Has anyone been having this trouble lately? I've tried clearing out old messages and clearing the cache but yet it still force closes on almost every picture while resizing it.

Up until now, Handcent has worked just fine for me (except for not being able to view pix occasionally). About 2 days ago it force closed on me. Today it has done that about 4 times. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Handcent, as well as power cycled the phone, but it is still acting up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried searching for a thread to help me with this and can't seem to find one. My mms will not download to my phone. The messages come through but will not finish downloading or open. I have uninstalled handcent which I thought may have been a problem and it corrected it for 1 mms then I am back to square 1. My internal memory has 87mb left and I've deleted all apps I don't use.
I have tried deleting all messages in the phone by batch mode and it either freezes up or gives me force close to what looks like the mms program. I am trying to avoid a hard reset because we all know how much of a pain to reinstall everything is. I am starting to get really fed up with the phone because for the money I paid, I expect much better. As much as I dislike Apple products, I can see why people rave about their products - they don't have these problems. (*sssshhh don't tell Apple fanboys I said that)
why does my calender keep force closing?i have widget installed that wasn't on the hero when i bought it.i guess it could be that, but does anyone else have issues with this?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been using Fresh 2.3.3, and everything is working great. However, Wireless Tether won't start. Whenever I use it - it force closes. This is actually the first time I think I've tried it. I don't remember ever using it on the earlier version of Fresh rom I had.
This only seems to happen when trying to connect through bluetooth. I can start the program, access the menu and settings and all of that - but as soon as I press on the big green wi-fi icon to start tethering - it force closes. The USB mode seems to work fine... but I need to use bluetooth mode.
For some reason Handcent keeps force closing all of a sudden. I haven't noticed this before & its happened about 4 times.

When I am having a conversation thread and I am responding, I open settings, attach, from camera, take a picture, and hit save. Once I hit save, Handcent force closes. I have tried to uninstall it and re-install it. I tried the same thing on the stock app and at first it didn't work but then I went into rom manager and went into JT's stuff and downloaded the stock MMS.apk, that did the trick for the stock messaging app but Handcent is still doing the same thing.
I updated my x10a to 2.1 last week and i noticed sms and handcent keep freezing up. I uninstalled handcent and it's still doing it. my x10a is Rogers branded and rooted.

People send me pictures, they come through on my phone as a gray arrow pointing right like you should be able to click them and play the media, but nothing happens when you click them. I've confirmed that what they are sending me is just a picture taken with a sprint phone.. Why won't the picture display in handcent? What do I have to do to see these pictures?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I first installed Handcent, whenever someone sent me a pic it just popped right up on my screen. No action needed on my part to open a file or anything.
About 2 days ago it started sending these "Download" boxes instead. I press the box that is in the txt msg and it reads "downloading".
Two Questions:
1. Where do those pix download to?
2. Sometimes it says "unable to download"..... now what?! It doesn't tell me why it cannot download the pic.
Had to replace my Hero because the old one was acting up, anyway since reinstalling Handcent I have been having issues opening pics or videos. For the most part I get an error message saying downloaded message was unsuccessful.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI've been using Handcent sms for my messaging, but when I do a MMS by adding a picture, it will resize the photo (often with a double pop up asking if I want to) to a "small" size. The limit of my mms is set as 300kb, but often the pic resize will make it 6kb, which isn't as bit on the Hero screen as some incoming images. Is there something I can do to change this? I've tried sending myself MMS messages both from the Hero Messaging bit and from the Handcent SMS app, but both seem to come across as smaller than pics sent by others. Is this a Hero issue, a Handcent issue (even though it happens via the Hero messaging software), or my own network issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI keep trying to attach pictures using Handcent. Keeps telling me pictures are too large and resizing. Then it always force closes handcent. I increased maximum MMS size to 1M. Never had this problem til after the update. Have done a factory reset. Only thing I have not done is uninstall Handcent and reinstall. Anybody else having his issue?

1. To properly close an app so it doesn't run in the background, you need to back out of it.
2. To properly close an app so it doesn't run in the background, you need to hit your home button.
3. To properly close an app so it doesn't run in the background, you need to go into task manager and just kill it.
All I want to do, is exit the app and have it NOT running in the background.
On my hero, nearly every time I try to create or edit a calendar event, I get the following force close pop up: It is getting very aggravating and no matter how many times I do a battery pull, it still happens. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I use a program called spanning sync to sync my mac iCal program with my gmail which in-turn syncs to my hero.

If someone sends me a slideshow, all I get is a pic with a "play" button. When I hit the button nothing happens. Should I delete program and start all over? What are your Handcent settings?
View 19 Replies View RelatedIve noticed that when i shut my phone off and turn it back on after this recent update from hand cent sms, i loose the hand cent icon and it is replaced with a red x instead. has anyone else had this issue? the only way Ive been able to fix it is with a un install and then reinstall which is a royal pain in the ass given that i don't restart my phone very often i still have to customize all over again.

But for some wierd reason, I chose to use the stock SMS the other day, and realized the lag was greatly reduced. Now, has anyone else experience this also?by the way, I am using Better Keyboard rather then using the stock keyboard.Besides the landscape typing lag, Handcent was a cool SMS App. I liked it a lot more than ChompSMS.
View 14 Replies View RelatedTho it seems the update did fix the problem with the native app, Handcent is still the way to go, at least for me. Seems the native app can't handle more than a 1 meg pic file and since I often include a pic in a text, taken from the Hero its of no use to me. Handcent will reduce the pic file automatically which is a nice feature. Also I refuse to lower the setting from the Hero just to accommodate the native app. Just my thought on that issue.
