Screen won't turn on but the buttons do. It rings but you can visibly see the bottom layer of the screen is cracked. With no insurance, am i shit outta luck with getting a replacement?

I remember seeing this once. My power button is getting quite the workout, so I was wondering what app I should download to get that lock icon, which will allow me to use the volume buttons instead.

View 32 Replies View Relatedok so so about an hour ago i was playing with my phone and everything worked. I set it down and then go take a shower and i hear it chime so i get out and towel off and go to the kitchen where i left it and tried turning the screen on to see who it is....nothing
the screen is black and the none of the buttons seem to be responding, the only thing working is a blinking orange led light. so im thinking the battery is dead and i can just put it in the charger i do that and the blinking stays for about 30 seconds and then stops and i tried turning it on again and its still black. Normally i can just turn the phone on when its charging but this time no.
I have noticed this as of today. I have been trying to hit some buttons like Home and Back but the phone isn't responding... Anyone else getting this problem? Also I have noticed that When I turn my phone from off to on the Wi-Fi just auto starts. Anyone else having these issues? Any Fixes? I am using Steinheil Crystal Clear Screen Protector but have had it on abou a week and just yesterday the phone started being un responsive. any ideas?

Basically, i want to place four buttons near the top/left/bottom/right edge of the screen. AbsoluteLayout helped, but it is deprecated (It is also better to avoid AbsoluteLayout as it is not very flexible for orientation changes)
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the past, when listening to music on my Incredible, if I locked the phone the music would continue to play just fine. If I wanted to pause/play/skip a song, all I had to do was hit the power button and above the "Slide to unlock" bar there was a music control bar.
Now, my music still plays, but those buttons are gone from the lock screen. This is a pain because in order to pause my music when someone comes to my desk at work I have to hit the power button, unlock the phone, slide down the notifications window, wait for the music app to load then hit pause.
Anyone know how to get these buttons back?
It's my wife who has the Incredible and neither of us can figure out how to turn the screen off when it's plugged in and charging.It stays on all night and is very annoying.If there is a mode to turn this off, please enlighten me.

View 6 Replies View RelatedScreen on my Desire occasionally lights up for 1-2 seconds for no reason then goes back to standby again. Happens once or twice every couple of days (could be more often but I don't stare at it the whole time). No notifications or calls coming in. I suspect it maybe one of the apps syncing or something, but as this happens so rarely it's hard to determine which.

Reboot cures it for quite awhile, but it seems to return eventually. I think it's possible it might be due to creating a custom profile in SetCPU for "Screen Off" mode. Just wanted to verify if anybody has pinned it down yet. Happens both when charging and during normal use.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible fell out of my pocket when I was getting out of my car and it cracked. The touchscreen on the Incredible still works, but the glass/LCD (or digitizer) is cracked. I don't have the insurance and since it's been a few months, I can't add it.
1) How much will Verizon charge to replace the glass/LCD (or digitizer) or provide a replacement phone?
2) What is the turn around time to get it fixed?
Anyone else notice their Captivate screen waking up for no reason? Mine's only done it a couple of times, just wondering if there might be a more serious underlying issue. It'll light up for a couple of seconds with no alterts, notifications or sounds, then go right back to sleep.

View 20 Replies View RelatedEverytime I turn the screen on and unlock I get this message on my home screen with the clock/wx widget. It says, "Set new clock successful!" It dissolves after a couple seconds but it still annoys me. It only happens on the screen with that widget and not with other home screen pages. View 34 Replies View RelatedIt's hard to say when this happened but I guess I noticed it after the OTA update (not saying that is the reason, just when I noticed it). The weather animations when you turn the screen back on seem different from before. The demo animations aren't the same either, lightning used to cause white flashes, cold used to gradually build up, rain effects lasted longer (I don't even remember fog).
Am I missing a setting change? Was it always this way and my memory just sucks (very possible)? Did it actually change?
I just got the Behold 2 last night and I wake up this morning to a phone thats stuck on the Android SCreen? WTF is that? Anyway, I have already tried reseting it and taking out the battery, Format SD card, Taken out both cards. Maybe this phone Really is a piece of shit. If it has, I am taking it back in the morning to Tmobile and getting my money back. Then I am Going to Sue Samsung for making such a piece of shit phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHave you ever picked up your wonderful device and heard it squeak? And even in normal handle I'm sure you've heard this happen. Well, if you look close enough it only happens on the right lower side when you press in.
On the left side there is a hinge that the cover connects into, while on the right side there is the microSD slot. This is where the plastic presses in as there is not a hinge keeping it tight.Fix ideas anyone? Any way to fill up the SD space?
I am only drawing off my knowledge of the Eris here, but we have a similar issue where certain kernels dont work or everyone. The issue for us is that the eris ships with 2 possible touchscreen drivers, depending on the driver a kernel may/may not work on your phone-the touchscreen may become unresponsive after flashing.
I want to see if this could be the same reason for you guys. Can you post what your touchscreen driver is and which kernels do/dont work for you? You can find your driver version under the fastboot menu under touchscreen. (Fastboot is Send + End for the Eris)
Why can't Gallery see my camera pictures?
COnnects to Picasa and my SD Card fine but it cannot see my camera pictures.
During video playback the four soft buttons down the bottom of the phone (back, menu, home and search) stay lit up which is rather annoying. Is there any way to have them turn off by default? Is there something I'm missing?

If you take off the back cover and look to the right of the speakerphone, there's a little red rubber "plug"/cover that comes out, leaving a hole. Removing the plug messes up the acoustics of the speakerphone very much (and makes the phone shake like crazy when loud music is played). It's not important, but I was curious if anyone knew if there was a design reason for this / why you would ever want to remove it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFrom time to time my DINC would crash/reboot (I wouldn't think much about), but today it has happened about five times! I deleted a new file app (Astro) thinking that might be the issue. I couple days ago it crashed when I was using the NY Times news widget. Anyway I'm running 2.2 and I love my DINC.
Can apps make the phone crash or can it be from something else.
