The LED is on the right side of the Verizon name on the front of the phone, but if you look close there are two holes to the left under the glass that must have some purpose. Anybody know what they are for? I tried covering them thinking they were for the screen brightness adjust but nothing changed.

I am looking for a good case for the Droid Eris. I am a mechanic, so I need something waterproof so that oil or water getting on it won't damage my phone. Are there any of the silicone cases that plug all the holes? That and a good screen protector should take care of my problem.

They almost look like LEDs (although I realize they aren't, or shouldnt be). You can see them in the owners manual pics but they arent labeled on their diagram, and I can't figure out what they are.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs the Incredible being left behind?I know all the news lately has been Droid X, and deservedly so.I remember the same thing happening when the Incredible rumors were out there, so I am fine with that.However, in all the trade publications, even the 2.2 rumor mill(I know the Inc is slated to get it) the Incredible is rarely mentioned. Also, with the production issues between HTC and Samsung, the Incredible still isn't shipping and the X will probably be out before they get them back in production.I feel like VZW will drop the Incredible (and all references to it) as soon as the X hits the street.But, that's just my humble opinion. Hope mine lasts for 16 more months.I LOVE my Incredible, and it has been treating me great.I just hope it's not a relic already.

I have not done a full reset yet. My wifes phone running 2.2 is showing 14.9 which is strange,she has less crap going on than i do lol. Okay post some stats if you would.I got so sick of my threads being moved into subforums i went and made this one in the tips or support section (cant remember which) and it got moved into main chat. haha i cant win lol. But it would be better here.
View 35 Replies View RelatedWhen you click on "Phone" and start typing letters to bring up whatever contact you're trying to locate, there are horizontal arrows that are on both sides of the name if that particular person has multiple numbers. Is there a way to scroll right or left to see them or am I forced to click on the "index card" looking icon to pull up their entry?? It's also like that when you look at "call history".
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've read another related thread with a similar issue but it died down and I'm surprised this hasn't turned into a bigger deal. My Incredible has been chronically swiping to the left I'd say 95% of the time I use it. It is almost definitely the track pad. Nothing is actually being tapped, just swiped. This sucks when it moves on its own to the far left screen, but it is insanely annoying when typing a text message/email and the cursor just races to the left of the message. Ah! I have tried pulling the battery, swabbing the track pad with alcohol, fully draining and charging the battery, but to no luck. The only way to make it stop is to press the track pad, and even then, sometimes it doesn't stop or just starts 10 seconds later. I really DO NOT want to return my current Incredible for a new one because then I'll be stuck with the newer (and cheaper/crappier) screens that are being shipped now. I love the contrast and vibrancy of the screen and don't want to be downgraded! Has anyone found a fix for this? I hope, but doubt the upcoming OTA will help. I know this isn't an isolated issue as a couple of my friends with the INC are experiencing the same issue.

View 27 Replies View RelatedOn the left edge of the screen, there is a line going down the side that almost looks like its suppose to be the far right side of the screen because when i move to different homepages, it shows up in that little line first as it swypes across (if that makes any sense). Has anyone else had any screen issues similar to this? This kind of sucks. I was happy that I haven't had any major problems with my phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Incredible for a couple months, and this just started happening a couple days ago. First, my home screens shifted to the left (as if I was doing it with my finger). I would leave the screen on, lay it down on a table top, a few seconds later, shifted to the far left again. I pulled up some things with text input boxes, and again it kept trying to shift the cursor to the left.
I checked and since it's still under warranty Verizon will swap it out. It only happened for a couple days, and has quit since (happened a few days ago). Any ideas what may have caused it? Think it's worth going ahead and swapping it while it's still under warranty? Hate to run the risk of it doing it again later, of course knowing my luck I'll get a screwed up one when I swap it out!
I searched on 'landscape' and couldn't find what I needed.
Can the DI go into landscape mode with the buttons on the left? I'm left handed and would much prefer this arrangement. With my BB I was always able to flip it into landscape mode on either side.
I don't know how the hell this happened. There was absolutely no chance that this could have happened, but it did. The scratch is on the screen towards the bottom left and is deep enough that if you scratch your nail over it, you hear the concavity.
I don't believe this. I'm not able to call customer service at the moment, but I think I can get them to replace the phone. Honestly, I was so careful with it! I don't know what happened! I needed to vent. Scratches can still happen everyone.
On the upper left hand of the screen their is 3 objects that look like pages with a check sign on them and a plus next to them what does that mean? I am a noob to android.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBattery Left was the first thing I installed on my phone when I got it. My battery life has been terrible so I've been trying to track down the problem. I woke up today, unplugged my phone and didn't touch it for an hour. Battery Left says I have 70 percent left but the battery meter in the status bar showed full. I uninstalled battery left and installed Battstatt and it shows 90 percent (2 hours later). Anyone else have problems with battery left? I hope this fixes my battery problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn Sunday I started getting the message "Low on space Phone Storage space is getting low." on the status bar. When I tap it, I'm taken to the "Manage Applications" screen, so it's clear that the message refers to the "Phone Memory," where apps are stored But when I go to Settings > SD card & phone storage here's what I see:
SD Card Total Space: 14.83GB
SD Card Available Space: 6.15GB
Internal Phone Storage Total Space: 6.60GB
Internal Phone Storage Available Space: 6.51GB
Phone Memory Total Space: 748MB
Phone Memory Available Space: 332MB
I've googled looking for solutions and it's obvious that this is a fairly common problem - especially on HTC phones. But the only possible solutions I've found are:
Too many apps are installed & space really is running low
A "bad" app was recently installed causing this error
Clear the cache for HTC Mail and HTC Message apps
Perform a Factory Reset We can rule this out since there is more than 44% of the Phone Memory available.
I didn't install any apps immediately before getting the message, but to be sure I uninstalled the 10 most recently added apps. No luck.
I've gone to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications, but the cache for these apps is already zero. The "Data" for Mail is 2.22MB and for Messages is 812KB.
This isn't fixing the problem, it's just a way to eliminate whatever condition has caused the symptom. But without an explanation of the actual problem I see no reason to think the problem won't come back in another two months.
I decided to give everyone an easy question. I already check for landscape via this method: if (getResources().getConfiguration().orientation == Configuration.ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE) But how do I tell which landscape? My Nexus One, at least, has two. Left and Right Handed. And yes, it does matter. If you are trying to relate a compass sensor to the screen, for example.

See what im getting at? Us Europeans need some 4.3" android goodness. I was dead set on getting the desire but this new phone really reminded me of what i like about the HD2 (big screen). Im thinking of waiting a little and seeing if any rumors start flying around about a possible GSM 4.3" android handset. What are the chances we'll see one this summer? Or even by the end of the year? Dare i say, or ever? Im about to cry now..

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo Ive been tweaking my phone to where I want it, outside of rooting. Anyways, I do what some old friends from nitro racing called "force charging". Basically been talked about here several threads, charging to full, unplugging it (I then use it briefly, web, txt, anything) then plug the charger back in, 2-3 times or untill its still green when I plug it back in. As of the moment, im at almost 72 hours with 30% battery left. Granted its only under what most of you would consider light/moderate use Im pretty happy. I make 4-5 outgoing calls a day, and get maybe 4-5 incoming. 10-20+ txts a day, my daughter usually surfs for an hour in incriments streaming You Tube videos. And some other lil stuff, all things considered I think its doing well. As I said, im not rooted, manually using ATK after I play games/surf etc, screen brightness 35%, 4g/wifi all that turned off unless needed, no live wallpaper. Also did the CDMA deal and whatnot, thats it though! Nothing special, pics to come. Seeing how far I can stretch it over 70 hours!
