HTC Incredible :: No Sound On New Email Notification
Sep 15, 20101. No sound notification. When I am texting someone back and forth, I have to back out of the thread or I do not get notified that they have responded. If I leave it open, I sit there forever thinking the person didn't respond only to wake up my phone and see that they actually did.... 10 minutes ago. Anyone else have this issue?
2. When I turn my phone on in the morning, I never get notified of new email. I have to open my mail and click refresh. I have tried letting it go thinking it would notify me at the update interval I have set, and that never happened. I went almost 2 hours until I had a new email notification, and that was because I sent something to myself to test it.

Aug 30, 2010I cannot find a setting to disable this! I get emails in the middle of the night and the phone keeps notifying me every 5 minutes or so until i clear it. I am using the "Mail" app that came with the phone and it is a regular email account, nothing special.

Aug 6, 2010This might be a dumb question but is there any way (or app) that would allow us to change the white envelope in the notification bar for email? I ask because I have 2 accounts, one Yahoo and another Exchange for work. I never know which email account gets a new email unless I expand the notification or enter the email app.
It would be great to be able to have a little "Y" icon (or something) for a Yahoo email and another icon for the exchange email. That way I can just ignore all the exchange email that comes in after work and only bother looking if it is a Yahoo email. Anything out there?

Jun 4, 2010Is there any way to get an email or text notification once my phone is in sleep mode? If my phone is "awake" it rings but once asleep I don't get any notification. Also, if my phone ringer is set to vibrate is there any way to set my email/text notification to ring or does it have to be both vibrating or both ringing.

Apr 30, 2010I've got my ALL notifications turned on for my IMAP email account (which is set to check email every 5 minutes).
That means I should hear a notification tone, I should feel a notification vibration -- and I should see the notification light.
Absolutely none of those things are happening. When my phone is sleeping -- I get no light, no audible tone and no vibration.
It very well may be operator error on my part -- but this phone is going back if this isn't resolved.

May 19, 2010I downloaded the Google Earth link successfully prior to it being available in the Market, and I've used it with no problem. After seeing it in the Market, I figured I'd go ahead and download the Market version, so I'd get updates. However, I can't get a successful download after 10 tries. It keeps saying application not signed, download unsuccessful. Do I need to uninstall my third party link off the phone first? Has anyone else had this problem? Would my current version of Google Earth get update notifications since it didn't come from the Market?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

Sep 1, 2009I did a search and found one person that had a similar problem but there was no suggestions that solved it. So I am starting a new thread.
I have been a long time Blackberry user and made the switch to Android just yesterday morning and really love it. I hope someone can help me with this issue.
I have noticed that a couple of times I get the email notification sound but there is no email. A couple of minutes later I receive an email with its own notification sound. Another time, I heard the notification sound AND the new email icon on the top left of the screen but there was no email. Several minutes later, the email was delivered to the handset.
The email accounts that I have set up on the handset are one yahoo with mail plus, and one gmail account. I believe the issues happened with the gmail account.

Feb 16, 2010Over the past week or 2, several times now, I'll get a series of email notifications (sometimes as many as 10 or so, a few seconds apart), but then there won't be any messages. I'll check later, but still nothing.
I have a POP, gmail and an exchange account.
I'll also sometimes have POP email keep coming back, sometimes 5+ times, after deleting it every time. It may be 30 minutes later, or hours later.
HTC Incredible :: Notification Screen Doesn't Hide When Selecting A Notification Event
Sep 14, 2010So when I get texts, gmail, completed app downloads, etc I get notification icons at the top as usual. When I slide the notification bar down to reveal the nofications and click on an item, the notification screen doesn't hide back to the top of my phone -- it just stays open. I either have to hide it manually or I have to hit the back button, which sometimes exits the app I was trying to open. 2.1 never did this for me, it always hid when choosing an item. Anyone have a solution to this? I've done a factory reset after 2.2 btw. I've also searched support to see if there was a similar problem, no similar threads.

Jun 30, 2010I've factory reset my phone 3 times today for data problems and push email issues. Since the last time, I have a voicemail icon in my notification bar, clicking on it tells me to call my GV number to hear 3 messages. I cleared the messages in the GV app,but the notification wont go away. It has no Clear button to dismiss. I've rebooted the phone, tried calling the number, but have not yet tried throwing it against the wall. That's next. Jul 6, 2010Unless I'm losing it, whenever I had a new email notification, pulled down the notification bar, and clicked the email, G mail app opened up the email itself. All of a sudden, when I do the same thing, it opens up the G mail In box and I have to click the email itself to open it. Am I delusional and this is how it's always been?

Jun 30, 2010I'm getting on great with the phone, it is one stunning piece of kit.
I do have an issue with the stock email client/widget. I've got it all set up to pull down any new messages every 10 minutes and I've set up the peak/off-peak times, etc.
What I don't get are any notifications for emails that I receive overnight when the phone is switched off. I can switch it on in the morning and leave it for as long as I want, but still don't see the new emails appear until I start up the email client.
After the client has been run I get email notifications without any problem.
I connect to my own IMAP server and have Google Mail sync disabled.

I have to go into the Email app to see if anythings come through. I have it set to give me an audible alert and that's not working either. This will be a real deal breaker if I can't get it fixed.

The problem is, it will only alert me to the first email, and if I do not check it, it will not alert me for subsequent emails. While I realize the rationale behind this, I really like how my BB tells me every time I get an email. Anyone have an idea on how to enable this?

Sep 11, 2010I'm dialing in my Droid 2, which is replacing my previous Blackberry Tour. I am importing all my audio files for ringtones, notifications, and alarms.
I have done the following:
Connected my phone to my computer
Mounted my SD card
Created a Media folder on the card
Created an Audio sub-folder within Media
Created Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms, and MP3s folders within Audio
My custom ringtones show up when I'm selecting them in Settings, and RingDroid also shows all of my files (currently placed in Ringtones and Notifications). However, if I go to my GMail app and settings, when I go to select a custom notification ringtone, only the ones that shipped with the Droid 2 show up. I also checked Settings, and no custom notification sounds come up.
