard and system
9. restart your phone
I searched the forums here and did not find much and I even checked the suggested similar topics before I made this one and those were of no help either. I know there *has* to be a site out there somewhere dedicated to hosting Motorola Droid Wallpapers I can use for my phone. I tried google but didn't get very far.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 2.1 update got pushed through this morning and I immediately set a Live Wallpaper on my desktop. I have found that the wallpeprs don't "stick" when I turn the screen off and then turn it back on, it defaults back to the wallpaper I had set prior to changing it to the Live Wallpaper, or the screen just has a black background. At first I thought it maybe Live Wallpaper was conflicting with my Locale app, so I disabled it, but it's still doing it after.
View 8 Replies View Relatedjust wondering if anyone thinks with the 2.1 update coming it might give us droid owners and nexus one ppl a similar animated weather wallpaper option like on the hd2..just a thought..would like to hear what people think
