I have tried to implement my custom Content Provider, but method openFile returns ParcelFileDescriptor that points into filesystem (or socket). My pictures are in filesystem, but in encrypted form.
I have tried also URL.setURLStreamHandlerFactory, but in android java it is useless (because custom streamHandler can be register in jvm that is not allowed). I also try html code "img src="data:image.gif;base64,R0lGODlhiAAkAMQAANOOk...", but in embedded chrome it's not working.
I have the favorite widgets and I'm using my friends FaceBook as there profile picture. Only problem is, it wont update there pic, it's going on days now since they've change there pic and it wont update. I have unsync FB, resync and its update only that time, but it wont do it automatically.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a while now, I don't know exactly how long, my phone stopped receiving pictures in text messages.I get a notification that a new text msg is in, but when I click on it, it just says "downloading".Once in a blue moon the pic will appear after about 20 minutes, but most of the time it never comes up.I am using Handcent, but I get the same result with the stock messaging program.The one thread I saw said that a hard reset had to be done.I really don't want to have to do that.

First the phone I have is the DROID RAZR MAXX and I just did a FDR because of a root problem and now that I have it rooted the scripts aren't working. My script text is this
"Mount -o bind sdcard-ext/MusicCache sdcard/Android/data/com.google.Android.music"
The error it shows is like this:

So I was trying to edit the buttons on my Tmo Galaxy S3 (with AOKP Milestone 2) and accidentally broke all of them. They don't respond at all now.
I went into system/usr/keylayout. I copied the files to my sd card. Then I edited them (I also kept a backup of the old files). When I was finished I went back to the system/user/keylayout section and pasted the new files. As soon as I exited the file browser my phone reset itself. When the phone came back on none of the keys worked.
So I deleted the files I put in, and replaced them with the old files that were there before (using pie controls to navigate). I reset my phone using the app Quick Boot because I heard you have to reboot your phone in order for the new software coding to take effect. But still none of the hardware keys work.
I don't understand. All of the original files are there now. I'm afraid to let my phone die or to even turn it off because I don't know if the power button will work anymore. To wake up my phone I have to plug it into the charger and then use pie controls to navigate. get the hardware keys back to the way they were?
Recently my Eclipse IDE seems it has stopped letting me use the common shortcuts like Ctrl + Shift + O and it is not prompting me with suggestions when I hover my mouse over an error.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Galaxy S3 and I moved my songs onto a micro sd card. This was a chore. The sync feature didn't work. Th message on my machine said my disk was full,. So, I finally ended up taking out the microsd and puting it into an adaptor and moving my songs onto it.
I put back the card back into the phone. I can play songs off of the card. However, I can't seem to save any made up playlists. I've used winamp and google music player to try to make playlists. The playlists seem to disappear after a while.

When I put my S3 in silent mode, the ringer is muted but the notification alerts are not. I have to manually mute the notifications alerts (and then manually turn them back on). This happened after I downloaded a ringer mode widget that I almost immediately uninstalled. how to reset the ringer mode so that Silent includes notification alerts?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using Go SMS as my default message app on my Droid 2. When I send a picture to more than one contact, everyone I sent it to gets any response any one does to the message. This is obviously not cool.
I can't find an option to turn that off, I'd never even heard of such a feature before. Not sure if that is an Android thing or just my app. I want to continue using this app but I'm not going to send a picture to umpteen different people 1 at a time.
I'm unable to tag friends while using the Facebook app for Android, whether it's in Check-Ins, statuses, comments, or any of that stuff.
When I try doing it by using the "+" icon, it says "Unable to load friends list" (something like that) and then when I try using the "@" symbol, nothing shows up. It used to work perfectly fine, even with this version of the app. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling... Wiping cache, and even different ROMs. Could this be a gingerbread bug? I'm using a T-Mobile G2x, with the latest CM7.3 nightly build.
I recently made the switch from windows phone 8 to the HTC One and I am really missing the people hub or groups feature of windows phone. It allowed me to put some of my contacts into groups. For example, I had 2 groups, 1 for family and 1 for friends. In these groups, it collected all the facebook, twitter, and other social feeds of those people and put them all together.
I really liked this feature because I could easily look at filtered social feeds for certain people without having to flip through each app separately. I often saw posts/tweets that I would have otherwise missed.
Is there a similar app or feature on Android that would give me this functionality? I have yet to find it.
I recently rooted my Xperia Pro and after I finally did it, I have a problem now. The mobile internet isn't working. I can activate it, but the E- H- or 3G-symbol isn't shown and the internet doesn't work. I read in another forum, that my APN-Settings may be wrong, so I tried going to "Settings > More... > Mobile Networks > Accespoints", but this menu is empty. I only see the headline "APNs", that's it...
I deleted some apps, perhaps that's the problem, but I did a backup of the system/app folder. If that's the problem, perhaps you can tell me the app I need to reinstall...

I have a sprint galaxy s3 and I'm having issues with words with friends. anytime i have a move to play, it displays it as an ongoing notification in the drop down box. i have never had issues until i updated to jellybean. it is getting annoying because i cant clear it and i notice a huge drain on my battery.
the weird thing about this is that my wife has the same phone with the same version of WWF and updated to jellybean the same way, but her notifications are not ongoing and can be cleared. there is no way to change this in the application manager in device settings or physical settings with WWF. all i can do is turn the notifications on or off. i have cleared data, force stopped it, uninstalled it, installed previous versions, and even rooted my s3 and am running synergy rom, but still no luck.
