I cannot find a setting to disable this! I get emails in the middle of the night and the phone keeps notifying me every 5 minutes or so until i clear it. I am using the "Mail" app that came with the phone and it is a regular email account, nothing special.

I was wondering if there was an app that would cause an android phone to vibrate and/or play an audible notification every 2-5 min until all notifications are cleared form the task bar. I have a client who has moved from a Blackberry to a Droid 2 (thank god I hate those damn Blackberry's) and he used to receive these "reminder notifications" when he didn't open his emails or texts right away. I searched the app store up and down from my Incredible but could not find anything.

I prefer to check email on my own and not to be constantly reminded that a new one has just arrived in my gmail Inbox. However, when I receive a notification while I'm doing something else, or heck even if I receive it while just looking at my phone, I want to be able to hit a button and make the noise stop! I realize I have an email, text, whatever, so now I want the .mp3/sound to stop and not continue to play the duration of the clip!

I want this feature of course while I am NOT on a call, but while on a call people on the other end of the call have described it as a duck being murdered. I have tested it myself and cant disagree with them.

I heard people talking so highly of Vlingo so I installed it last night. It really does work great. My problem is that when I tell it send an email, it uses my gmail account and not my other pop email account which is currently set as default in the Incredible settings.

I don't mind the first time getting a message alert, but every 30 minutes gets kinda annoying. Anyone know how to turn it off? I do have handcent but that notification is turned off.

In last week or so these have changed a couple of times for no apparent reason (nope, it wasn't me!): Easily reset... . I'd downloaded Skype & wondered if that was doing something so uninstalled it. Just happened again..
1. No sound notification. When I am texting someone back and forth, I have to back out of the thread or I do not get notified that they have responded. If I leave it open, I sit there forever thinking the person didn't respond only to wake up my phone and see that they actually did.... 10 minutes ago. Anyone else have this issue?
2. When I turn my phone on in the morning, I never get notified of new email. I have to open my mail and click refresh. I have tried letting it go thinking it would notify me at the update interval I have set, and that never happened. I went almost 2 hours until I had a new email notification, and that was because I sent something to myself to test it.
Have you signed up for the email notification yet? HTC Incredible?

I ask because I have 2 accounts, one Yahoo and another Exchange for work. I never know which email account gets a new email unless I expand the notification or enter the email app.
It would be great to be able to have a little "Y" icon (or something) for a Yahoo email and another icon for the exchange email. That way I can just ignore all the exchange email that comes in after work and only bother looking if it is a Yahoo email. Anything out there?
After the last phone update (Incredible) my email notification sound does not work anymore. Does anyone else have this issue? I have checked all settings and they are correct.

That means I should hear a notification tone, I should feel a notification vibration -- and I should see the notification light.
Absolutely none of those things are happening. When my phone is sleeping -- I get no light, no audible tone and no vibration.
It very well may be operator error on my part -- but this phone is going back if this isn't resolved.
I'm a iPhone user switching over to the Incredible. Does the software allow instant push email notification with yahoo mail? I know it does for Gmail. I have Yahoo Plus ~ so that may help.Also, within the Mail application how many accounts can you have?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI hate calendar reminders, almost never use them, and I have my Google calendars set up to default to no reminder when I enter a new event. But on the Incredible, I can't figure out how to do that. When I enter a new event there is an option to set the reminder as "none" for that event. But under calendar settings, "none" is not listed as one of the options for the default reminder time - there's nothing above 5 minutes on the drop-down list. Anyone know if there's any way to do this? I just can't believe it's not an option and that I have to manually delete the reminder for every single event I enter into the calendar...

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

I have a ton of meetings, and I rely upon the phone's 10-minute reminder to play an alert sound before each meeting. This is very handy. What I don't like is that there is no way to set the frequency (i.e., the repeat) for the audible calendar event reminders. It seems like they will just keep going off forever every 5 or 10 minutes, even after the meeting has started, until I hunt my phone down, turn it on, slide the screen lock down, slide the notification area down, select the reminder, and select "Dismiss". And then when my next meeting comes up again, same issue. It was driving me crazy, to the point that I simply turned off the reminder notifications entirely. Is there any way I can tell this phone, "When there is a meeting in ten minutes, please play exactly 3 audible reminder alerts: 10 minutes before, 5 minutes before, and when the meeting time has started.
