I searched on 'landscape' and couldn't find what I needed.
Can the DI go into landscape mode with the buttons on the left? I'm left handed and would much prefer this arrangement. With my BB I was always able to flip it into landscape mode on either side.

I am not able to find out the perfect layout(viewgroup) to place four buttons as shown in the attached image. Basically, i want to place four buttons near the top/left/bottom/right edge of the screen. AbsoluteLayout helped, but it is deprecated (It is also better to avoid AbsoluteLayout as it is not very flexible for orientation changes)

However, I ran into a problem today with my phone that makes me wonder if it's something minor that I can fix on my own or if it has to be taken in. You know when you tilt your phone longways the display changes as well so you have a bigger keyboard? Well, mine's not doing it now and I'm wondering what the problem is.

Had the phone about 30 hours or so, been happily learning the ins and outs of my first android. Was streaming Pandora for a couple hours while working, then went to type a text and the full size landscape qwerty wouldn't come up only that aweful portrait mode cramped keyboard that makes me feel like I am typing on a blackberry now the browser won't switch to landscape either which is 'incredibly' annoying. Teeter seems to work fine, on level 19 and also "Bubble" an app for Leveling which switches to landscape in either direction.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI switched from my Motorola Droid to the Incredible a few days ago and the one thing I have noticed is that on the Motorola in landscape mode on the touchscreen keyboard was a send button to send the text right from that screen. Is this possible on the incredible in anyway on sense ui? Its driving me nuts to have to lower the keyboard or hit back button to send it. Any idea? I know its a minimal problem, but its annoying to me.

What happens (on my sgs2) is that the video records just fine in whatever resolution I pick... but it records it 90 degrees rotated to the right.
The solution that is usually offered is that "you can rotate it after!" yes... but then you have to CROP part of the image and lower the resolution. 1920 x 1080 recordings end up having to be cropped so that half of the view is cut out , or even more if you are maintaining a real aspect ratio.
The questions about "why not just hold it sideways", are just as pointless as the statement by steve jobs telling iphone4 users that they were holding their phones wrong.
is this something that can be remedied ? or has google decided that people should only record videos when their phones are in landscape mode?
i understand that we cant see landscape resolution in portrait mode; but can't we just have a viewport into the camera, but record in properly oriented landscape mode? so that playback on a computer will show the full resolution, even though we will only see part of it on the phone..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was sitting at my local Dunn Bros surfing the web on my EVO when I noticed a line that divided the screen in half. If held in the landscape postion the line divided the screen left right and if in portrait upper and lower. As time went on I noticed a lot of off color streaks that ran the length of the screen. Now about an hour later the whole screen is very washed out looking, and no my brightness is not on high either. Text is almost unreadable. It almost looks like when you take a magnet to a CRT screen. And no my EVO has never gotten wet, dropped, or abused in anyway.
Anyone out there experienced this. It really sucks because I don't have the screen separation issue or any other issues that people are experiencing but now my screen is completely dying.
Hi developers, As I'm just an Android user, I might be illegally here. But I just found out that being left handed, I have a slight problem with my recently purchased HTC Magic. I have searched Market already, but could not find anything to help me. My problem is this: as I am left handed, I like to turn the phone to landscape orientation with the buttons to the left (turning it clockwise). As you will probably all know, this won't work. To get landscape you have to turn the phone counter clockwise. Would it be possible for one of you to develop something to enable left handed people to turn the phone to landscape like they would intuitively do, that is clockwise?

Am I the only one who thinks HTC needs to get on the ball and tweak SenseUI to work in landscape mode? I mean seriously, they built the hardware with the kickstand for it to sit in landscape mode yet the software is stuck in portrait. (see the other one here Is it possible to reconfigure the keyboard?) Otherwise I'm loving my new phone. I got the auto-adjust option for the Display turned on but for some reason the screen won't switch to the landscape mode as long as I don't pull out the physical keyboard. That is only the case for the homescreens and the main app menu. Otherwise it works fine. For example, if I open the settings I get to look at them in landscape mode with the keyboard in our out.
