I have Flickie Wallpapers and went to load it. Screen went black and froze. Had to open the phone, remove the battery and reboot. When I came back, I got a message that my SD card is damaged. Maybe there is an app that can check and possibly repair the card?

Phone froze on the samsung home screen, i took out the battery and replaced it, still nothing! i did the home, volume down and power buttons did the download, it started downloading then the screen went black, it now wont even go onto the home screen. I have tried doing home volume up and power buttons but nothing comes up! i don't know what to do!!

View 2 Replies View Relatedi tried to download the SE but then my macbook opened it with textedit , so basically i see a bunch of weird encryptions. i could still use it this morning, play music; surf web;facebooking etc, then it just hanged.i remember i dropped it accidently last night. what should i do? PLEASE HELP1!!! there are lots of stuff in my phone that are important, it's almost as important as my macbook.

Anyways. I froze some lockscreen related apks in Titanium including but not limited to the following:
idlescreen_base.apk
idlescreen_shortcut.apk
And cannot pass thru the lock screen right now. I see the status bar alright, but the majority the screen shows nothing / responds to nothing.
Is there anything I could do thru PC / adb to unlock the phone or defrost selected system apks? When connected to PC via USB, it's charging by default, not disk storage.
Continually The screen will go unresponsive, and then turn black and the only things that'll light up are the bottom buttons. Sometimes the screen will just freeze without going black... and i constantly have to do battery pulls.

the screen is black and the none of the buttons seem to be responding, the only thing working is a blinking orange led light. so im thinking the battery is dead and i can just put it in the charger i do that and the blinking stays for about 30 seconds and then stops and i tried turning it on again and its still black. Normally i can just turn the phone on when its charging but this time no.
I have an HTC Droid Incredible LTE 4 and for the most part it's fabulous...
But when I'm talking on the phone the screen goes black and if I try to unlock it to schedule something in my calendar, etc., the screen just goes black over and over and won't stay active long enough for me to unlock the screen. This is exceedingly frustrating since I can't use any apps when I'm on the phone, and I have to push the button on the top to get the screen to light up at all if I'm on the phone, it doesn't automatically light up if I take it away from my ear to look at something on my phone.
I've been doing the same thing for weeks now, but suddenly after I bump charge, my screen is black every morning.
I'm starting to see more and more threads about this over the last few days with other phones, but not for the Incredible. Everyone is saying 'turn it in, get a new phone.' What a pain in the butt to do that.
No one seems to have a cause for this. For me, I bump charge in the morning, and when I unlock after restart, everything goes black. I lock, unlock a few times, then I see my apps, but over a black back ground. I swap out my wallpaper and it works fine for me all day. But the last 3 mornings has resulted in a black screen.
So, I flashed .92 hboot from adrynalynes website and it is stuck in some kind of weird hboot boot loop. When I try to reboot it just goes black and comes back to this screen. I can get to clockwork and do and nandroid backup, but I just wanted to know what potentially caused this so I can avoid this in the future.

I used the handbrake settings that someone had posted in a thread in here but that gave me the black screen as well.

It's about the ''black screen'' freezing issue encountered by some users. I have had this several times since owning the phone for a few weeks, so it is a recurring issue. Problem: The phone hangs or appears to be shut down or become unresponsive suddenly. Pressing the hardware buttons doesn't help as the phone doesn't react at all. Solution: Take out cover and battery and restart.Observations: From my own observations, it's not actually a shutdown but a major freezing/hanging. Sometimes when it happens, I can still see vague shades of the display at an angle. After leaving the phone for a while in the pocket, the phone comes back to normal again. Not sure if this is true for all users with this problem. Anyway, gathering more feedback to see how prevalent the problem is, to evaluate whether I should take it to the SE service centre, or whether doing so will help at all.
View 3 Replies View Related1) After I make a call, the screen goes black in a matter of seconds. I'm typically using a headset when I notice this. To end the call (or enter numbers in a call menu) I need to press the sleep button to get the screen to light up again. This is a pain in the a$$.I have the screen timeout set for 2 mins.
2) About once or twice a day the home screen will lock where I can't press anything. I need to reboot to fix.
Sometimes when I hit the screen/power button the screen will stay black and i can see the menu bar up top fine but all else is black. If I hit the home key then all lights up fine. Then sometimes Ill hit the button and it works fine.

Felt it vibrate for an incoming text and when i went to check it all i got was a dark/black screen. I could see the lights at the bottom lit and i i could tell the phone was on because i swiped down on the lock screen and felt the home buttons react. I have taken the battery out twice, and still i dont see nothing. Any ideas what this is or how to fix it?
View 18 Replies View RelatedOk this actually happened for the first time last night and it was really scary with a three week old Evo. I was charging my phone and using it when I would recieve messages and such. My screen would time out like it should then I would recieve a text message. I would then unlock the screen, put in my password and the screen would view the go black. I could still hit buttoons although I could not see what I was hitting. I would hit the power button to lock the screen, unlock it again, it would view for a moment then black again. The navigation buttons at the bottom stay lit when the screen blacks out. At this point I dumped alot of different applications I had on my phone along with Home Launchers.
Troubleshooting:
1) Restarted the phone by powering down. (Result) The screen still went black upon restarting.
2) Unpluged phone from charger. (Result) The screen went black for a few times, but once I left it locked for a few minutes it seemed to work fine for a while but eventually back to the black screen.
3) Checked animation and application settings. I had Beautiful widgets weather animation on along with the HTC Sense weather animation on. I uninstalled beautiful widgets. Also I looked under display> animations and my setting was on no animations but the beautiful widgets was displaying before deletion. (Result) It worked for quite some time, as I thought I had fixed it but my phone went to the black non-time-out screen with my phone just sitting on the desk.
4) Check Brightness and screen timeout. My brightness is NEVER on auto and The screen timeout was set to 30 Sec. (Result) I turned the screen timeout to off, and My phone screen has not turned black once. ***Just to add I know for a fact that when my screen was going black that it was not the screen timeout as the navigation keys would stay lit and you could still type things and have access to the screen just without seeing it*****Conclusion*I'm not really sure what the issue is with this, I think that with the settings and certain applications running and confusing the phone that it was trying to do too much and didnt know what to display. For now my phone hasnt done this all day long so maybe it was just a hiccup. I am thinking that having alot of apps that do the same principles running at the same tim eg. Beautiful widget animation and HTC weather animation, along with trying to perform its normal tasks the phone just got confused. I will keep anyone interested posted about this issue, I know this is a big issue listed on Sprints forums. Anyone else have this issue or ideas?
I don't know what this is, but when I looked at my screen today on a white screen, I noticed a very small black dot or speck. At first I thought it was just some dust so I brushed off the screen - but it was still there! I even flet over the area to make sure it wasnt a scratch, no scratch! perfectly smooth on top. I even restarted the phone to see if it was some software display issue. Nothing is making this stupid thing go away! I have never dropped the phone or anything, does anyone have a clue what it is?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was sending a text using the shapewriter keyboard and was trying to put it to landscape mode when it wouldn't react...i was trying to press back and the phone wouldn't respond and then all of a sudden it just restarted on me...on top of that once the phone restarted I was trying to turn on 4G but I couldn't even get the option to be available...it looked as though it was blacked out while I had no problem turning on everything else...here is a screenshot...
I had to restart the phone in order for 4G to become available again...since then shapewriter has constantly "force close" on me...I don't know if that is the issue since I just installed it today Should I take the phone back because it just randomly restarted on me and the 4G wouldn't work? Anyone else have this happen to them?

When I soft rebooted a few weeks ago, I lost a bunch of settings (like wallpaper, default notification sound, skype). Also the HTC weather widget stopped updating on its own. I can manually update it but it stays at one location, not the one I am at. Used to work fine. Seems like "my location" doesn't update for it. I ahve tried to reboot, reload widget, reset my location settings - no change. My stock web browser also resets at some sites (this one especially). Never had this issue before.Tried to update my profile and the screen just goes black. Stays that way until I hit the back button.

Ill download 2-4 apps and play around with them, keep what I like and uninstall what I dont. Ill read the news, use friend stream and read reddit. I am using wifi, no task killers, froyo, (problem existed with 2.1 as well), but for whatever reason my screen goes black.
The phone is not off, the 4 buttons at the bottom are lit up. Pressing the power button brings the screen back on but sometimes it just dies out to a black screen again. I've done a soft and hard reset both to no avail. Is anyone else having this problem? How many apps can the phone handle at one time?
Came into work this morning, plugged the phone into the Samsung dock, was trying to get to my gmail when the screen went out. Well, I've had some annoyances with the screen timeout, so I thought nothing of it. Tried pushing the power button. Nothing. Took the phone off the dock. Tried again - nothing. The backlight comes on on the capacitive buttons, but the screen is black. Held down the power button - the power off/airplane/silent toggle comes on. Okay, I thought - maybe it's frozen up. Powered down, got the VZW splash screen. Powered back up, got the whole bootup animation. After the VZW splash screen, screen goes black and I'm right back in the same place again. I've also tried this process with removing the battery. Same thing happens. Seems to linger at the Verizon splash screen longer than I remember, too, on bootup. About 20 seconds. So to recap, here I am: The backlight on the capacitive buttons is on (and not dimming, btw). If I hold down power, I get the power off menu. Otherwise, the screen is black, and not responding to any button presses. I'm running Launcher Pro, otherwise stock/not rooted. Need help - don't have time to go wait at the vzw store for an hour today.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI opened this app (battery booster, can't post link because I am new) after downloading it excited to hoping it was better then a previous one I was trying that seemed to do next to nothing.I saw the brightness button and hit it. It showed 11%. I was like oh I thought I had this all the way down.so I use the scroller to take it all the way down assuming 0% meant that it was the lowest it could possible dim the screen.well it sure is a battery saver considering I can't even see my screen as its completely BLACK

View 1 Replies View RelatedHTC Evo was working fine, started noticing screen flickering but phone continued to work fine. Updated to froyo 2.2 and did sprint updates, phone still worked fine, then next day in the middle of playing with phone screen flickered and went black. Tried removing battery and rebooting several times but no luck. Left battery out overnight and tried again in the morning white htc screen appeared and then flickered out to black. did a hard reset, with the screen still black and still nothing. I've gone back to my phone after it has set for hours untouched and press the power button I can see the lock screen but it too goes away after a second or two. Phone is functioning lights at the bottom of the phone are lit and respond when I press them just no visible image. I don't have the insurance so I'll have to pay for all the fixes myself and I've had it since August so there is no returning it to the store. I've searched the web and I haven't seen a solution to what the problem could be is it the LCD screen or the motherboard. I'm ordering another screen but I'd hate to find out it is something else.
