HTC EVO 4G :: Handcent Never Sends MMS Pictures / Work Around This?
Jun 11, 2010It sends text great but it never sends MMS pictures. Any work around this? I downloaded the latest one on their site but no luck.

Apr 23, 2010Hope someone can help me out with this one.I can't seem to get Handcent to display contact pictures. it did show the ones with Facebook contacts, but I rebooted my Hero, and selected 'fix uid mismatches' which I read would fix this, and now it doesn't show any pictures.

May 1, 2010"generic network failure" continually keeps me from getting and sending pics in handcent. What's the deal? They won't work in the HTC message app either.But when I first got the phone last Tuesday I received a pic from girlfriend just fine.Not sure what to do here.Anybody have any suggestions? Apr 30, 2010Trying to send a picture taken with the camera via Handcent and always says it is too large - it will "resize" it and retry but it never goes through. I increased the MMS size to max (1 M) but they still are not able to be sent. I then send them with the native messages app (that came loaded on the phone) and they will make it. Any trick I am missing? or other settings I need to change? I hope so b/c I think Handcent is great otherwise really like the bubbles. (I also tried it w/ Chomp and it did not work either).

People send me pictures, they come through on my phone as a gray arrow pointing right like you should be able to click them and play the media, but nothing happens when you click them. I've confirmed that what they are sending me is just a picture taken with a sprint phone.. Why won't the picture display in handcent? What do I have to do to see these pictures?

Mar 20, 2010When I first installed Handcent, whenever someone sent me a pic it just popped right up on my screen. No action needed on my part to open a file or anything.
About 2 days ago it started sending these "Download" boxes instead. I press the box that is in the txt msg and it reads "downloading".
Two Questions:
1. Where do those pix download to?
2. Sometimes it says "unable to download"..... now what?! It doesn't tell me why it cannot download the pic.

Anyways. Just got a Moto Droid. Downloaded Handcent SMS. It's great. However the ONE thing I can't figure out, is why do SOME of my contacts have their Facebook pictures, and others don't? I have "synched" with Facebook multiple times. The contacts I have saved have the exact same names as their Facebook profiles, so it should pop up, right?

May 22, 2010I keep trying to attach pictures using Handcent. Keeps telling me pictures are too large and resizing. Then it always force closes handcent. I increased maximum MMS size to 1M. Never had this problem til after the update. Have done a factory reset. Only thing I have not done is uninstall Handcent and reinstall. Anybody else having his issue?

May 4, 2010So I gave in and decided to download Handcent. I wasn't overly impressed with the HTC Message Widget and have heard such great things about Handcent. But, I'm having trouble getting the widget to work right. I have a blank home screen and added the Handcent SMS Widget to it. I thought that should make a full-screen widget like the other do. But instead it is just putting a tiny little Handcent icon as if it was a shortcut to the program (which essentially is what it is because if I click on it then Handcent opens). I have done this multiple times to make sure I was putting the widget and not the program there.

Nov 9, 2009So it's no secret that the super-special-awesome multimedia and car docks use magnetics to get you into that mode. But I got curious just now, so here is what happens when you put 1/4" cube neodymium magnets on certain spots on the device. If you already figured that this is how it works, good for you.
These pictures are terrible, yes. You can click on them to see them in their full-sized horror. I didn't make a point of being artistic here, I just want to show you what happens. And yes, that is a box of Sensodyne. It was on my bathroom vanity, which is the best-lit area of my house at nighttime.
This is where you want to put the magnet to activate the sensor.
But the polarity is the key to choosing which "dock" gets activated. I don't have a polarity indicator to tell me which pole is which, but suffice it to say that one pole activates multimedia, and the other activates car.
I tried this with 5mm diameter, 1mm thick neodymium disks, but they didn't work. That's the only other size I have besides 1" cubes which I'd be afraid to put by my phone though.
You may want to look into something like 5mm by 2mm or 10mm by 2mm or something. 1/4" cubes aren't very compact if you're looking to be thrifty and make your own dock. You could just slip a thin disk into your design and it'd be totally discreet. Hey, making your own dock or buying an el cheapo one and slipping in a 10 cent magnet sure beats buying a $30 one, doesn't it?
This also shows us that there may not be any more special docks to come, and if there will be, they won't be based on this technology. After all, both poles of the magnetic sensor have already been used.
Motorola Droid X :: Can't Get Contact Shortcut Pictures To Work Anymore
Sep 25, 2010Since updating to 2.2, when i add a shortcut to someone's contact info by (holding finger on screen>shortcut>contact>John Doe) it does not use the picture. Instead I just get the "shadow outline thingy" for their picture, even though the picture is still there in contacts app.
The only things I've added since doing the update are Facebook and Takephone, but I don't think either of those are the culprit since they are showing their pictures just fine...

I would like to use this to either both launch programs and send other commands (such as changing the audio output on my PC). I am able to do this by creating shortcuts to the commands, then using a remote program (like premotedroid) to control the mouse and click the shortcuts, but it would be really cool if the phone could just send the command directly to the PC.

Feb 4, 2010We are starting the e-mail intent of the user's choice (createChooser) and sending a zip file. This zip file is created right before the email sends, but we need to make sure the file is there until the email actually gets sent. Once the e-mail is sent, it would be nice to have this file deleted instead of sitting around eating SD card storage. Is this possible? (it can't be done in onActivityResult, e-mail intents don't actually finish, they cancel and thread the sending in a background service...so when onActivityResult gets called the e-mail might not have sent yet). Any ideas?
