I keep getting a tone about every 30 minutes, I think its a notification that I have email. I don't mind the first time getting a message alert, but every 30 minutes gets kinda annoying. Anyone know how to turn it off? I do have handcent but that notification is turned off.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using Handcent on my Droid. I have it all set up to use a different tone to remind me of messages (at least I think I do). Instead, it just plays the initial tone as a reminder.
For example, when I get a text message:
<wild bird> -one minute- <wild bird> -one min- <wild bird>
But I want:
<wild bird> -one minute- <honk> -one min- <honk>
Where "honk" is the reminder sound. Anyone know why this might be happening?

I realize I have to have the USB debugging option checked in settings, but it's annoying that this notification icon appears whenever I plug the phone into the computer.How do I disable this icon?

View 9 Replies View RelatedA text message or e-mail arrives, the notification alarm starts and I have to pull the phone out of the holder, press home to wake up the phone, press menu, then notifications to stop it. That seems like a lot of steps. Is there a setting I am missing to press the volume button or power button the stop the tone? Maybe an application? I know it times out at some point but by then I am sure anyone around me is annoyed at hearing "Check it out" being played over and over.

I have a client who has moved from a Blackberry to a Droid 2 (thank god I hate those damn Blackberry's) and he used to receive these "reminder notifications" when he didn't open his emails or texts right away. In last week or so these have changed a couple of times for no apparent reason (nope, it wasn't me!): Easily reset... . I'd downloaded Skype & wondered if that was doing something so uninstalled it. Just happened again..
After updating basebands and flashing several ROMs I had noticed degradation in both reception and battery life. Since I was OC'd I chalked up my poorer battery life as a side effect to my love for speed. The new basebands were probably necessary for Froyo compatibility, but since my knowledge is limited in that area, I can't be sure. Either way, my reception suffered. During one of the times my signal dropped, I decided to look into my network settings and noticed under Mobile Network Settings/System select, that my phone was set to Automatic instead of Home only. After selecting Home only, my reception improved as well as my battery life. The better battery life I attribute to the phone not looking for a signal as often and am so much happier now that I've found this. Just thought I post my experience and see if anyone else has had similar results.

Well I added some more yesterday, went in a changed it to one of those, but it still played my old tone. So I tried deleting the old tone and leaving just the one I wanted in there - now it doesn't play anything!
