How do I turn off the vibration notification while I am on a call? If I am on a phone call, and I get a text or email, the phone vibrates. I want this feature of course while I am NOT on a call, but while on a call people on the other end of the call have described it as a duck being murdered. I have tested it myself and cant disagree with them.

Android doesn't seem to recognize when I am on the phone. While on a call, it still vibrates when I get a text or e-mail. It is loud and annoying. When not on vibrate, it still plays the message received tone, and it is loud too. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

However, when I receive a notification while I'm doing something else, or heck even if I receive it while just looking at my phone, I want to be able to hit a button and make the noise stop! I realize I have an email, text, whatever, so now I want the .mp3/sound to stop and not continue to play the duration of the clip!

When the phone in vibrate mode I use the following code to stop the phone vibration:
Vibrator vib = (Vibrator) context.getSystemService(Context.VIBRATOR_SERVICE);
vib.cancel();
While it worked on my Nexus One with android 2.1, it seems that it doesn't stop the vibration on an HTC Desire handset with android 2.1.
Have someone encountered this issue?
All was well until I reset my Desire because of the googl email -> gmail change, now I don't get any vibration from email or SMS, etc dispite all the settings being correct for vibration, ie the main settings menu, gmail and SMS setting. Is there a cure for this problem?

It's annoying when multitasking because that functionality remains regardless of whether the phone call is the active screen or not. If you are watching the Google Navigation screen and you're on a call, move your finger near the little dot next to the verizon logo and the screen turns off.

Right now me phone only rings once. This is the most basic feature and there has to be a way to change but I can't find it for the life of me. View 8 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Hero a couple of days ago and I can't help but getting a bit annoyed by the fact that whenever I receive a message my phone gives off the double vibrate buzz, followed by most often just a second of silence before the message sound 'pling' goes off. The pause between the vibration buzz seems a bit random and I have experienced it pausing for up to like 10 seconds before a sound plays.
