Android :: Users Getting Package Not Signed Correctly
May 2, 2010A small percentage of our users are getting a package not signed correctly error when installing our app that was downloaded from the Market. They can't re-download from the Market, so we are having to get them to download and install it from our site, which works fine. It seems to happen to maybe 1% of our users, and only for our paid app, not for the free one (at least that we've heard of, naturally the paid users are going to contact us more than the free ones). I'm guessing it's a problem when the download is corrupted for some reason, but in that case shouldn't the Market let them re-download it and try again? Anyone else seeing this? If I click "export unsigned application package", a dialog box showed up. Anything i missed? Apr 6, 2009I published my app on the market, and when I first tried installing it from there, I got the 'package file was not signed correctly' error. Uninstalling the unsigned version I was testing with let me install from the market with no problems. However, from the comments, it looks like no one else can install my application.
I've put other versions up that worked, and I used the same certificate, so I'm pretty sure it is not an issue with the validity days for the certificate.
The name of my application is Bloxors. It will be going up and down as I try to figure out what the issue is here, but if someone else who is getting the error can debug it it would be greatly appreciated.

I first published the packet using eclipse, right click export, creating a keystore then publishing, however it refuses to work.
I then downloaded the keytool and jarsigner and used them to sign an upgrade which I posted instead. However this gives the same error.
And since I cannot delete the application I cannot try and start again,

Feb 13, 2014I've uploaded my first apk to Google Play, made with processing 2.03.
I used this guide to sign: http:[url].....After a few hours, when the app was visible, when trying to install, I get the "package was not signed correctly". I'v tried it on another device rather than the one used for testing and I have the same issue.
1. is there a way to test apk's faster? It could take up to 12-24 hours for the new apk to be updated on Google Play, and that's what I have to wait to see if I now signed my apk correctly.
2. can you download the app and see if you get that issue?
3. does it matter what information you input when you create the release key using jdk? I mean, does google check against information you use in your Google Play publisher's account and then gives that error?
4. is there an alternate way of signing my apk?
I am using win 7 64 bit, latest jdk7 at the time of writing, latest android sdk with just api level 10 installed, latest version of apache ant (installed manually).
Android :: Can't Find/import The Com.google.android.maps Library/package?
Jan 3, 2010I'm learning via a few books w/downloadable code. One of the examples I'd like to get running won't even compile because the IDE can't find/import the com.google.android.maps library/package, which I found odd since I have everything possible installed that the SDK offers. The book info on the publisher site was not helpful either.
I'm using Eclipse (build 20090920-1017) with the ADT 0.9.5 plugin. SDK is fully updated (all available packages installed, including android 1.1 api 2 rev. 1 through android 2.0.1 api6 rev 1, and google apis 3 rev 3 through 6 rev 1.)

Jun 2, 2010I am facing to android application signing problem. My application contains Google MapView. When I compile the app and run on the emulator, MapView works fine. But signed the app, MapView doesn't work. I've get Google Map API. This works on the simulator. I could sign the app once 2 months ago. Then I've upgraded the app. Now I need to sign the app again. Actually I don't know why signed app's mapView doesn't work. How to fix it?
I used following steps when sign the app: Run Eclipse. Select the project. Right Click -> Android Tools -> Export Signed Application Package -> Then Filled forms. (In forms, Validity years: 200, and all passwords are same.)

HTC Incredible :: Google Earth In Market Not Signed
May 19, 2010I downloaded the Google Earth link successfully prior to it being available in the Market, and I've used it with no problem. After seeing it in the Market, I figured I'd go ahead and download the Market version, so I'd get updates. However, I can't get a successful download after 10 tries. It keeps saying application not signed, download unsuccessful. Do I need to uninstall my third party link off the phone first? Has anyone else had this problem? Would my current version of Google Earth get update notifications since it didn't come from the Market?

Mar 5, 2009Is Google Latitude available in the UK or not, because it doesn't seem to be working for me? I have received the RC9 update for G1 and have Google Maps 3.0. Is there an a Google Latitude application that I should have or do I access everything through Google Maps? When I go the www.google.com/latitude on my G1, it offers me the option of "launching" Latitude but it just takes me to Google Maps. From there, I cannot see the locations of my Google "friends" (who have agreed to show location), neither does my own location show up on the Latitude homepage on the web (I have settings turned to "detect my location automatically").

Feb 15, 2010I have a Droid Eris running Android 1.5. My problem is that when my phone syncs with my Google Calendar, events that aren't on my Google Cal sometimes show up on my phone's calendar. The events that are showing up are events that repeat on a weekly basis but I deleted them for certain weeks on my Google Cal, yet they still show up on my phone. This is starting to become a hassle because I keep thinking that I have to do things when I really don't. I've already cleared the calendar data on my phone and restarted like the Google troubleshooting tips say, but that didn't work.

General :: Google Maps App Doesn't Sync Names With Google Bookmarks
Apr 17, 2013I'm using the latest version of Google Maps on JB 4.2.2 [Nexus 4]..I noticed that I cannot edit the names of my locations in "My Places" in the phone app. So I used Google Bookmarks (google.com/bookmarks) from my PC to edit/rename My Places. However, the names do not sync or carry through to the Google Maps app on the phone. The names in the app are still the generic names, coordinates or street names.
Is there any way to change the names of My Places and get them to sync with the phone app? Really baffling!

Feb 12, 2009i work on custom Application Manager and try to get the disk usage of installed package. So PackageManager.getpackageSizeInfo was removed from SDK on 0.9->1.0 update android.content.pm. PackageStats(String pkgName)(cacheSize, codeSize, dataSize) returns always "0" Size of phys. file (java.io.File) in "/data/app" seems wrong/not completely. Has anybody any solution to get the total disc space used by an installed package?

Jan 13, 2010Since I have been on holidays to Spain last Christmas (and used plane mode) my HTC hero does not properly sync with google calendar I see on my computer. The appointments I add on my phone do not show up on my computer (browser google calendar). Events that I enter in the browser do show up on my phone. So there is a one way synchrosisation. Sunbird on the computer is no longer able to connect with the google calendar. (It indicates a connection error) I removed the calendar it had and inserterd a new one (with the private ical address you can find in google calendar settings). But the connection error continues.
The calendar in Google desktop is able to connect to the calendar in the browser but also does not show the events I entered in my phone. I have checked and re-checked my phone's settings to see if all the options are checked but all seems ok. All sync options are checked: background / autosync / gmail / calendar / contacts (are synched both ways).
General :: Google+ Notifications Not Working Properly
Feb 22, 2014I have a problem with google+ Android app, recently, today I stop from receiving notifications on my phone not even on the status bar and I have the config for example this community to receive notifications. The only way I could recieve them and others I've configured is to enter the app and the other strange thing is that I doesn't even sound while I have configured that too. I've reinstalled and installed the app, wipe cache and dalvik, wipe the app data and config again with no results, it's too rare. y Google App version is 4.2.4.58179886 and i have activated the sync of Google+ on the account. For further information i receive notifications with sound for people who circle me and mention me but not communities or circles i have.
P.S.: For Google+ web notifications are working as they do. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Don't know if it has to be with other Google services like Google Play Services, Google Framework or other.
