How do I prevent my Google chat thing from always being signed in? I get random chats everyday from all my random gmail contacts and its getting kinda annoying... I do the sign out but somehow eventually it gets signed back in...

I downloaded the Google Earth link successfully prior to it being available in the Market, and I've used it with no problem. After seeing it in the Market, I figured I'd go ahead and download the Market version, so I'd get updates. However, I can't get a successful download after 10 tries. It keeps saying application not signed, download unsuccessful. Do I need to uninstall my third party link off the phone first? Has anyone else had this problem? Would my current version of Google Earth get update notifications since it didn't come from the Market?

I cannot seem to get it to work in meebo or any other app. Anyone using a Google App as a secondary been able to set it up for chat/talk? If so, how or what app worked for you?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am facing to android application signing problem. My application contains Google MapView. When I compile the app and run on the emulator, MapView works fine. But signed the app, MapView doesn't work. I've get Google Map API. This works on the simulator. I could sign the app once 2 months ago. Then I've upgraded the app. Now I need to sign the app again. Actually I don't know why signed app's mapView doesn't work. How to fix it?
I used following steps when sign the app: Run Eclipse. Select the project. Right Click -> Android Tools -> Export Signed Application Package -> Then Filled forms. (In forms, Validity years: 200, and all passwords are same.)
Anyone else have this problem? Tried to update Google Maps from market, got the above error. See under my username (to left) for specs.

after getting the 2.2 ota, whenever i plug my phone in to my computer it will have the popup say there is software available to use, do you want to install it? and at the same time brings my web browser to a verizon website. i don't see any option for disabling this. is there something i'm missing?

It happens both on my Droid and in the chat client in gmail. The reason I'm asking here is that it only seems to be affecting my buddy and me and we both have Droids. It's nice to know my contacts are backed up on-line so that I they're not lost if I manage to lose my phone. However, I do not want contacts loaded onto my phone that I do not communicate with by cellphone (only e-mail). There's simply no point to it. I do not use a local client e-mail application--only GMail. I'd rather keep my phone contacts list succinct. But I have yet to figure out a way to do this, except by keeping a separate GMail account specifically for managing my phone contacts (I keep only those with phone numbers, and synchronize with that one). I'd rather keep it all unified in one account (both contacts and calendar).

Ive been reading this forum for several months, and bought my Eris last month (previous Blackberry Storm owner). With my Blackberry, I was used to having Blackberry Messenger service that allowed me to message other BB owners, without using my SMS/MMS count with Verizion. Without that, I have set up Google Talk as an alternative.
Pardon me asking something here that everyone else proabably already knows, but does the Google Talk messages get counted as SMS/MMS messages by Verizon ? I do not use it except to message one of my friends from time to time, so I am fairly ignorant about the various types of 'chat' messaging systems out there.
Thanks for your help, and I am enjoying everything that this Eris can do so far. I was a bit leery at making the switch, but I can see Android systems are a good way to go.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have purchased several apps through the Google market. Updating to Froyo required a system reset for me so the apps had to be reinstalled from the market. My google checkout and login ID are the same but Google charged me again for the apps and they showed up on my CC. Tried to resolve through google but gave up in frustration trying to find some way to dispute or rectify the situation. I disputed the charge through my CC but I have a feeling that is going to cause more trouble. Surely there is some way this is SUPPOSED to work and a planned way to rectify easily when it does not.
