Anyone else have this happen? If I try to delete a thread that has a shit ton of texts, the screen will freeze up, turn black, tell me its not responding in which I force close but the screen just stays black. I have to restart my phone every time I try to delete it.

A couple of my friends and I all have the Eris. I seem to be the only one that has messaging issues though. If I try to delete a thread with over 30 messages the phone freezes up and I eventually have to hit the home button to make anything happen. When I'm on the home screen I click messages again to see if it did delete the thread and ALL my threads are gone and it says Compose Message at the top. But it freezes again. I end up restarting my phone, going back to the messages and they are all back like I never touched them.
Every time I try to explain this people seem to think I don't understand how to delete a thread. That is not the issue! If the thread is under 30 messages it deletes fine! I have to delete facebook statuses all the time. The only way I could clear a 700 count thread was to one by one delete the messages. What is going on? Is it just my phone and hopefully an update is coming? Or do I have a setting turned on that I need to change?
Continually The screen will go unresponsive, and then turn black and the only things that'll light up are the bottom buttons. Sometimes the screen will just freeze without going black... and i constantly have to do battery pulls.

Is there any way within SMS Text Messages you can delete previous parts of the conversation? I see that it saves all my conversation with a person so I have todays conversation and yesterdays too. However, I want to delete all of yesterdays text messages but still keep the conversation thread I'm having currently. Does this make sense? It was something I liked with my old phone- the "delete previous" option. Is there something like this on the HTC Incredible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just finished my ota 2.2 update... since the install everything has been working great however when I open the camera (still or video) it will not open. The screen will turn black with the camera or video image and then go back to the home screen. I have tried restarting the phone with the same results. Any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this? btw I was unrooted and stock if that makes a difference prior to the update.

I have a WM8505+ procesor and the software was for WM8605. Now the tablet does not turn on, black screen, no sound nothing. I saw on other forums and youtube that i can shortcircuit 2 pins from a Samsung chip on tablet motherboard but it`s not working.

The first time it happened I called verizon and they fixed it over the phone, but only lasted a few days. I took it to the store and the verizon "tech" guy put advanced task killer on it which didn't help, but now my battery doesn't as before.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI couldn't find anything specific through a search, but whenever I get an email on gmail I get a white envelope notification. That is linked to the gmail folder. At the same time I get a black envelope with a white outline. I cannot figure out what email folder/widget/whatever it is linked to and I have to manually clear the notification.
Is there anyway to turn off the black envelope?

Seems that maybe 1 out of every 3 or so phone calls I get, especially if the phone's been relaxing in my pocket for >1hr with no use, when I receive a call, the phone freezes.
The receive call screen appears, but I can't swipe down to receive. Can't swipe up to ignore, and hitting the power button on top simply ignores the call.
Anybody else ever see this? It's been fairly constant since I got my phone a couple months ago.
Quick edit question - is there a screen I can find on the phone that shows all my recent downloads? I have ASTRO and can find stuff on the SD card alright, but tracking down files I've downloaded from my email/dropbox, etc is always tough for me.
I am attempting to delete text messages from my "messages" app and every time I choose delete it freezes and causes a Force Close pop-up. Anyone know why it might do this?

Every time I go to try and delete the thread, my messages freeze and I have to force close and restart my phone. Anyone know of a way to delete messages another way? & I recently set my phone to delete after 200 texts. Would this maybe be causing the freezing does anyone think?

View 1 Replies View Relatedok so so about an hour ago i was playing with my phone and everything worked. I set it down and then go take a shower and i hear it chime so i get out and towel off and go to the kitchen where i left it and tried turning the screen on to see who it is....nothing
the screen is black and the none of the buttons seem to be responding, the only thing working is a blinking orange led light. so im thinking the battery is dead and i can just put it in the charger i do that and the blinking stays for about 30 seconds and then stops and i tried turning it on again and its still black. Normally i can just turn the phone on when its charging but this time no.
I have an HTC Droid Incredible LTE 4 and for the most part it's fabulous...
But when I'm talking on the phone the screen goes black and if I try to unlock it to schedule something in my calendar, etc., the screen just goes black over and over and won't stay active long enough for me to unlock the screen. This is exceedingly frustrating since I can't use any apps when I'm on the phone, and I have to push the button on the top to get the screen to light up at all if I'm on the phone, it doesn't automatically light up if I take it away from my ear to look at something on my phone.
I've been doing the same thing for weeks now, but suddenly after I bump charge, my screen is black every morning.
I'm starting to see more and more threads about this over the last few days with other phones, but not for the Incredible. Everyone is saying 'turn it in, get a new phone.' What a pain in the butt to do that.
No one seems to have a cause for this. For me, I bump charge in the morning, and when I unlock after restart, everything goes black. I lock, unlock a few times, then I see my apps, but over a black back ground. I swap out my wallpaper and it works fine for me all day. But the last 3 mornings has resulted in a black screen.
So, I flashed .92 hboot from adrynalynes website and it is stuck in some kind of weird hboot boot loop. When I try to reboot it just goes black and comes back to this screen. I can get to clockwork and do and nandroid backup, but I just wanted to know what potentially caused this so I can avoid this in the future.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAlso the softkey buttons stay lit up above the trackpad. Running Frankenrom right now but also had it on the new deodexed leak. Reboot cures it for quite awhile, but it seems to return eventually. I think it's possible it might be due to creating a custom profile in SetCPU for "Screen Off" mode. Just wanted to verify if anybody has pinned it down yet. Happens both when charging and during normal use.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible fell out of my pocket when I was getting out of my car and it cracked. The touchscreen on the Incredible still works, but the glass/LCD (or digitizer) is cracked. I don't have the insurance and since it's been a few months, I can't add it.
1) How much will Verizon charge to replace the glass/LCD (or digitizer) or provide a replacement phone?
2) What is the turn around time to get it fixed?
Everytime I turn the screen on and unlock I get this message on my home screen with the clock/wx widget. It says, "Set new clock successful!" It dissolves after a couple seconds but it still annoys me. It only happens on the screen with that widget and not with other home screen pages. View 6 Replies View RelatedIt's hard to say when this happened but I guess I noticed it after the OTA update (not saying that is the reason, just when I noticed it). The weather animations when you turn the screen back on seem different from before. The demo animations aren't the same either, lightning used to cause white flashes, cold used to gradually build up, rain effects lasted longer (I don't even remember fog).
Am I missing a setting change? Was it always this way and my memory just sucks (very possible)? Did it actually change?
Everytime I have to reboot, or if my battery dies, and I charge it and all that, and I press the power button, the screen just freezes at the HTC EVO 4G screen. I have to take out the cover, and pull the battery and by the time I do this 2-3 times, it finally boots correctly. I'm using Fresh 3.3.0.1 alongside netarchy 4.1.9.1 cfs.

Is there any app which can make night mode of selected apps (browser/gtalk/gmail/other few user selectable apps) background dark & font light / white similar to youtube app?
UC browser had this night mode earlier but latest version they have removed this feature. Ideally such app should be time sensitive & as the night time approaches it should start applying the night mode.
