For those familiar w/ Blackberry and the Google Calendar..it is possible to set email and popup reminders.With the calendar app on the phone, I can only set popup reminders. Does anyone know of any app or anyway to enable email reminders?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that none of my events on my Droid have any reminders. They have reminders in Google Calendar online, and in Outlook (they are sync'd from Outlook to Google Calendar by the "Syncmycal" program.) So somewhere between Google Calendar and my Droid I'm loosing reminder settings. The events are all there in my calendar, but none of them has a reminder set.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

She has sent me a few invites and they get into my calender after I open the email. When I'm sending her a invite nothing happens. Just to make sure I am doing this correctly. I go to the calender long press a spot on the calender. Select "New Event". Fill out "What" IE: Dr. Appt. And then fill out "Who" I enter her email address and then press save.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone knew the proper way to send an SMS message to an e-mail address using Verizon's CDMA Motorola Droid phone. The internal messaging application appears to automagically do this. While 3rd party applications like SMSPopup don't seem to be able to properly reply to e-mail addresses unless you compose the message inside the messaging application. When the internal messaging application sends a SMS message there's a corresponding 'RIL_REQUEST_CDMA_SEND_SMS' entry in the logcat (adb logcat -b radio). When you send a SMS to an e-mail address it prints the same thing, so behind the scenes it looks as though it is sending an sms. The interesting thing is that if you look at the content provider sent box the messages are addressed to various 1270XX-XXX-XXXX numbers.
On other services you can send email addresses by sending a SMS to a predefined short sms number. And then formatting your SMS as emailaddress subject message

For example, using T-mobile's number (500) you can send a SMS to an e-mail using the following:

It is possible to programatically send SMS to email messages from a CDMA Android phone? Does Verizon actually send your replies as SMS messages or are they actually sent as MMS or normal http email messages? Any ideas about how to intercept what the raw message being sent to see what's going on? It might be possible that Verizon somehow generates a fake number temporarily tied to an e-mail address (since repeated messages are not sent to the same number). But, that seems pretty heavy handed.
I am receiving emails , but unable to send via my pop email account. I have checked and RECHECKed the settings.

Up until Sept 19, I was able to either hit reply, compose new, or send emails from links/apps without any issues. I use Hotmail and go thru the stock email client on the phone. All of a sudden, every time I try to send an email, it errors out and I get a notice saying it wasn't sent. The phone doesn't give a reason, and the only option is to delete the message. Did the Froyo update mess something up or what? I haven't changed any of the settings on my account and only occasionally had this happen before, but now it happens on every outgoing message.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy issue is that I am unable to send mail using an email account on my web domain - I get a generic message that states something similar to the email is unable to be sent. I was previously able to email on my old Blackberry using the same account, so I would think it'd be possible on the Droid X. I have tried all ports I saw suggested in the forums on my web host's site but none of the three I tried work for me. I am able to receive mail without any problems and my web host confirmed the below settings should be correct. I know for certain that the user name requires the full email address, rather than just the user name portion. Please see below and let me know what I need to change to get this working. Is there a PC desktop application that can sync with Android calendar, tasks, and reminders?
I know on Windows Mobile I can use Outlook for this.
But I don't know how is this on Android.

I installed Petes Bugless rom and It was a little too buggy for me so I went back to my nandroid backup. Everything is fine except for my Gmail will not send an email. It will receive just fine but will not send. It just says sending... I have tried to send myself emails to my other accounts and receive nothing. I can send email with my .Mac email on my Droid though. I tried to delete my account and re-install and it won't let me because its my main one. It says I have to wipe my data first and I really don't want to do that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently got my hands on HTC Hero which happens to be my first smart phone ever (I was using the ancient Siemens M65 for a long time before that).And I'm currently trying to find a way to at least replicate (I'm not hoping for improving anymore) the organizer functionality I had on my Siemens M65.I've tried Googling, I've downloaded lots of various suggested apps, but I'm still coming up short.So I'll try listing things that I'd *really* like to have in an organizer app and perhaps someone could point me in the right direction.Of note is that I use organizer simply as a reminder engine. I don't plan my days on it, so I could care less for 'event duration', 'finding free time', and such functionality. I just want to have good reminder functionality.Features I'm looking for:
* Selectable snooze period when reminder goes off -- e.g. on my old Siemens I could choose between 5/15/60 minutes and 1 day. This seems to be sorely lacking in most (all?) applications I've checked.
* Easily selectable reminder date & time. Lots of applications seem to use that date/time picker that only has + and - buttons for choosing month/date/hour/minute -- this seems to border on unusable for me. Although if application is otherwise perfect, I can overlook that
* Notification (via widget or notification area or some such) when I have upcoming reminders today (or maybe today and tomorrow similar to HTC's small calendar widget). Smooth Calendar seems to be a good choice for standard Calendar app, but Calendar app itself is not ideal
* List of all reminders I have scheduled. This is something that seems to be absent from default Calendar app.
* Notification about reminders I've missed. Very desirable something that can be seen without waking up a phone (I think it is not impossible for application to blink one of the LEDs in case there's missed reminder). Definitely something that can be seem on home screen. I didn't test default Calendar app extensively in this respect, but it seems to do not display anything at all if you have missed reminder (although it seems to repeat the alarm after 5 minutes or so).
* Repeatable reminders would be nice to have, but it is probably least important item for me.
When a reminder comes up and I'm not present at phone, the reminder music come over and over again like every 5 minutes. This is really annoying.
Also, if I drive a car I cannot start fumbling around with the phone and the phone alerts me all the way.
I cannot turn off the alert sound, since I use it at work. And I cannot choose silent at profiles as I need to hear if the phone is ringing.
Is there a way to get a calendar reminder only once?
Can I send an email without invoking any activity (with Send/SendTo action)? Just compose a mail and send to recipient from my application.
